Why not remain focused on getting Ron the Republican Nomination

Considering that's the first step to any of these concerns, why aren't we working to get Ron Paul the republican nomination for president?

One bridge at a time.

As an independent (versus Republican) strong supporter of Ron Paul, I think that its important for my fellow independents to consider refraining from advocating non-Republican tactical suggestions for Ron Paul until the Primary bridge is crossed.

I, personally, see my country benefiting from a coalition of certain elements that the two-party system has effectively constrained. Ron Paul has criticized the two-party system on more than one occasion.

But I am refraining from advocating that position, at this point, because Ron Paul is currently endeavoring to acquire the Republican nomination.

There will come a time when the advocacy of an alignment of certain political forces will fall on more receptive ears.

Shhh!

He's also anti-2nd

He's also anti-2nd amendment. And for expanding the social programs.

Kucinich Loves The UN

Here's some more info for you about how Paul and Kucinich are polar opposites. From the Huffington Post: An article by Dennis Kucinich "5. The United States will abandon policies of "preemption" and unilateralism and commit to strengthening the UN."

George Bush gave a speech before the U.N. stating that attacking Iraq would legitimize the United Nations and put teeth into their resolutions.

This is completely different from a Ron Paul stance. He wants us out of the sovereignty killing U.N. He wants the U.N. to leave the United States and never return. America can never be free if we have to answer to any other country.

The reason why I'm spending so much time with this is because I have heard with my own ears at Ron Paul events suggestions that Kucinich would be a good running mate. He may be against the Iraq war but for very different reasons as Ron Paul. Ron Paul opposes the war from a constitutional/freedom worldview and Kucinich opposes it from a globalist/socialist worldview.

Troll, much?

Given that Fuzzydevil00 has been a dailypaul member for, oh, six hours, has it occurred to anyone else that he's merely a Kucinich supporter trying to advertise on our boards? The insanity of this debate must stop. Not only should Paul and Kucinich never be on the same ticket together, but "Dennis Kucinich as VP" leading the 'Active Forum Topics' area when I log on makes me cringe like no other.

WE MUST JUDGE A PERSON

WE MUST JUDGE A PERSON BY THEIR TIME ON BOARD NOT BY READING ANYTHING THEY TYPE !!!

and.. go !

(I like to play devil's advocate)

Thats *MY* job...

I resemble that remark - er - I mean I resent that mark - I was hear first.
There is only *one* devils.advocate...

bwaa ha haa dude

I didnt even realize before it was you who made the UFO comment, tho it makes sense, cause you made sense before, when everyone like like

FLAMER FLAMER FLAMER

im posting youtube content, and laughing at it with you

but then again, I asked an honest question here, and then conceeded the point, but im still a flamer ! YAY !

I cant pass on this one...

Sorry, Dennis lost it with the UFO thing - to be attached to him in anyway now is suicide.
I dont doubt for one minute that there is intelligent life *somewhere* in the Universe... and probably even in our own galaxy... but to transverse space at faster than light speed... probably impossible. If not impossible then a species that is THAT intellectually advanced, we would never be able to detect even if they were *watching* Dennis is a now classified in my book as a "kook", what little respect I had, I lost...

lol its cool

thats probably the 2nd most rational response I had so far lol

I would like to thank TOM !

I would like to thank tom on clarifying the second amendment issue :)

And again thanks guys at least one of ya provided something to backup an argument with :)

Instead of, IM RIGHT CAUSE I SAY SO !

and then you mine as well be supporting bush

Pretty much the only thing

Pretty much the only thing that Kucinich and Paul agree on is that we need to get out of Iraq.

Both are men of principle, but what you must understand is that Dennis Kucinich's set of principles is based upon the idea that the rights of the collective trump the rights of the individual. Kucinich believes in big government and socialism, not free markets. I cannot think of two of the current group of Presidential candidates whose views are more diametrically opposed. I get worried when I read suggestions like this because it makes me think that some of Dr. Paul's supporters don't really know the moral underpinnings of his freedom message.

Stop

Seriously, you have no idea what Ron Paul stands for by making such a suggestion. Kucinich is a socialist. Just because they're both against the Iraq war means nothing. 70%+ of America is against the Iraq war.

Don't be fooled

Kucinich from his own website. "Kucinich is currently drafting legislation that would ban the purchase, sale, transfer, or possession of handguns by civilians. A gun buy-back provision will be included in the bill."

That to me makes him very dangerous. Don't be fooled. He is nothing like Ron Paul. Some anti-war activists are admitted hardcore communists. Just because they are anti-war doesn't mean that Ron Paul agrees with them. Paul and Kucinich have completely opposing world-views.

I agree

well said

For me RP is the perfect canidate

I would never vote for anyone else, ever and hopefully I wont have to.

I like balance, they are both very truthful very outspoken very experienced politicians and neither is corrupt.

I think thats what we need honestly, and its hard to find

realistically if he did choose him he would sweep the whitehouse in a heartbeat

A troll is someone who

A troll is someone who doesn't support a website but posts junk on it. Say you are a Ron Paul supporter but you go to Huckabee's website and start posting Ron Paul threads or responses. That is a troll. A RINO stands for "Republican In Name Only" meaning they are a "Republican" but vote or take stances that are not mainline Republican, but what it really means is that they are a Republican but not conservative.

thanks

thank you this is still kinda new to me

Yeah

I think im in love

but im half rino

as always

Educated responses are great !

Ron Paul would NEVER choose a pro choice running mate

He is a man of principle. He also refers to himself as " an unshakable foe of abortion"- I really think that it would do his pro choice supporters some good to listen to him speak on this topic....

You may be right....

You are correct.
He also says consistently that he will need a consensus to make changes. He does not imagine that, upon entering office,he will make every policy change that he believes in immediately.
I am pro choice but also agree with RP that it needs to be out of federal jurisdication. [beyond the inconsistencies we have in applying laws, the outright engineering and use of population control via birth control and family planning-as a means to control not empower-has me seeing red. I'm so over it. There are other democrats out there who feel similarly-the ones who have realized this whole women's empowerment movement was a scam from the beginning]
You are likely correct that he would not choose Dennis-I personally do not think it would help him (nor do I particulary want Dennis],but I did see him asked that question in an interview, and he was not definitive in his answer.

He will choose a pro life libertarian

Ron Paul Dennis Kucinich

pro life pro choice

small gov't large gov't

low tax high tax

He will choose a libertarian/ conservative.

Wrong again

Ron Paul Dennis Kucinich

pro life pro choice

small gov't small gov't

no tax moderate tax

He will choose who he wants to

anti war anti war
pro constitution pro constitution

how can you call anyone who

how can you call anyone who wants to replace privately owned industries with government owned ones small government? The taxes alone for a national health care system would mean that we'd essentially have to make large cuts elsewhere in our budget just to keep the same sized budget. He also supports raising taxes on the rich. Ron Paul is way too principled to take a socialist running mate. Especially with given that he's "seen a UFO" it would kill the RP campaign overnight since people would just see RP as a nutjob like Kucinich

UFO's-might not work against him

I think you'd be surprised at how many people believe in UFO's-closet believers. I'm just sayin'.....

well if he is a man of principle..

How could he nominate someone who is in disagreement with him on a very important issue?

I agree that he will choose who he wants to, but Ron Paul isn't a flake.

Why Not Dennis Kucinich?

That is a very nice video, and it elevated him in my eyes. Thank you for linking it. But I've heard him say that he wants universal health care, and a constitutional federal government has no business being involved in health care. That's socialistic. I admit that I don't know his other stances, but his stance on that one is enough for me not to consider him as Dr. Paul's running mate.
