What Happens After Ron Paul?

What I wanted to ask the other members was if they saw the same value in this movement that I did...no matter what happens in the end? Like many of the younger supporters, this was the first time I ever cared about being involved w/ politics. The answer, of course, was yes, they did see the same value I saw. It's been amazing to be involved in this growing movement---it almost seems too good to be true. Yet, there is this secret feeling inside that tells me that Fate is on Ron Paul's side. I remember watching an interview in which Ron Paul said something like, "who knows, the odds seem against us but maybe I'll be at the right place at the right time...maybe the dollar will start to crash and people will be looking for some real answers." I can't remember when this happened, but it sure gave me chills. No doubt, Ron Paul is a jewel. A jewel shining in a pile of s--t, to quote a musician friend.
But...what are we going to do after this Ron Paul movement. I must admit, I hope and secretly expect that Ron Paul will run 3rd pary. Putting that aside, which will be keeping us all pretty busy for the next year!, what happens after the election--Ron Paul winning or not? Obviously, if he wins, we will need to start forming a special militia to protect him (probably the only military service I would ever get involved in). Okay, sorry I'm having a hard time getting to my point:
We need to be ready to keep this movement going no matter what happens. I'd like to hear some ideas from Daily Paulers about how they see us keeping this Revolution going.
I believe we should have a transition name ready for all of our local groups to keep these ideas alive. I like the term "Liberty Caucus."
I don't believe we should call it/us Libertarian. That said, I have joined the local Libertarian meetup because of RP---so I mean no disrespect. I'm just thinking that we should keep this trans-party aspect.

Afterwards everyone should join the John Birch Society, the same organization that Ron Paul is a life long member of, and GET INVOLVED in the many battles going on in this nation!

All of you hoping for a third party effort are no friends of Ron Paul.
Either you join the Republican Party and think of yourselves as a Ron Paul Republican and make the changes from the inside and together we will win the GOP nomination for Ron Paul. Ron Paul is running as a Republican.

I think we can all agree that Ron Paul is an intelligent man? Obviously more so than most of us. Much more so than people that assume to know more than him.. and there's a LOT of them out there.
The thing is, if he really knew he had NO chance at all, he would bail out!
I personally think he'll run 3rd party as well. Think about it, his reasons for not running 3rd party have been money and difficulty being heard. The money won't be an issue after the 16th. He has the biggest Promotional army anyone could ever ask for.
Can you just imagine if Ron Paul suddenly asked all of his supporters to hit the ground running and promote the hell out of him!? If he was 3rd party, no one could stop him.
On another note, I have suspicions of Lou Dobbs running 3rd party.

Run for Local Government
I think those of us who are able should run for local offices and do our part to serve in a manner similar to Dr. Paul. We should spread the ideas of freedom by example. We should communicate with our friends and neighbors about liberty, our rights, the purpose of government in the U.S., etc.
That, by the grace of God, is how we will change this country.
Remember to those of you who are Christians out there, the Bible places the blame for how good or bad things in our nation are going directly on us and the way we are living.

Upon reflection
This whole idea of what Ron Paul is running on has me reflecting on past events. Here is a controversial name that one might want to rethink. Timothy McVeigh....If memory serves I think his rantings went on about the Govt abuse etc... While if their is a movement, real revolution for this, I will certainly join but I am not going to be the only SOB going to go down like McVeigh did. Its a toss up for me, either fight, or head for the hills and wait for it all to get sorted. While Ron Paul is counting on the American people to vindicate themselves, I unfortunately dont know if thats a reality. The American populous is as smart as there shoe size, and if thats in double digits then I'm giving them to much credit.
I will be voting for Ron Paul either way, this seems to be the path of least resistance.

It's been mentioned before and I'll say it again. Ron Paul is out first plan at bringing liberty to America, but its not the only one.. your next move should he fail, best be a move to New Hampshire to join the Free State Project.
Our country's next revolution will come in our life time
I don't think we're quite there yet, but pretty soon enough Americans will wake up to the fact that our country is sliding away from the vision our Founding Fathers had for America. I don't know about everyone else, but I would die before I'd let the government hold me down and put a microchip in my arm. Dr. Paul is convinced that this revolution must be nonviolent, and I hope and pray it will be, but someday we're going to have to draw the line.

the election process is rigged, they control the 600 electors, ron paul will not win.
here's why.
if he won, he will abolish the federal reserve in week 1.
and open all the arcives for all to see.
that will lead to treason trials and public hangings.

and to protect their treasonist necks.
if they cant kill him they will pull another 911 to stop the election process and usher us into martial law and world gov.

ps - welcome simpleman. Your information is not accurate in pretty much all of your post. I'd suggest you read up a little more on exactly what Ron Paul can and cannot do immediately.
Get involved in local politics
Other posters on threads have emphasized the need to begin working at your local level to elect leaders who are in line with RP's position of liberty,the constitution and sound money.
Remember: RP has said himself that all he can do is give people back their freedom,but it is up to them.
He is going to give back freedoms the fed. govmt. has taken away.
The system originally was meant to be based on local and state sovereignty,united for a common cause.
It's not trickle down government.
So I agree with others that thinking globally,and acting locally,on this issue is key.
Of course,it may seem less exciting and interesting,unless you live in NYC or SFO,maybe-but it's good,honest work!

Right now all I focus on is Ron Paul winning the republican nomination. Whenever thoughts about what happens if he doesn't win arise, I put them out of my mind.
Even if Ron Paul wins,
there are still other political offices, lots of them, that are being run contrary to the Constitution. So it's not really a matter of "if he doesn't win".

I do sincerely hope this Ron Paul-ignited freedom movement goes on regardless of this election. This is bigger than an election.
One thing we could do post-election is concentrate our numbers in a free-state or free-county effort, so as to be able to live in freedom at least on the local level. I am part of the Free State Wyoming, and other posters on this site, as you may have noticed, are in the New Hampshire Free State Project.
If you are one who has never heard of the strategy, you may wish to consider it! I personally think it is a realistic, workable, and exciting possibility. I think a state is too big to start, however, and would prefer to attain saturation and total victory on a county level first, then move up to state if we have the numbers.

Right. The easiest way is to simply say to yourself "I don't want this to be my number any more. I disavow it; I disown it; it's no longer my number." And then stop using it. That last is the hard part.
There are forms you can send in and stuff, but it's largely a symbolic gesture.
