What in the world is a irreversible recession? Is there such a thing?

Obama stresses urgency of now in plea for economic stimulus bill
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama warned on Thursday that failure to pass an economic recovery package could plunge the nation into an even longer, perhaps irreversible recession, as senators searched for compromises to whittle down the enormous bill.

"irreversible recession" ? A recession that cannot be
reversed? Some kind of evil economic train wreck that has a beginning but no end? Is this the Dalai oBama's way of warning of some kind of perpetual economic hades into which we will be plunged, to forever suffer......if foolish and sinful enough to refuse to bow our heads and, presumably on bended knee, accept and follow his divine guidance? Sounds like Washington, D.C. is still hip-deep in hyperbole as well as hypocrisy. That stuff is straight off the stable floor.

Look at the bright side!
Those in power are not about to free us slaves. We are and have been fleeced for quite a long time by the passage of laws by the federal government that make the economic playing field uneven and transfer wealth out of the pockets of the vast majority into the hands of the privileged few. The loaning of new money into existence and charging interest on the loans by the banks is one example of many.
The distribution of wealth in the US is increasing making us look like one big pre civil war Southern plantation.
The only thing that let them get away with screwing us was the expanding economic pie that resulted from the discovery and subsequent exploitation of oil beginning back in 1848. A small fraction of the expanding economic pie found its way into the average man's hands, thus making fighting against the system of exploitation more painful than just going along to get along. But now that the oil age has reached maturity and is faltering, and now that the scam monetary system is falling apart, we are facing a new time. Very quickly the pain from going along to get along will exceed the pain of civil war, and nature will take her course.
It won't matter that those in power intend to stay in power and continue the system of plunder and control because this will no longer be acceptable to the suffering majority. In actuality, the economic plan of the central government planners will bring about a quicker end to the federal government than would doing nothing, so maybe we should applaud Obama and his minions in Congress for doing what they are naturally inclined to do, i.e., screwing us citizens.

Congress can stuff it !
The first bailout was a dud, the second bailout should fare no better.

I hopped in the car and
I hopped in the car and heard Glenn Beck sounding off on this same article today for quite some time. Obama talks as if there's no second chance. It's this stimulus, or no stimulus. That's how it sounds to me. Glad to hear we can't just try writing a new, or different, one tomorrow ( Not that I advocating that!) Obviously I'm a fan of the no stimulus argument.
In hindsight, Paulson seemed like a school child in fear mongering tactics compared to Obama.
He may be right about one
He may be right about one thing: That we can never recover. How can we when the government goes from stupid moves to stupider ones? Add to that the increasing resistance of people and states to the bloated, corrupt, out of control federal govenment and the best bet looks more and more states pulling out of the union, a move from which the federal government will never recover. If the states and the people refuse to accept responsibility for this massive illegal debt to the illegal Federal Reserve being heaped upon us by traitors and idiots, the federal government will pretty much be finished.

That is another way of saying "Depression."
And we all know the only way to get a country out of depression, and that is called "war." Get your passports ready, especially for your sons and yourself if your are draft able. He is not talking fun and games.
Maybe the government will finally close the borders, in order to keep us inside!!!! Prisoners in our own country and war fodder.
I heard that too. WTF?? We can NEVER?? recover?
Is it as sickening to the rest of the country? Does Obama believe that without the government, people cannot possibly prosper? This guy's worse than Bush and he's not even been there a month yet.
I wonder if we could help
I wonder if we could help educate people when posting stimulus opposition comments to places or such by linking to all the "buyer beware" web sites that ALL say that whenever someone says you must "act now", or that an offer is only good "for 24 hours" or whatever that you should walk away.
Here's Obama trying to steal... I mean sell something and using the exact same sales tactics. So, let's walk away.

Since we're already in a recession
and on the verge of depression, his statement is semi-right. just another politician trying to talk out of both sides of his mouth with different messages.
