I think I am giving up......just not in.

I am afraid to say it but I believe that liberty is a lost cause in this country.

I want so much to believe that I am wrong. I persauded myself that I was throughout the campaign season.

The evidence to the contrary is enormous. Look around you and what do you find? Every media pundit, every politician, and nearly the entire population (there are a few exceptions in each) clamor for more government. They swoon for Obama's rhetoric. They loathe logic and economic law.

I am just tired. I am tired of discussing politics/economics with people who have no desire to hear me. I am tired of the lack of thought. I am tired of the apathy and ignorance.

I will always be one to seek liberty, but I will not sacrifice my life trying to convince others not to steal from me, destory the economy, and destroy what was once the most free and prosperous nation on Earth.

I will continue to read, learn, and write about the ideas of liberty. I will still fight an intellectual battle.

Im thinkin about moving to New Zealand before this depression really hits the United States. Climb some mountains, do some organic farming and get out of this insanity. Get away from the degradation of our culture in all forms (music, reality television, promiscuity). I just think that if I stay here......I am going to go insane.

Does anyone else feel this pressure? Does anyone else feel sane yet trapped in a madhouse?

I'm tired too

and I know how you feel. So take a break and come back refreshed.

What we do in life echo in eternity.........

I just look back at where we came from, where we are now, and where we are going...Think about how much progress we have made so far. Spankz look at how many people join this site and others freedom loving groups compared to last year....You may not see it yet, "but it's there"...Like a ripple in a lake after you throw a pebble in it....
Don't forget, you are not the only one here talking to people everyday and geting rejected...What about the thousands of patiriots that was at the march in Wasington this past summer...Don't you think they are speaking to everyone they know and other they don't?

"Observe the masses, and do the opposite."

I understand your frustration, but...

...The truth is, you can't give up as long as Tyranny dominates the planet.

Going to a pretty country with a less beastly government, like New Zealand, might ease your mind in the short run, but until there is a true free nation on the planet, there is no real sanctuary. The US and EU and communist countries will continue to dominate the world, and their long shadow will fall across it.

Now, if you want to completely withdraw from politics, shut out the world, and block it from your mind, aiming for a simpler existence, you can do that in North America. You can enjoy nature while tuning out the noise of the jackboots anywhere that is far from the city and civilization.

Freedom from the system that binds us

It does none of us any good to just complain about everything on here or plan to escape to a faraway land. Sure that land might be better than the USA, but it won't last forever in bliss. This is our country, let's take it back! We need to start sharing our own homegrown food locally. We need to start trading goods and services in gold and silver. We need to become an subculture self-sufficient society so that when the $*#( hits the fan, we don't even need the fan, because we have our own. We need to:

1. Generate our own food for our families first and then each other.
2. Generate our own power and fuel
3. Trade work / services in gold and silver coins
4. Protect our families and each other
5. Stop trying to change the system, just start a new one
6. Stop being afraid, and speak out

And much more...add to the list!

Let's do this people!

Over?

Face it

They own the whole damn planet. And outer space as well. You can run but you can't hide.

My friend in Atlanta called and said he is depressed and worried

about his job. Then he said that America needs a leader to rise up and rebel against this crooked govt. Of course I did my duty and pointed him towards Ron Paul and the daily paul. Some one will come out of this as a leader to right the ship.

IT IS NOT A WASTED VOTE!

The more we learn...

about the depth of corruptednes within and surrounding our systems of government, the more disheartening it becomes. Our adversaries have done a masterful job of causing many of the barriers you describe. But I often think of that single termite who takes the final micron of fiber out of the rotted tree causing it to topple. Were it not for the work of the many thousands of of other termites having taken their portion, that last bite may never have come. It will take all of us nibbling away at the beast, even though many of us living today may not live to realize our dreams.

Times are different

Give spankz some slack. If it came down to firing guns, Any one of us would do it. There is also a psychological war going on here, and it is damn difficult. I almost got involved in this sham govt by joining the armed forces. I didnt, and I have been picking up the pieces of my life for over a year now. We are outgunned, in more ways than just firepower. I still keep the fight alive, but on a much more local level these days. If you are out in the country you will be better off, in my opinion. Learn what you can, take a breather from this, and show those around you the truth when they are ready to listen instead of cramming it down their throats. They will come around.

I didnt say that

and you should know better.

I know what you mean

This past year has been exhausting. We have focused on so much of the negative and fought so hard to make a difference. It doesn't look like we have done much. But the Revolutionary War went on for years and years. It was a long, hard fight. I am older so I don't think I can keep it up. However, most of you here are young so this is your future. It is either fight or lay down and die.
I am looking at Ecuador as my escape route. However, there is no place this side of Heaven that doesn't have its problems. I am trying to look more at the positive things in my life while still not being stupid. It has helped. Hang in there.

NO!!!!

Stay and fight!

This is OUR country damnit!

You and I and all of us will be heard when the economy totally collapses this summer.

Now is not the time to pack your bags, now is the time to lock and load.

I will fight to the end, even if the end is bitter.

I have already started the application process to NZ

It is a lengthy process. You first need to qualify just to be reviewed. If you don't qualify then there is no review. Upon review, a committee has to approve your application for the next step.

It is difficult to become a NZ citizen. I have a Master's degree and 17 years of work experience and I just barely qualified for enough points for review.

Poke around here to get started....

So it would be impossible

So it would be impossible for a young adult to move to NZ? As in me being 20, I have no degree nor that many years of work experience.

Well.....

I don't know all of the rules, but I do know that the younger you are, the easier it is. I am 42, so my age works against me. I actually lost points for my age.

They don't want you to be a liability to their system. That is why they want work experience. They also don't want you taking jobs away from native NZ people. There are shortage areas such as construction, doctors, teachers, and other professions.

At 20, I would say your best bet would be to apply to a college in NZ, then get offered a job when you graduate.

It is easier to get citizenship if you already have a job offer. You can get a work visa then apply for citizenship once you are already there and working.

Go to the link I posted, all the information is there that you need.

Never give up spankz! This struggle for true freedom has

been going on for centuries. It has always been a process.

We are getting very close to dismantling 'the net'.

Frankly, we have absolutely nothing left to lose anymore because it was 'taken' from us in the legislative process, but that does not mean they will get to 'keep it that way for long'.

Impossible. Too many of us have found out their cunning ways and means thanks to the internet.

Have you checked on the cost of immigrating to NZ?

Last I checked, the fee for immigrating was $300,000 usd.

Do you perhaps mean

that, besides the fees one should have a total of savings of 300,000 USD (which might be to ensure that you will not be relying on the social services of NZ when you enter but have enough to keep your head above water until you secure a job and accomodation).

Having been through the migration process myself, I know the fees could be steep but not that steep.

all that information can be

all that information can be found on nz's website

New Zealand

I don't think you will be alone. I have heard other people saying they want to move to New Zealand, if things go bad here. One of my friends wants us to move there too, next door. Maybe you can live across the street. lol

We here on Daily Paul

know that Obama's policies will not work, so there is only
one man's policies that will work and he is Ron Paul.

Write opinion's in all newspapers, send in why your local media is
wring to favor such and such policies, get Ron Pauls
name out in areas that you might thin k he has no chance
but sooner than you think people are asking more about
Ron Paul and his movement C4L.

Nobody ever said anything is easy but it sure is correctable

Please-

Please People, our struggles will be hard and Long-

Just Think how far we have come.

And more importantly, remember Dr. Paul has been fighting for freedom for almost 50 or so years!

The seeds are sewn!

I know what you mean. I had

I know what you mean. I had my parents totally convinced about Ron Paul, and they ultimately became Obama lovers. They think he'll fix everything. Man, if I can't even convince my parents, then I've got problems. But, there are many neo-con republicans who now realize how lame McCaint was, and now they are starting to see the light. I also have drilled liberty issues into my kid's heads. They will continue my fight. So all in all it was worth it. I don't have the energy I did for the last bailout, and this one will pass. I guess it will have to get real ugly for people to snap out of their stupor. I will be at peace with whatever happens, because I saw it coming.

I haven't given up, but I feel a little apathy sneaking in and it's depressing. I will just have to take care of business locally, because that's all I have control over right now.

Don't take it personally as far as family members go

They just don't respect your opinion; and this happens quite often - which means they probably need to hear this stuff from someone else.

If they keep hearing it from other sources, then they might start believing it (ever hear the phrase: "a preacher cannot preach nor can a doctor heal in his hometown" ..or something like that).

I am tired, too

-------------------
Do what you can, and no more.

Protect those things that are important to you first: You health, your family and your sanity.

This also is a stand for liberty. Most people abuse their health and families, and are generally insane. Taking care of yourself is a statement to the world that you matter, if to no one else, then to yourself.

With any energy you have in reserve, do what you can.

My high school running coach always used to say this: "All we can ask is that you do your best."

But take care of yourself first.

I Am Only One----

I am only one,
but I am one.

I cannot do everything,
but I can do something.

And because I cannot
do everything, I will
not refuse to do the
something that I can do.

What I can do,
I should do.

And what I should do,
by the grace of God,
I will do.

~Edward Everett Hale~
