How the Over-Paid Campaign Staff Let Ron Down --- Again

NJ Reporter, Paul Mulshire (who has written very favorably about Ron) covered the huge rally in Philly on Nov. 10 and how Ron's paid campaign staff totally bungled (or sabotaged?) the media, press conference, and more.

He states: "Eichel's irate reader, like mine, no doubt believed that journalists were conspiring to keep the campaign out of the press. Actually it's Paul's own staff that is conspiring to do so. The conspiracy seems to be succeeding. Despite unparalleled grass-roots support, Paul's poll numbers are failing to match his very impressive fund-raising totals."

Read his entire article:

http://www.nj.com/columns/ledger/mulshine/index.ssf?/base/co...

He concludes "It's encouraging that Paul has so many amateurs supporting him. Now if only he could find a few professionals."

This is inexcusable. What do you think?

Wake Up People

Moles in campaigns are nothing new in fact they are to be expected. I read the Pillsbury piece a couple or three weeks ago via e-mail and from my background, I know it to be true.

I've known Ron for years and he always supports his staff no matter what. Sometimes it has taken years before he see the light. That is because he is a good honorable man and wants to see the good in everyone. Sometimes it just takes him longer to see what is going on because of the trust factor. That is not a bad thing but in a short time campaign cycle it can be deadly. I personally know that several people have documented pages of proof of inadequacies. It is too soon for Ron to see them as accurate. He has come further than he ever thought he would and largely we the volunteers have made that happen although I think he gives a lot of credit to the campaign.

When you look at all the top notch political advisors out there today - John Shroate, Richard McBride, Dennis Whitfield, Bill Lee etc., etc., it is hard to know why Ron isn't using them. Again, I believe that he believes his staff has a large role in where he is today. Not that he doesn't give all volunteers a large amount of credit as well - he does - but that does not negate his feelings about the competency of his staff.

I have also noticed that when other campaigns have "spokesmen" on national TV they have the honorary chairmen in the state, volunteers or people of the caliber mentioned above. I have been in and managed a lot of campaigns and the rule of thumb was that the staff be invisible. I don't think a press conference announcing the results of Ron's money bomb by Kent was appropriate and if the staff are professional at all they would know this. They would also be familiar with the AP day book.

Just "getting over this" and going on is tantamount to getting the majority to vote for Ron and then having no ballot security. In the long run you loose either way if you don't address the problems at hand. I think there are enough of us to keep up the good volunteer work and monitor any inadequacies we see in the campaign as well. It doesn't have to be either or.

Although many staff inadequacies and documentation of them come to mind, I have to use the word sabotage when I speak of ballot security for the upcoming elections. No one on Ron's staff is doing anything about it and in fact in a couple of conference calls I have been on, they seem to resent those volunteers who are taking things into their own hands. That attitude is either complete inexperience (given some of their backgrounds or lack thereof, that may be the case) or sabotage. There is just no other way to look at it from where I am standing.

I truly believe the best thing to do is for all of us across the nation to run Ron's campaign just as we are doing. When staff gets involved as they did in the once independent meetup groups, they want to control.

After months of dealing with them I think the volunteers just need to "roll" in planning events and a ballot security program as well as keep an eye on the campaign but not involve them.

Any criticism of the staff goes through Kent and I bet Ron never sees most of it. A couple of my close friends have talked on the phone to Ron about this directly so I know that approaching him about this is irrating and unbelievable becasue of how well he sees himself doing.

He is a wonderful human being and I think we should not just "move on" but "move around" the staff. That is the only way we will get him elected.

I've posted on here before and have been blasted so as someone else stated - please don't blast me for an opinion.

This all sounds true

However, this campaign will be won not because of any "man's" skill or technique. It will be won because of the spiritual power behind it. Just before he died,Aaron Russo said on an Alex Jones interview, that he could sense a spiritual power moving across the country that was lifting Ron Paul into position.
I may be in the minority in my beliefs, but I am not alone. I'll take a less competent campign staff any day as long as it's empowered by our Creator.

Confusion-A Tool Of The Enemy

And I mean Devil when I say enemy.
People inside and outside of this movement don't know what they are talking about alot of the time.
Not because they are un-intelligent or insincere....but because they are trying to read the situation through worldly eye sight rather than spiritual vision. Its kind of like night vision lenses. Things look almost opposite to what they are. the outcome keeps exceeding expectations. We do better everytime we get hit.
First, I have met this campaign team face to face. They are sincere, honest, hard working people. They may not be "slick" enough for some but they are principled. So all this talk about internal sabotage is BULLSPATTER.
This campaign is a classic David vs. Goliath story. We should by now realize that the more we are attacked, the happier we should be. It has served us well everytime. Not just because it serves to garner more attention. But because they are attacking an ambassador of God. Real simple-like it or not-that is what's happening.
I have first hand experience that this is true.
So BE HAPPY!

I resent that remark...

Hey- I resent that remark :) Actually, I will remain neutral on this subject - seems there are some valid arguments both ways - NOT about sabatoge... thats just being PARANOID... but incompentance perhaps... who really knows anyway... but G&% I refuse to say his name! This is a rediculous topic to discuss... I am sure Ron Paul knows who is competent and who is not because *he* is competant...

Let me suggest we take a step back...

If this was a genuine mistake...then something can be learned from it. If it was something else, I believe people have been made aware and will be watching. Ron Paul has one of the smallest and youngest staffs of any of the candidates...and I'm sure their working hard...let's give them the benefit of the doubt...but quietly suggest...they do better next time.

On the PR people...did Gandhi need a PR person? Did Martin Luther King need PR people? Actions...speak much louder than words my friends!!!

Mistakes Happen

I think it's a little early for any theories just yet. Mistakes inevitably will happen, it's jut a question of how many and to what extent. Obviously there are areas in which the campaign has needs, lets identify them and help ensure they are resolved successfully.

frustrating

Ok this is terrible. I have had scary thoughts about the whole campaign.
What if they do not want to win never thought of winning and didnt expect this support?

What if they have to try now to not win?
On Leno RP said "it's now a risk we might win" as if he wasn't wanting to?

He has to know the people he hired? Such as this lobbiest guy?
He never drops the name if his site on live appearances or talk shows.....

now this is getting retarded here but still possible.
People in the "truth movement" claim Alex Jones is a Shill used to divert attention from real leaders which I wont go too much into. I do happen to believe this may be highly possible.
Whats the best way to divert..... control the alternate media/ AJ is way behind RP which wouldnt be true if something fishy wasnt brewing.
Sure RP has the solid record but when you're working on a plan such as this that has been in the makes for 50+ years you need a "Dr. No" on the inside.... it wouldn't hurt the agenda cause he would be the only one voting that way and make no effect. it would gain a loyal following though.

either way if he was a NWO, Anti Christ or whatever I am whole heartedly behind him and supporting and spreading the word.
I am just scared because of a lot of mistakes and messups and things that I do see as sabatoge.

Please do NOT flame me for having an opinion. I am fully behind him and staying behind him.

God no. Not another "Allen Hacker derailed the Michael Badnarik campaign" fiasco (Google is your friend). I had a feeling this would happen eventually. I just never figured it would start before we even got any bad news.

*If* Paul doesn't win, his entire campaign team should change their names and retreat to a remote Montana cabin for six months, before the villagers come knocking with torches and pitchforks.

    *sigh*

    I spoke to Jesse Benton....

about what his job function entailed in the campaign as Communications Director just a couple of weeks ago. He told me it was his responsibility to communicate directly with the MSM. It seems this inexcusable major screw-up lies directly with him. I think we need to let Ron Paul know exactly how we feel about this but obviously it is up to Ron Paul to deal with this problem.

Time to SCRUTINIZE some of the PAID STAFF -- Here's Why !

If anyone believes the N W O crowd (NeoCons -- and I'm being polite in that description) -- doesn't have BILLIONS to hire sleepers to sabotage any effort that threatens the Ruling Elite -- please WAKE THE HECK UP !!!

The portal through which apparent BAD APPLES have been placed on the Ron Paul Campaign staff is through the bad part of the LIBERTARIAN MOVEMENT. Charles Koch, billionaire, great friend of the Bush family, head of Koch Industries (a clone of Haliburton with BIG contracts in Iraq RIGHT NOW ), is the FOUNDER and FUNDER of the Cato Institute. His money also took over the Libertarian Party at the top in 1981. Go to Wikipedia for Charles Koch to get a pretty good bare bones summary.

Cato Institute and related Koch (pronounced Coke) money people is how BAD APPLES were apparently planted in the Ron Paul campaign.

Google "Enemy Within: Cato's Covert Agenda" by Melissa Pillsbury-Foster --- here blog is www.HowTheNeoConsStoleFreedom.blogspot.com

    Mistakes happen

I am sure this will not happen again. We need to get over this. :-]

Do you really think his staff is overpaid compared to others?

The Press Conference that Never Was

I don't get it. So the Ron Paul campaign didn't publicly advertise a press conference and then there was no press conference... It sounds like very compitent work to me!

The campaign manager is supposed to be really good

I read the campaign manager is the guy who ran Pat Buchanon's campaign buchanon did really good running I beleieve third party

    Nope..

Pat won NH as a Republican. This was likely a scheduling glitch or communications oversight. Please stop wasting time on conspiracy theories!

If some of you spent half the time you do on this stuff, attending GOP meetings and events and traveling around your state talking to people, you could do a lot more good than trying to place blame for one press conference out of many.

    Jane Aitken

    you're exactly right!!

''If some of you spent half the time you do on this stuff, attending GOP meetings and events and traveling around your state talking to people, you could do a lot more good''

Find information on your State - vote for Ron Paul and become a Delegate and or Precinct Chair!
    http://www.ronpaul2008.com/states/

Do you KNOW how to become a Delegate for Ron Paul? -- Do it!

    OMG... I agree with Jane??

Hell has frozen over - I actually agree with Jane about something. This is a stupid topic and not worthy of wasting time on it. You posters cant do anything about it - Ron Paul's campaign *can* do something about it and I am sure the true people behind Ron in his campaign are savy enough to discuss mistakes and correst them.
If they feel there is sabotage, they will correct it. Unless you want to go so far as to say *all* of his campaign members are against him and that is PARANOIA to the extreme....
I *suggest* you spend time more productively...
Check out CATCH A FALLING SNOWFLAKE... it was recommended to me and I tried it and it was fun and I got like 30% positive responses as most older people using that website seem to be military moms and wives etc... they are sympathetic to our cause... I just dont email anyone who is not in USA as thats non-productive time of course....
Its a great place to vent frustration.

No! Campaign manager Lew Moore was a Lobbyist

For the NW Straits Commission. He lobbied for taxpayer money to keep it going----that's how he got paid. He lobbied Sen. Patty Murray who delivered the taxpayer money every year. Prior to that he was a congressional aide.

    Go ahead --- Google it.

2 news station covered it im from philly news paper didn't

I didn't read anything in the philadelphia inquire + daily news but it's tough the sunday paper is the only newspaper and sometimes if news doesn't come in they don't get reported till mon but I saw anything I bought the paper to specifically see something

    I can tell you

All of Jewelers Row knew about it.
My dad told me that all his jeweler friends at his Center City store was talking about it. He's big there, ESPECIALLY because most gold/silver scrap buyers know the market and what's going on. It's not isolated to Philly either, I find the scrappers that sell to me talk about him too.

    I trust RP

    Ron Paul is the boss.

You read a article from some journalist and start internal trouble with a campaign thats whoopin ass. Think about it.

    BUT

Ron is a sweet, honorable, principled man.....which means he has NO place in marketing! lol Sad but true. I believe the campaign could benefit from some additional marketing/PR experience.

    Ron knows what he's doing

Ron's been kicking ass and taking names for 30 years, he knows what he's doing. He's a nice guy because he's a pacifist, that doesn't mean he wouldn't be an ardent defender when there is injustice.

You saw Ron Paul when he's pissed off at the debates, he burned Romney for being an idiot. If he saw his campaign manager acting the fool I'm sure he would have burn scars on him.

People often mistake being a nice guy with being a wimp.

Ron Paul eats nails for breakfast....without milk!

    Amateur Campaign

He has a point. Ron Paul has a huge grassroots volunteer campaign. In the early going we are flying by the seat of our pants. We are learning as we go and doing a lot of things better the second time around.

    Thank you liberty lover

For your intelligent and insightful analysis. You made so many excellent points -- but one struck me greatly...... Move the campaign to Texas --- OUT of "Inside the Beltway" with its accompanying bureaucratic mentality. The real campaign is out here - That's where the Revolution is.

    Winning & Bitching.

So now that Ron Paul is at least doubling his poll #s in the last month you want to fire his staff. Who are you working for?

I'm sure Ron Paul is going home with the ones who brought him to the dance. Let's just help his staff make his home the White House.

    staff let down

Ron Paul's success is about speaking the truth not 'talking points'
    *******

Sabatoge will be an ongoing problem that will loom larger as Dr Paul becomes more of a threat to the front runners.

Expect continued dirty tricks from the GOP neo-con Kool Aid drinkers. They are being paid by their campaigns to cause mischef in any and all opposing candidate's organizations.

There's nothing new here; this a fact of political life. This has happened to Ron Paul in his past congressional races by the way.

We must always stay vigilant as to who we allow on our state campaign committees. I have seen this kind of foolishness too many times to count over the years.

We cannot court every 'Republican' in every county. Simply because they can't all be trusted.

Find a small hard core of trustworthy staff for your county and stick with them.

Be careful of a big donar that appears from nowhere. Be careful of "true believers" who try to blow you away with activism.

This is going to be a knock-down drag-out bare-knukle campaign to the White House and, we still haven't encountered the thuggish marxists of the Clinton campaign yet.

    Get ready.

Expect anything to happen; then, immediately deal with it, cut the head off of the serpant.

Don't just sit around a whine.

Ron Paul's success is about speaking the truth not 'talking points'
