watching Obama's speach today...
... funny how Obama uses the exact same tricks that bush did to push through his agenda, but being more charasmatic people don't see it.
Specifically, he begins with the "Republican" governor of Florida introducing him. The governor makes it quite clear that we need a "bi-partisan solution" and implies to wild cheers that if you don't agree with Obama's spending bill, you must be persuing a partisan agenda and not interested in helping the country. Obama then takes center stage and begins with a quote from Abe Lincoln with "this is a government by the people and for the people". Spinning that his plan is for "the people" and if you don't agree with it, you are not.
I am writing from a hotel room on Pennsylvania Avenue. Alot of folks here are very excited about this new spending bill. For example, the State dept would get over $800 million to spend on IT projects. This "creates jobs" right?
The trick is the technique of using an emotion envoking catch phrase to turn off your brain. It works on the masses, go figure.
Hopefully the next generation is smarter, my children will be anyway.
