We're Screwed
I just spoke to my father today about this (early 70s) he seems to think that there should be a draft, in fact, "they never should have gotten rid of it" were his words.
He doesn't get it, most people I talk to don't get it. He feels like he served his time, and everybody should serve at least two years of service to their country.
Could someone please pull me from this Orwellian novel please?
Ron talks about young people . . . again
In this video Ron Paul talked about the theory behind the draft. After all, young people, years from now, will be the ones who are responsible for the outcome of this country's current state of affairs. That is, because, they will be saddled with a debt that we are incurring on them, right now, with all these spending bills. Thirty years from now this debt will still be on the backs of our children. Mark my words, more young people will start wising up, if you know what I mean.
That has to be considered with all the passion and forthrightness of young people - young people imbued with the ideas of freedom.

Any draft is a political failure
If these morons reinstate the draft it will be so much better to beat them down in the next elections. Mr. Rahm Emanuel will be running back to Chicago with tail between his legs like a beat dog.

I am so glad
to see him trying to head this off at the pass. But, I fear it will not work. Obama will get our young men and maybe our older men also and he will also get our babies, in his schools, just like Hitler. Hitler pretty much used and abused all of his men, did he not?

Dr. Paul is always so kind and so on target. He admits his own youthful naivete and says about drafting the young "when maybe someone is not so sophisticated and able to question."

and back when he served, it was still honorable, as far as everyone knew. Things were very secret then, now they are coming out. If I know what I know, then many must know far more. I frankly and very, very shocked to hear SOME people who are awake and what they actually know even though they only watch tv or work all the time. Just being thoroughly awake gives them the ability to pick out the truths, even though they are exposed to very little media and the ol' msm.
