Not sure if this has been posted, but a new Gun Liscense bill has been introduced. Thank God Ron Paul is watching it....

I can't stand the things our legislators are doing to us right now, especially right in our face, but I am always more afraid of what they do behind our backs - slight trick of hand. Like slipping in Daschels/Clinton Medical Reform into the stimulas - Good Grief!

24/7 email, fax, phone, snail mail, in person to your elected officials. Keep the pressure on hard and heavy. contact them every 1/2 hour or as often as your schedule permits Contact your state elected officials to enforce 9th and 10th amendment. get them to reject this bill like some states are doing with Real ID.

With the baltic dry index where it's at and all the bailout money going for things like acorn/foriegn investment plus that traitor stealing the census dept plus the all the crap they are going to pull in the next whole YEAR do you really think you are going to be able to afford or even have the food/gas or freedom to travel to DC in 2010??? Will the dollar last until then? Or will the military be walking the streets and posted on your corner???

into criminals. Get your state to proclaim states rights. MO constitution Article one section 23 gives " That the right of every citizen to keep and bear arms in defense of his home,person and property, or when lawfully summoned in aid of the civil power, shall not be questioned".
Interesting attempt to keep track of gun owners.
Theres two parts which really stand out as problematic. Section 104 with regards to renewal of this half baked license states that the license must be renewed 30 days prior to its expiration date. There is nothing stating what you must do with your guns if the Attorney General either deliberatly or due to the over whelming number of applicants (kinda like the TV convertor box fiasco) can not process your application in a timely fashion. Guess you are then a criminal if you don't dispose of your weapon. Second problem is section 801, Inapplicability to Government Authorities.What a transparent attempt to allow the rulers to have guns while controling or denying them to the ruled. Seems like we are creating a certain class of people here. Could be unconstitutional.

Didn't the British government require everyone to register their guns some years prior to full out confiscation? Maybe that's what the U.S. government is attempting to plan for.
The way our Congress conducts itself anymore I wouldn't be surprised with even the most crazy stuff from them these days.

also prohibits me personally selling you my gun, requires I have a written test to obtain a license etc.
I live in Fl and can walk into any gun dealer, fill out paper work confirming my identy, a quick background search and can walk out the door with a gun. Not sure about handguns that may require a 3 day wait, but it's not a matter of obtaining a license first and then renewing it every year or so.

In my area...
there are semi-legal black market gun salesmen who make a decent living retailing hunting rifles. you just walk up, negotiate a price, and hand them cash, and take the gun and leave. one of these people said he occasionally sells them to (probably illegal) central american immigrants.

yeah I wasn't sure on how many days delay on the handgun
but, just a few weeks ago we walked into a gun shop and bought a rifle with no wait. Simply the point being I don't have to get a license first....
