Add Splenda to the list!

Damn! I just got off the equal and switched to Splenda about 2 months ago. I must admit, I told my husband a few weeks ago that I really didn't feel any different or notice any changes after getting off of it, seems Splenda and Equal have similiar effects....

Anybody know if Stevia is better for you?

Natural foods are fine
but have little to do with promoting liberty. Maybe we need a different web site for "Raw Paul" foods.

it's also about HEALTH freedoms too. What good is anything if they steal your health? Major move to take all natural herbs and vitamins off the market by passing legislation you can only get them through your doctor - by a script. Do you think anyo f those meds will be natural.
It IS about food and food safety.
Why would you use a chemical
Why would you use a chemical to achieve the same sweetening power as sugar?
Sounds like you only have yourself to blame.
It's kind of like the idiots who use Marinol as opposed to Marijuana and then those same people wonder why they don't get the same relief.
Another important health
post here. Enjoy!

Food for Life is great, except
I wish they would remove the sprouted soy from all their products. That is the one ingredient not in Ezekiel 4:9. I have emailed them to ask them to remove it but I never received a response. Unfermented soy is an endocrine disruptor that messes with proper hormone levels, especially in guys as it acts to increase estrogen. If you guys wouldn't mind contacting them as well, maybe we can get them to remove this ingredient. There really is no reason why it's in there, in my opinion. Other than that, the breads and cereals are of the highest quality and have a great protein content. Sprouted products seem to be fine even for people with mild gluten intolerance.
There are similar breads sold under the Trader Joe's name that are also sprouted, contain no soy, and have equal or greater protein content, so the soy isn't in the Food for Life brand to add protein... I honestly have no idea why it's in there but I am tired of seeing soy in EVERYTHING. You just cannot get away from it. Please, if you agree with me, contact the company to request the removal of soy. Thanks!
Good food.
Only kind of bread I buy (Ez. 4:9 & Gen. 1:29, that is).

Heh
I'm a beer drinker! But I won't poke fun at you for enjoying your healthful and tasty snack.
I like Stevia
...and things sweetened with it (instant tea, hot chocolate, lemonade, etc).
Besides sugar I think it's the best alternative to sweeteners for drinks IMHO.

Splenda
is a chlorocarbon, and it's toxic as hell. Like aspartame, it should never have been allowed on the market. I find stevia to be not sweet enough and to have undesirable texture. Have you ever tried Sucanat, generically known as "evaporated sugar cane juice?" It's sugar with all the vitamins and minerals present in the whole cane that help with the digestion of the sugar. It's dark in color and has a brown sugar kind of flavor, so it's not a perfect substitute for white sugar, but it tastes good and I've even known diabetics who tolerate it well. I use it instead of white sugar in my brownie recipe, and they always turn out moist and delicious and no one ever complains.
Splenda, as far as I know,
Splenda, as far as I know, is made from Sugar - nothing else. It is actually Sugar with some part of it removed. Nothing is added. Not sure if any of that makes a difference with regards to it being ok.
Stevia is an extract made from leaves of the stevia plant. It was illegal in the U.S. for a long time. Then I think it switched to simply being illegal to market as a sweetener. I've read articles about entire warehouses being seized simply because the company stated something on the package or in advertising about it being a sweetener. I'm not sure when it became legal as a sweetener, I think it was within the past few years... just in time for Coca Cola Company's Truvia sweetener which is made from Stevia. Stevia, by the way, was blocked by the sugar farmer lobbyists group (or something like that). It's been used in Japan for 30 to 40 years or so, or maybe longer, and it has gained a very significant portion of the sweetener market, maybe 35% or so. No adverse affects have been reported at all in Japan, as I read about that. Supposedly it's 300x sweeter than sugar.
I've used Splenda but have never tried Stevia, yet.

Splenda (sucralose) is made from sugar, nothing else? Not quite.
There is no question that sucralose starts off as a sugar molecule, it is what goes on in the factory that is concerning. Sucralose is a synthetic chemical that was originally cooked up in a laboratory. In the five step patented process of making sucralose, three chlorine molecules are added to a sucrose or sugar molecule. A sucrose molecule is a disaccharide that contains two single sugars bound together; glucose and fructose.
The chemical process to make sucralose alters the chemical composition of the sugar so much that it is somehow converted to a fructo-galactose molecule. This type of sugar molecule does not occur in nature and therefore your body does not possess the ability to properly metabolize it. As a result of this "unique" biochemical make-up, McNeil Nutritionals makes it"s claim that Splenda is not digested or metabolized by the body, making it have zero calories.

Stevia was never illegal. Just not FDA approved for use.
Very interesting. What I
Very interesting. What I mentioned about Splenda I read a few years ago, so maybe I'm not remembering correctly or the info was bad.
About Stevia, I think most or all of what I mentioned I learned from http://www.stevia.net/
...
Not true!
Stevia was banned from American markets in the 90s.
I stand corrected
Here's what I found:
Stevia has been used for centuries in South America and is the most popular non-caloric sweetener in Japan. In 1980, aspartame was approved for use as an artificial sweetener.....around the same time that saccharin was pulled off the market after studies showed potential cancer risks - coincidence? Stevia's own relationship with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is controversial at best. In the late 1980's, health food stores began selling stevia as a natural sugar substitute. When the FDA received an anonymous complaint about stevia, all imports and sales of the herb were banned in the US. After years of pressure from consumers and the health food industry, Congress passed the Dietary Supplement & Health Education Act in November 1994. This act permitted the purchase and sale of stevia as a dietary supplement - not as a food or food additive. The Act also set forth rigorous guidelines for the labeling, sales and marketing of the herb. Simply suggesting that the stevia be mixed with water could be construed as mislabeling and force a recall of the products. These burdensome regulations eventually led to the FDA's order to ban this book. For more information about the stevia/FDA controversy, read The Stevia Story, A Tale Of Incredible Sweetness And Intrigue by Linda & Bill Bonvie and Donna Gates.

they are all neuro toxins
Affecting your nervous system causing blindness, tumors. Honey or cane sugar are the best for you.
I use cane sugar.
Only 15 calories per teaspoon.
Tastes great.
And available as unbleached, or "sugar in the raw".
The whole idea that you can eat like a pig, and not get fat because you bought a diet Coke to go with your 12 Big Macs and 10 cartons of fries for lunch, ain't gettin' it.
But, that's what they'd like you to think, isn't it?
"Oh yeah! I'm on a diet! I drink diet soda with my bag of deep-fried pork rinds!"
Just speaking generally, not aimed at anyone here, of course.
What about Truvia?
There was an old thread which had the expert in these matters posting on it and suggesting an orange peel (I think) based powder you can order. Anyway, I recall there were questions about Truvia which is the latest Stevia
product on shelves. Anybody have that thread bookmarked?
Stevia! Stevia! Stevia!
Look for Stevia Plus.
Beware
They are sneaking that stuff into several products - even canned fruit.
You get very little warning that it's in there, just small letters saying "splenda" so you have to look closely.
Just be on guard for any product that is advertising "reduced sugar". If it says reduced sugar, then I guarantee that splenda is in it.

Splenda is poison yes
My mom had it everyday with coffee and had disgusting rashes for ever and couldnt figure out why or where they came from. She was constantly scratching them. I told her to try something besides splenda, she didnt believe me then a few weeks ago she went to the dr.'s and they told her the same thing. Shes been off for a week or two and the rashes and itching are completely gone and havent come back yet
Splenda is poison
plain and simple. Agave is fantastic and so is sugar. Keep it natural and stay healthy. By the way, equal & splenda will spike your sugar cravings. You will find if you go back to natural sweetners you won't have the sugar cravings. My husband is supposedly diabetic, that's another subject for another time, we aren't buying in to it anymore. But, once we got of the junk of artifical sweetners and went back to natural sugars we don't crave the sweets like we used to. Don't even have my mad chocolate cravings.

Take notice if headaches increase after splenda use
My wife and her best friend were once heavy users of splenda. After maybe two months of use they both started having headaches and weird dizzy feelings. My wife went to C.A.R.E.S., two different ear nose and throat doctors, and a neurologist without receiving much help. I recommended laying off the splenda after watching a documentary called "Sweet Misery, A poisoned world". The documentary didnt mention splenda, it was about aspartame but it made me wonder. I did a little research on the internet and found out that there are basically no studies done concerning splenda. Considering the information i had already studied concerning aspartame, MSG, and fluoride we went ahead and added splenda to the banned list. I should also mention that my wife has suffered from migraines for most of her life. In light of all this information we decided to take the spartan approach to the situation and just drink water, unsweet tea, or fruit juice. It has been almost three months now with no migraines or weird dizzy feelings (knock on wood). It could be coincidence or it could be that splenda is yet another NWO depopluation tool. We are going to take the safe route and just drink water. I hope someone finds this information useful.
