Seattle police chief to become nation's drug czar

Seattle police chief to become nation's drug czar
Seattle Times

Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske has accepted a job as the nation's drug czar in the Obama administration, according to a source in Washington, D.C., who is familiar with the administration's plans.

The source said today that Kerlikowske has been chosen to head the Office of National Drug Control Policy, a Cabinet-level position otherwise known as the drug czar. The office, established in 1988, directs drug-control policy in the U.S.
(note: the drug czar was not a Cabinet-level position until bush made it one in 2000!)
He has been an advocate of gun control and fought to pass the assault-weapons ban and has championed closing the background-check loophole at gun shows.....

simple

big liberal cities like Seattle will always push for communism agendas as they (the weak who have hot seat corporate jobs) need the working men and women to support their lifestyle.

perhaps decriminalization of

perhaps decriminalization of marijuana is just around the bend? maybe......hopefully....

What's with CZAR?

I'm so sick of hearing this word! The word CZAR during nearly my entire life, has been used to describe some corrupt, abusive, unlawful person such as the head of a drug cartel, etc. In my opinion, it's what belongs in another country, not the USA.

Can't they be called secretaries like they have always been referred to? Treasury Secretary, for example. Or should we just call him the Treasury Czar? What after that? Calling the president our "dear leader"?

It just amazes me that terms we once used to describe bad governments, individuals, enemies of our country, are now being used to name our government agencies. And the sad thing is, nobody seems to care except a few random people on a message board online.

Agree - Whats With This?

czar has been used more since January than ever before....
I think it is to de-sensitize the public .... get them familiar with the term
so when other items come along that have that communist aroma they
will "fall in" and learn the new salute....
