If RP started a RP Bank of Liberty - Would you participate?

Starting our own bank with low cost loans and low interest credit cards would consolidate our economic power as well as provide revenue to the liberty movement.
If the CFL started a RP Bank of Liberty - Would you participate?
»

fractional reserve
would it be a fractional reserve bank?
not that it makes much difference since i currently bank w/ fractional reserve banks.
I pledge, do you?
wonderful Idea
would we be depositing gold, coin only or would paper (fiat) be accepted?
You could get away from the credit reporting compaines
and use the real application of a persons creditworthiness
It would be a good time to set a new example!
.
Credit Union is the way to go... NO FED CONTROL!
"All great truths begin as blasphemies."
"Human beings with love and compassion are some of the most beautiful creatures in the universe... Those without are a plague on us all."
Credit Unions are still
Credit Unions are still highly regulated. I don't know the details, but I worked for a company once that provided software to run credit unions and it had all sorts of regulations built in to the system.
Anyway... Why a new bank? What we need is prosper.com but with GoldMoney instead of dollars. That's something I've been thinking of doing.
Yeap good idea
!
Yep
.
Sure, It might follow something like this

I was reading about this 2 days ago and thought it was something that the patriot community could work with.
A dedicated server with high security protection would work great.
The loans wouldn't be fractional reserves since it would be 1000's of people determining how much and who they could loan the money too, not a huge bank with a financial officer who has an interest in making as many loans as possible.
Would Ron Paul engage in fractional reserve banking?
He does not endorse fractional reserve banking and debt based money, so I seriously doubt that he would start such a bank or allow his name to be associated with such a fraud. His association with such a venture would discredit his entire honest money position.

Send the deposit slip
Yes...We would...because I know if RP does it..it will follow the True Laws and not some half assed baked idea the feds have of what a bank should be and be allowed to do.
I have not come this far and stayed this long because I have any doubt..I have only faith that Ron Paul is, and should go down in history as Americas new Founding Father....one that started a new wake up call.
I have faith in God-Christ-The Constitution-and Ron Paul
Some may not think thats much..but to me..its beginning of everything

Depends on what they have to offer.
If the C4L opened its own Dollar Store, whether or not I would be a regular shopper would depend upon its location and its ability to compete with Walmart.
What I actually want most in a bank is security. I want something that's like a big bank vault made of concrete bricks, that I know will never lend more money than it has, never associate with the Fed or the FDIC, allows no electronic contact with my accounts (even from me) unless I explicitly sign a paper requesting it, and so on.
Large and very secure safety deposit boxes would also be a good feature.

Electronic banking could be done with a minimum number of
locations.
I believe RP could find the right people to implement the best policies for it's customers. It could even be done as a non-profit!
I actually don't like electronic banking.
I don't think it's secure enough.
I like the idea of a bank specifically designed to store coins and valuables--tangibles. And to protect the FRNs you deposit as if they were real money.

I understand your thinking
But as far as I know all banks now do electronic - don't they?
Well, there's a niche.
A nineteenth century technology bank that really guards your wealth.

Would they practice usury?
or would the loan process be different?

It could be set up how ever the board and members wanted
it!
I would consider it IF..
the bank was completely transparent. If a bank wants to participate in the privilege of fractional reserve lending, as our current system is set up, then it's records must be completely open to inspection by anyone.
No lies, no obfuscation, just the ability for anyone to know the bank's financial standing at any time.
I think RP would know exactly who to put in charge to promote
these elements!
interesting
I would love to see our own money too with Ron Paul and Adam Kokesh on it.

I would love to see the CFL explore some more of these
activist initiatives. I realize RP can't do everything himself but within the ranks of his supporters there are all kind of talents.
oh and how about
Daily Paul Dollar with Michael Nystrom on it(^_^)

In a heartbeat.
Already pulled out of my bank (except for a little in a checking account) so the move would be quick.
How could this endeavor be sabotaged? It would certainly be an unpopular thing among the other banks. Since we have the knowledge of how they operate, I have no faith that they would let it prosper.

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
I think a lot of people would!
!
Well we would be considered a very small bank in the beginning
so I don't think it would be a lot of opposition and we could raise our own money for start up funds.
