CA sales tax proposal will raise taxes in LA to 9.75% and that is not all

Proposed state budget adds another layer of tax
When are we people in CA going to demand people's jobs in Sac town?
Why do we all have to get robbed to pay for their negligence, excessive spending, miscalculations of real estate tax, expensive projects and programs that usually don't work, and not saving for a rainy day by returning the little DMV checks we got back when Arnold took office.. We are having to pay more and have a worse quality of life in this city and state.

Here is how you may get taxed according to the Governator! Your paycheck is not safe!!!!!!!!!

The proposal calls for an increase in the state sales tax of 1percent for 39 months; a surcharge of 2.5 percent to 5 percent on the state personal income tax; a 12-cents-per-gallon increase in the gasoline tax; and a near-doubling of the vehicle license fee to 1.15 percent.

This is a regressive tax that will encourage people to spend less, drive less, and essentially get people laid off. The more you get taxed the less likely people will buy stuff and then that will hurts sales and force more people out of work. Everyone should be bitching at the top of their lungs.

Didn't LA county state that

Didn't LA county state that they will not send taxes collected there to the State if the State becomes unwilling or unable to send money back to them? I wonder if these new LA taxes are in retaliation to all of that. Would be interesting to see if the first major tax revolt (as forecast by Gerald Celente) is between a local government and a state government.

...

The new taxes are proposed for all of California.

The 9.75% is what LA would be up to. These taxes are not a retaliation and are statewide. The income tax could mean another $5,000 per family if you make a 100k or more, the gas tax at .12 cents a gallon could be crazy for Cali motorists, and then adding more to the DMV. It is an all out assault on our pocket books that will cause less spending and more layoffs. You can blame Arnold's poor leadership to start with.

CA is run down and the state miscalculated revenue from property taxes, spent on crazy long term projects, has a high number of illegal immigrants in schools, prisons, and using services. No matter what your opinion is on immigration, there is no denying that it is part of the expense that has lead to such a huge deficit.
