Peter Schiff Money Bomb - Saturday 2/21
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Mon, 02/16/2009 - 23:07
On February 21st, Peter Schiff will be looking to schiff2010's first "money bomb" to get a tangible idea of the grassroots support mounting for an historic run for senate. In the last couple weeks, he has mentioned our campaign with optimism and openness. With thousands of visitors to the website each day, over 1,500 Facebook supporters, and almost 600 supporters pledging to donate on February 21st thus far, let's show Chris Dodd and the political machine that we are ready to take them on!

I took a look at the schiff 2010 web site. It says it is run by a group of constitutionaly minded individuals. Most if not all of them were Ron Paul supporters and some have worked on his campaign for liberty. They say the money will go to like minded candidates if Schiff doesn't run.
You guys would vote for a dog if he says the dollar's collapsing
Did you see the video of Peter Schiff (who I really do have a lot of respect for----AS A FINANCIAL ADVISOR) explaining to Saudis how to totally collapse America? You live there!!!! What if you saw Obama saying that same thing to the same audience. Some of you guys amaze me--why do you need a hero so damn bad???
Most of you however, are keenly aware of the situation and probably as saddened as I.

Well, there are two good reasons to support Schiff.
1- He's a colleague of Ron Paul's.
2- He's someone who understands how the economy works and believes in sound money.
If Schiff were elected to the Senate, he would be unique in both categories.
I do share your lack of "excitement" over a financial guru in politics, but much of what we are suffering from is institutional stupidity and irresponsibility in Washington, and Schiff would be helpful on that level.

You guys are Welfarists
You say you love Ron Paul and free-market ideas but you keep turning toward elected officials to solve it -- THAT IS CALLED ABDICATION.
How did they gain their power -- BY ABDICATION!!!
You guys are trying to cure a problem of abdication by more abdication.
The plan is simple -- if you can't see it it's because you are not paying attention.
#1 Vote-out-the-Incumbent (destroys lobbying by eliminating the senior politician -- the lobbyist would have to lobby 535 people; rather than 40 or so -- if that isn't obvious just ask and I'll break it down -- hint* the "senior politician" controls the "junior politicians" vote (by controlling the war chest by controlling special-committee seats and by ankle nipping the abdicating masses )
#2 Vote-out-the-Corporatist (Form Consumer Unions -- Buy one firms products and don't buy the competitors -- Get them to lobby for us. What do we want: End the Fed (doesn't hurt the corporation) and Zero Regulatory Power in Free-Society) -- Simple ;)
#3 Form Passive Income and Entrepreneurial Clubs -- Start working 80% away from your parent company.
-----a) This breaks the health insurance back. The health lobby forces employers to corrale employees into large insurance buying blocks -- however, corporations do not have to pay that if their employees are part time (thus working 80% from Entrepreneurialism, Social Leveraged Marketing, and Passive Income Streams). Bring health care costs down around automotive insurance costs!!!
That's it -- The End
Start Living the Self-Reliant Model and Get off the Abdication Model

Schiff has said he is not
Schiff has said he is not running. He has said he does not know who put up that web site.
Do I get my money back if he does not run?
We must ask, what is the Down Side Risk?
Which means, should Peter not run, do I get my donation back?
I see no reason why not, do you?
Which begs the question.
If Peter does not run, who gets the money? What happens to the money and what accounting firm is making the bookkeeping public to all concerned?
Transparency is key here to making a successful Money Bomb for Peter.
With Ron Paul, we all knew he was running an ongoing campaign. The money was handled for the purpose of the campaign.
I still have complaints about how the money was spent, how the campaigned failed miserably to attack the mainstream message that Ron Paul was a Fringe Candidate, not one to be taken seriously.
Perhaps like you all at DP, I still have problems with how the Ron Paul campaign spent money in new Hampshire -- mass mailing long winded color brochures-- ------ despite test after test SAYS that the public will not consider giving you a vote UNLESS you are a "viable candidate" which means, HAS a real possibility to win, WHICH Means to become Legitimate you MUST be on TV. SPEND DOLLARS ON TV make Dam Sure you are treated as Legit! The campaign did not hire Charles Goyette and others to hit the Fox news network and others to DRILL THAT MESSAGE HOME -- Ron Paul is indeed a REAL VIABLE CANDIDATE.... Instead the Campaign presented the single star, Ron Paul to face his Media Critics who openly to his face said you are not a "Real" candidate nor do you have "Real chance" at winning so "why should anyone consider you?" ---- That QUESTION alone haunted and dogged our dear Congressman and the CAMPAIGN did NOTHING about it. They should have SPENT MONEY on our cheerleaders. We here at DP looked to Pat Buchanan to say something in Paul's favor, we looked to Mr Bow Tie blue-blood punk to say something (oh he did, gee, the Chicken Ranch owner likes Ron Paul -- with friends like these). Well you get what you pay for, and the Ron Paul Campaign did NOT pay for their own Media personalities to POUND that Message home to the Voter ON TELEVISION that indeed Ron Paul is the real deal and NOT a "wasted vote".
When the Ron Paul campaign did turn to TV in the very last week or so, they fell flat. We in the Revolution, E-liberty ("New Hope"-video, Treg's Ron Paul video winner) and others should have been the GO TO guys for the Ron Paul campaign. We were stunned, betrayed. Here was this years only real and true grassroots movement and the campaign FAILED to tap into it...infact did their level best to STAY AWAY from it. [Now with the Campaign for Liberty they are trying to make amends with all the left over money --- that is after South Carolina & after Super Tuesday amends for not running TV ads everywhere -- the reason for the money bombs in the first place!) Talk about a RELUCTANT presidential campaign!
Meanwhile, John McCain was spending his last dime on New Hampshire TV while Ron Paul mass mailed colorful brochures in New Hampshire). McCain made dam sure that he was on TV in New Hampshire and KISSED BUTT to the nation's press so that they followed HIM around, ---while Ron Paul, me and others walked door to door --- with out the Main Stream Press. New Hampshire voters watched their TVs, we rang door bells, who do you think got more "Face time" with the New Hampshire voter? McCain or Ron Paul? Answer, John McCain -- CHECK MATE and game near over.
That was a major blunder from the Ron Paul campaign. Exit polls showed that the anti-Iraq war republican voter chose to "make his vote count" with John McCain BECAUSE that voter believed he was a "Viable Candidate". SO, among the Viable candidates, John McCain got the New Hampshire Anti-War vote, not Ron Paul.
If Peter Schiff is serious about becoming a US Senator, he needs to make overtures to us, not the other way around.
If those that want to draft Peter Schiff into service, they need to make MONEY BACK GUARANTEES to us inside the R3VOLution. Money is too precious to be pissed away on a false start and then be squirreled away and put to use for some other means that I do not care about.
I mean no harm or insult. That is just my opinion.
In Peace & Liberty,
Treg
New Hope video is awesome.
Went to watch that video for, what I think, is my second time, and, I must say, it is a powerful video. Really inspiring. Then again, that might be the beer speaking. I jokes.
New Hampshire and the Free Staters - some have said they failed us.
Really can't blame the Free Staters, I think. Ron Paul is the chief of his own campaign, so his role has to be considered. For me, the real test was between the philosophy of Ron Paul's against the MSM's antipathy to it. With the Fairness Doctrine peaking its head through the door, the idea that Ron Paul's ideas will be considered legitimate in the MSM, seems, now, even more diminished.
Doug Wead talks about 2012 as being the year of Ron Paul. Well, if that is going to happen, the whole nation is going to have to be Free Staters x 9000. If the MSM doesn't change its tune, and that is unlikely, then we will have to go around the MSM. The question is, can that happen by 2012, or we will be a nation of Free Staters?

We need to build political strength and political will.
Schiff was right on the economy
Almost everybody else in Congres and on Wall Street was wrong so, I may give Peter Schiff a small contribution. I sure wouldn't give it to Barney Frank or Ted Kenedy.
Schiff is only exploring the possibility of running and because he's rich some commentors on the daily paul dislike him asking for contributions. I think if a large numbers of people contribute to him it would send a message to the big spenders in Washington. I would supprt a guy who like Ron Paul has been right about the inflationary policies of our government for a very, very, long time.
HELL NO!
I'll never donate to a "possible" candidate. Schiff has enough of his own money to run and doesn't need ours.
If he wants to run for Senate, which it doesn't look like he does, let him use his own money.
I'm sick of beggars!
donations for a potential candidate?
I'll be glad to donate IF he runs but not before, where is this money going? it's like the federal reserve.
how about a pledge instead, I'll put $100 to him if he runs.

I agree
If he offcially puts his hat in the ring I'll donate.
Not before.

SCAM!!
Peter Schiff is not running for senate please listen to his prior broadcasts. Multiple times he has mention that he is not running.
http://www.europac.net/radioshow_archives.asp
Let me get this
Let me get this straight...former Ron Paul supporters are investing their own money and time into a campaign so they can trick some people into "donating" to a registered political action committee. then, since the committee is federally regulated and every expenditure must be reported, they will devise a laundering scheme to trick the FEC and their supporters and run away with all the money.
Additionally, the fact that Peter Schiff has encouraged the movement and has publicly stated multiple times that he is leaving the option open should significant support present itself, should give us reason to call this a scam and ensure that Peter never has a real decision to make on this matter.
Cynism, in the pursuit of liberty, is our enemies best friend.
