Rep. Henry Waxman Wants to Apply Censorship Doctrine to the Internet

If Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) is not trying to investigate conservatives, he is trying to squelch their voices. Waxman has jumped into the so-called Fairness Doctrine discussion as of late. Waxman, however, has added another dimension to the issue…the internet (h/t The Prowler).
Media Research Center's Jeff Poor spoke with FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell last year about the internet and the Fairness Doctrine. McDowell talked about a real possibility of internet content being regulated in the near future.

"Peace", in terms of the classical Marxist definition, exists
when all opposition, to the operation of the socialist state, has been eliminated. The regulation will mostly likely come in the form of an effort to eliminate something like pornography or spam or some other such activity generally held in contempt by the body politic. That establishes the needed precedent. After that, it's but a matter of time and application of the right words until the regulated content will contain such things as are written on this forum, including this post. Perhaps we will be allowed to discuss gardening techniques, but nothing more controversial than that. This subject has been discussed for some years now and I just don't see the advocates of regulation going away.
