Ultimate Eugenics

I would imagine the ultimate eugenics scenario (governmentally speaking) would be to create a situation in the world/country, fan that spark to the point flame - and then take one step back.

Create a food shortage as people, crammed into crowded cities, lose their jobs by the thousands.

Create a monetary crisis as people are just hanging on by a thread.

Spark a panic with a NBC scare/attack inside the US that causes widespread panic as supplies disappear.

Desperate people do desperate things to stay alive. Stealing is usually the first foray into lawlessness. Once it is realized that you can steal to survive, other options become easier to consider.

This isn't the 30's. People are no longer polite. Society is no longer 'civilized'. Anyone selling apples on the corner will be killed or robbed of his money AND apples. There is a large segment of 'society' that already feeds on the civilian populace. Image what would happen if the 'thin blue line' that separates them from the masses were to take one step back.

Just ruminating on this down day...thinking of where we're headed and how fast we'll get there. Thinking of any 'magic bullet' that could turn this around... haven't found one yet.

Not big on speculating or predicting when or how but it would sure be nice to know. I spend a lot of time looking at defensibility now. Trying to think of how to stay safe in an unsafe world.

What better way to scale back on 'useless eaters' than to stop feeding them? The weak ones will just starve. The violent ones will either kill or die in their quest for survival. The haves and don't-have-much's will take on the have-nots and the have-some-but-want-yours-too's.

And all those who instigated it will have to do is sit back and stay fat. Keep behind their high walls lined with private security and sip brandy.

Yup, rough times are coming. Make sure rough times don't end your life. Prepare.

This is

the funniest thing I read all day.

Funny, but could be true! I feed goldfinches!

Not much meat on them. I hope I don't have to resort to Goldfinch soup!

Pay it forward

Funny and smart thinking, and it sort of echoes the "pay it forward" principle. It's time to make ourselves independently useful in our local communities, to start freely sharing our individual gifts, skills and resources with our local community members so each of us is considered important, even indispensible by our immediate neighbors. Then they'll naturally look out for us. Modern Western Culture has distanced us from our sense of community. This is where the revolution has to start. Barter is o.k. too, but there's a better way. We really don't need to be accounting worth for worth - that happens naturally on the inside. There are selfish, greedy people out there, but their nature tends to be see-through sooner or later when we are honest with ourselves. Of course, maintain healthy boundaries, remembering the lines from Frost "Good fences make good neighbors". This will be easier to do in some places than others, and everyone's different, but I firmly believe that the surest way to experience the good nature of others is to set the precedent. (And here the comparison breaks down, as eating your neighbors would inevitably be a self-limiting lifestyle.)

For What It's Worth
