When is it time for a national strike?

When do we go on strike and stop paying taxes?
Do we have an exact date in mind?
I was thinking 2010 would be a good start.
Maybe we should have a test run on black friday week '09? Don't work, don't spend, don't pay taxes.
*******
so far we have 4/15 and 11/23 suggested. what about november 5th?

You don't need to join a club to not pay taxes
It's your money, do your thing.

"The body is but a vessel for the soul,
A puppet which bends to the soul's tyranny.
And lo, the body is not eternal,
For it must feed on the flesh of others,
Lest it return to the dust whence it came.
Therefore the soul deceives and despises."
The "Strike" should have began on Nov 5, 2008
Remember, remember the 5th of NOVEMBER... ... ...

In Chile, there's supposed
In Chile, there's supposed to be a national strike on 3/15. I need to read more to find out what's up.
How bout a global Strike... Stop the wheels!!

The time was a while ago...but people kept hitting snooze...
People WILL protest/strike. But when they strike will they ask "where's MY bailout" or will they ask "where's my FREEDOM"?

I just don't have as many people who believe it -g.carlin
A man who has hate in his heart is not a free man
i doubt many people from the
i doubt many people from the "where's my bailout" crowd will join a strike started by the "where's my freedom crowd".
on the other hand, if the "where's my freedom" crowd strikes, the "where's my bailout" crowd may just decide to jump on the bandwagon and make it that much bigger.
the powers that be wouldn't be able to tell the difference. all they'd know is a bunch of people want more freedom and a bunch of people just went on strike.
Pretty soon there will be
lots of people going on strike.
They won't have a job so they
won't be shopping or paying
income or sales taxes.
then we need to do something
then we need to do something before it gets that bad.
I really, really, really
I really, really, really like this idea. We need to spread the word....and make sure people don't forget come 4/15.
I suggest we can make flyers and post them/hand them out?
Think for yourself, question authority
we could make a youtube
we could make a youtube video and post it all over.
i'm going to work on one!
excellent. I'm thinking
excellent. I'm thinking about making a flyer, then posting it all over the place. (I go to a large university so there is plenty of opportunity for it to get noticed.) I need something flashy, and simply stated. Ideas are welcome.
Think for yourself, question authority
Now that the cats outta the
bag, how long do you think it will take before they come for all of our guns? Do you really think the ones with power are going to relenquish it so we can have a piece of the pie? I don't think so.
No pie
There isn't going to BE any pie. The last bits of pie are being divided up in DC right now and distributed in bailout form. When the smoke clears, the pie will be ALL gone. All the dollars, all the pensions, all the savings, all the IRAs and 401ks, all the stocks and bonds, all the careers, all the factories. Gone, daddy, gone. There ain't gonna be no more pie. Nobody bothers to rob people who don't have anything. And that is going to be us. Hope you like thin gruel.
i can't see why cops
i can't see why cops couldn't go on strike too. besides, who's going to go house to house confiscating guns when he's being paid with worthless money?
I imagine they will find
a way to pay the enforcers of the state. If that doesn't work they have other plans... remember all the crap bushi signed into law? Allowing foreign troops to patrol our streets?
police wouldn't have the
police wouldn't have the ability to do anything about it. people simply stay home, they don't go to work, they don't go shopping. yeah, they could do something about not paying taxes, but a first strike would be about not working and not shopping.
so what are they going to do? send the cops to every house and force people to go to work (or the grocery store) at gunpoint?
don't forget; there are plenty of law enforcement guys out there who are also extremely fed up with the system. they might even strike too!
Please help make this happen. The time is NOW.
We must stop funding the terrorists.
We have time to spread this idea.
It is peaceful.
It is Patriotic - not only would our founding fathers do it, they DID - or the nearest equivalent that can be drawn.
It is the only voice "We The People" really have - we all know that "money talks" in this society.
Ron Paul will be demonized if he touts this, but you know in his heart that he would support it, even if he cannot openly do so. Can you follow Ron Paul's lead without having to have him personally lead the way? The man is trying to stay alive so he can keep up the political fight. How many times must he suggest "civil disobedience" before his followers come to understand he CANNOT lead that arm of the fight? It is time to march forward as liberty lovers, as individuals, and do the right thing. That requires no leader. Liberate yourself - start here:

so what say you? week long
so what say you? week long strike starting 09/11/23? (interesting how that date comes out when you type it in international format)
obviously everybody wouldn't go for it, but if we could get a million or two working people to commit to this, it could make serious inroads. that's what, 2%?
i know that doesn't sound like much, but think of this: if the dow drops 2%, that's 150 points!
of course, if a small black friday strike succeeds and makes the news, a second national strike would be even bigger!
Bump for other comments.
Hmmmm.
