A Win for Debra Would Be a Win for Dr. Paul and Would Be a Win For Us All
As a computer novice, I still get confused by all this Internet stuff. I tried to post this earlier and put it under blogs. Then someone said do it under articles, but I don't see articles. I hope this comes out OK!
I must admit I have not been as active on Daily Paul as when we were in the midst of the Ron Paul Revolution. Then I believed with all my heart that it was possible for Dr. Paul to be the next President of the United States. Later I supported those that felt led to join Campaign for Liberty, but I needed something more tangible. I needed something with a goal and an objective. Dr, Paul had been spreading the Freedom message for a long time.
I met and have supported Dr. Paul since May of 1984 and he has faithfully and with integrity spread the message of Freedom, Liberty and Sound Monetary Policy and has backed up his every vote based on the Constitution. During the R3VOLUTION, those seeds of Freedom he had faithfully planted all those years took root and grew into strong sturdy plants. Sometimes, however, it is necessary for young plants to be pruned or transplanted before they are ready to blossom into full bloom or bring forth bountiful fruit.
For me, when Dr. Paul withdrew from the race, it was like a severe pruning. I did a lot of soul searching and finally came to the conclusion that Dr. Paul was probably right to withdraw. With him as our leader, "we the people" never would become the strong force that will be necessary to take back our country. We would continue to just be Ron Paul "followers" as we were often called by our distracters.
I realized, as Dr. Paul has always taught us, we had to find strength to do what was necessary within ourselves and within our own ranks. It seemed clear, we do not have the time to wait until the next Presidential election. We need to show we are a force to be reckoned with in the very next battle. That next battle will clearly be the Governor's race in 2010.
It seemed equally clear, we needed to choose our own representative for that office. We could not allow ourselves to be faced with the usual choices that the parties anoint. This process has been a challenge. It has not been without its ups and downs. However, finally with professional advice from those who have successfully run major campaigns and with much encouragement from the freedom loving citizens to let her know that all we expect, is a candidate committed to upholding their oath of office, to protect and defend our Constitution from enemies without or within. Getting that candidate elected will be our job.
Debra Medina, who has proven her integrity and her character in the heat of battle with her own political party at the Republican State Convention last year, caught our vision of what it could mean for Texas to have a chief executive officer (the Governor) who was truly committed to our Constitution.
Debra has been a long time supporter of Dr. Paul, but more than that she has been the wise student, who looked to Dr, Paul as her mentor and teacher. What an accolade to Dr, Paul, to see one of his own, pick up the banner of liberty and freedom and carry it forward to VICTORY!
Debra filed for an undisclosed office and has appointed a treasurer. In doing this, she to put in place a mechanism, whereby we can take that next step. Now the pruning is over, it is time for the Liberty Movement to burst forth in full bloom in Texas. What better way to show this than to have our candidate win the governor's race in 2010 and take the oath of office with the full intent of living up to that oath of office, in January 2011
If we truly want to see the return of Constitution government to Texas and have a hope of Liberty and Freedom for our children and grandchildren, it is up to us. We must examine ourselves. Just how important are these values to us? How hard will we work? How much will we sacrifice? We cannot hold back. While there is a chance to win this battle through the ballot box, we must exercise every avenue we have available to us. The alternative is unthinkable. Please feel the urgency and pass this along to everyone you know.
Debra Medina for Texas Governor 2010!
