Concentrate on getting RP nominated!
Concentrate on getting RP nominated!
so how would dennis get rid
so how would dennis get rid of the IRS when he is rasing taxes to 99% since everyone who spends money is evil,
also remember he bankrupted Cleavland
he is a MAJOR socialist just becuase they both want to get out of iraq does not mean he has any other issues that he agrees with pual on.
paul would lose my vote by taking him on as a running mate
Should show DK due respect
Kucinich is the Democrat version of Ron Paul. He has integrity, consistency, and respect for the Constitution and his oath of office. He is honest and direct. He opposes all globalist orgs, the federal police state, and every resolution to finance, intimidate and attack foreign nations. I like him a lot, and hope Ron Paul supporters understand and respect him for his steadfastness. The differences are obvious, and it would be difficult to imagine RP selecting him as a running mate... RP has a loooooonng way to go before that thought is meaningful anyway.
Uh no..
He is NOT the 'Ron Paul' of the Democrats!
respect for the
respect for the constitution?
like a federal ban on smoking yeah thats very constitutional
Need to be flexible if this is going to work
A lot of candidates support the smoking ban, but I agree it is an infringement on our liberties. This isn't an issue that will sink the country, however, and if RP is to have a chance, he will need the support of a lot of pissed off Dems and progressives who are willing to compromise their views to break the neocon/neolib stranglehold.
Most people don't fall into the fabricated molds the media has created anyway. I agree with RP on most issues. I'm pro-gun and I'm opposed to amnesty for illegals and automatic citizenship for alien newborns. However:
- I'm essentially pro-choice, but would respect decisions made at state and local levels.
- do not want to scrap the SEC or FDA (but the Orphan Drug Law should get flushed immediately).
- want to use federal tax money to build an infrastructure of clean energy resources (the energy conglomerates will never commit to free energy)
- don't agree with the return to the gold/silver standard. It ties the value of the dollar to the supply/demand for gold/silver. There isn't nearly enough gold and silver to back the dollar to begin with, and it would drive the costs for those commodities through the roof. If the money supply is strictly controlled and interest rates are determined by the natural supply/demand for credit and dollar-based goods, it isn't necessary.
I'm compromising on these and a few other minor issues to help RP, as are many others. RP supporters need to know he's got a broad-based following and we need to exercise civility and some flexibility if this is going to work.
Glad to see im not the only one that sees this
honestly I think they would be like fire and ice in office
DK is strictly against guns and I cant stand that
Ron Paul is strictly for them which I love
as a VP tho I think he would do an excellent job and bring both parties togeather
Uh, no!
DK would bring in the radical PETA vegetarians, UFOers, Scientologists, and others considered bt many to be not-so-desirable. We have enough trouble with the overhyped stormfront non-story. We don't need any more of that.
Besdes, as others have pointed out, he's a big-government guy, not a small government guy. Only thing in common is anti-war.
UFO's
I thought it was strange he saw UFO'S until I heard it was in Washington state. I live in Washington and a lot of people see strange things in the sky. I see strange things in the sky, but seeing something you can't identify is different from seeing aliens.
The only aliens I see are the illegals, and they aren't in the sky. They are in the grocery line using their food stamp cards.
Come on already.
Look, I know a lot of people here like Kucinich; however, this doesn't change the fact that he is a big government democrat. Remember as government expands, liberty contracts. Big government leads to big wars. The government we are suffering from today wasn't built in a day. It took them years to amass their power. Don't link Kucinich and Paul together because they are anti-war. Ron Paul and his endorsement of true small government is the only true way to be truly anti-war.

VOTE!

Everyone go there and vote for Ron Paul!
Nothing has Changed
I went there yesterday and nothing has changed to today. So Sparklit.com is just a place you can make your own poll and pass around? That's good to know. Anyway, I might be wrong but I really, honestly, don't think anything has changed since yesterday.
rp is down in this poll....go vote!
RP At 7%; obama 12%; hilary 14%.....i just voted over there and this is what i saw

His wife is a SMOKIN HOTTIE!

Is where the "SMOKIN HOTTIE" action starts..LOL That's great!
Paul/Kucinich
yes there is a very good chance of this happening
according to an interview Paul gave on PBS 5 weeks ago he is ALSO considering Kucinich an old friend of his as running mate
listen to the interview...Paul even says that disagreements on spending/social programs can be ironed out between them because of all the savings from the military industrial complex spending...

Thanks for enlightenment on Lieberman, I did not know this when I suggested him. Lew Rockwell or the Governor of SC sound like much better choices. I DID have a disclaimer on Lieberman. The information that was presented about Lieberman is gratefully apreciated.

A Kucinich endorsement is a
A Kucinich endorsement is a good thing. A Paul / Kucinich ticket, not so good. Dr. Paul already addressed this by saying he appreciates DK's votes on the war and foreign policy, but they are polar opposites on econimic issues.
5% of people make things happen
10% of people watch things happen
85% say "What happened?"
I mean if it was Paul vs.
I mean if it was Paul vs. Hilary
a Paul/kucinich ticket would probably convince republicans to vote for Hilary
I mean, the Paul/kucinich ticket is less neo-con than Hilary anyway

Perish the thought
Kucinich is a dyed in the wool socialist.
You can learn something here
Although the connection seems preposterous to many, there is a reason that this question about Kucinich pops up every now and then.
Some people are drawn to Ron Paul for two reasons:
1) He opposed the invasion/occupation of Iraq
2) He tells the truth; he does not speak for focus groups
Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich have these two things in
common, so naturally we have some supporters who like
them both. For these supporters, the whole "limit the size
and scope of federal government" thing is a new concept.
I reject that, honestly
If that was really the case, Kucinich would be seeing huge support, like Paul is.....not having his wife talk about a vp run.
If Dennis was so great, then Democrats would not have to switch parties...he's right there.
Could it be that there really is a big proportion of the population that thinks of the government as Reagan did-"the nine most frightening words in the english language are-I'm from the government, and I'm here to help"
Or did Reagan draw a huge confused socialist backing....that how he won?

Exactly
I wish I had said this! Agree 100%. My long post was not nearly as clear. Anytime a thread is repeated,it means someone wants more info,at least some of the time.
Can we get a different format on this forum? Categories, perhaps? Issues? General? Announcements?
Categories
There are other sites that have categories:
Digital Diesel is new and well organized
http://digitaldiesel.net/index.php?action=forum
Ron Paul Forums has a lot of forums, some good some not so good:
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/
Lew Rockwell is a much
Lew Rockwell is a much better choice!
I agree
I'm exhausted at the repeating threads in general.
I wish this forum would have categories for posting-one on the issues [and not just to debate them, but so we can post recommendations for books, articles, websites,on the topic,so those on the forum can research info BEFORE the debates start.]
Half the time,I am answering elementary questions about why we just don't go into darfur. And then some other guy is saying 'Just take care of our own. screw 'em.' which is his choice-but besides the point. These threads get so black and white and redundant.
But,a repeat of topics shows that more than one person is interested in this idea [or has posted it again!!!???],and it's hard to scan 10 pages of threads to guess at the topic title to see if it might be what you are also talking about.
I also do not think this idea of VP is off topic.
I just think we need a different forum format-so general issues like these can be discussed.
I'm not saying we cannot ask basic questions, which we usually do not think are basic ourselves, anyway. I know there are earnest supporters or would-be supporters in here, who only see the surface issues, and want to understand more about why they might support RP,or why they might support him on more than one issue.
And,these types of threads end up helping people in their quest to talk w/others about RP and what he stands for.
Even after reading every article RP has ever written,it can still be a huge challenge to know how to talk to someone else who opposes what he says,b/c of their own paradigm. Where do you even begin sometimes?
So,I guess my long point is,redundant threads-wish the forum could be organized in a more specific manner.
TERRIBLE IDEA
Kucinich is a socialist guys!
Geez...C'mon!
