I could fix the economy
With one of the Stim packages I could turn the economy around in 6 months to a year at most.
700-800 billion and Is enough to rebuild the electric grid.
The undertaking would put millions to work and nearly end our dependance on fossil fuel.
Bills could be lowered to 10% of what they are now if not less enough to simple pay for facility upkeep and worker pay.
This absolutely HUGE / MASSIVE sum of money would pour back into the market and create more jobs.
The turn around would happy nearly as fast as the infistructure was put in place. Which could be done very fast with such insane funding.
The benifits would be far more that this though, as the cost of goods / produce across the spectrum would drop as the cost of manufacture would go down greatly with the near loss of one of the largest bills and the spill over of rams materials going down in price due to thier manufacturing going down as well as the shipping cost going down, as an exodus of electric vehicals would hit the streets shortly after the cost of power dropping to nearly nothing.
It took me 5 min to fix the enconomy with one stroke that would domino into all markets. Yet they can not?

The Infrastratuce for said project could be structured in a a way to be owned by the people with all profits going to fund other systems that benifit the people. Simple because something is a massive undertaking does not mean it must be owned by a small group.

I think you are a few coins short.
You look only at the energy you would get from wind and solar. You don't look at the energy you spend to build and maintain the infrastructure. And in one of your posts you even openly admit that you ignore the cost of the solar panels and wind farms.
Solar is marginal at best. You use almost as much energy to produce and maintain the panels as you get. Wind is a little better, but not much, so your idea of near free energy is ludicrous. T. Boone Pickens wanted to build wind farms, but he wanted a government subside. The fact that he needed a subsidy is evidence that he knew it did not make economic sense, and was a losing proposition without the subsidy.
If you are so sure that you have a wonderful idea, show us the numbers. And if your numbers are so good, then go out an make a fortune for yourself by raising the capital and putting it to work, if you can.

Capital production eventually becomes impossible under such a system, it crumbles under the weight of the drain of the State which ultimately must consume more and more of that productivity without being productive. Nothing this government can do will stop this decay, no amount of fiat money will stop it since each and every dollar of deficit spending gradually brings less and less of a return on investment. At one time every dollar infused in the economy by the government returned 10s of dollars in GDP growth, now it only brings about 50 cents per dollar infused. It is ridiculous to assume that the Trillions of Fiat Dollars the government is injecting into the economy will have the desired effect, the primary purpose appears to be political, not actually economic in nature.

instead of borrowing our money from the fed at interest, they should borrow our money from us at interest. Use the money to fund government. In many countries the banking sector is larger than the government. Let the people keep all of what they earn. If you still feel we need to spend 800 Billion to solve the "housing crisis" then start a national bank and deposit the money in there. At fractional reserve we have 8 Trillion, or more if we use the 0-3% reserves that are being talked about now. Add to that what we own through Fannie and Freddie we can refinance every home in America at say Zero percent. Lets see, what would we have then...... Oh a sh-tload of money in almost every Americans hand, no taxes and a small mortgage. As the loans are paid back we can retire the money to keep inflation down 'cause we're gonna be getting all that interest from the banks. What do ya think?

Yes, I have a stimulus idea.
First, I would repeal the 62% spending portion of the stimulus plan. The other 38% would be to cut the capital gains tax rate.
Second, I would cut all the unconstitutional programs in the Federal budget
Third, I would have that money to the people who actually pay taxes.
Fourth, the total stimulus would be over 2 trillion dollars in the hands of people who take risk by starting businesses.
It all comes down to investing, balancing the budget, trimming spending, cutting taxes, reducing regulation that is burdensome not ones like the uptick rule.
Within one year the us economy will be out of recession and into a bull market.

Besides, 'the economy' is in the process of fixing itself. It suffered from excessive leverage and asset values, which are now coming down/getting fixed. The less anyone mucks around, the better the end result of the 'fixing' will be.

free markets. This is a collectivist solution you suggest; private companies own the power grid, so it is simply theft to take money from individuals through the force of government and give it to private companies.

A small town near where I live had quite an overzealous policeman there.
The people there took things into their own hands after they had had enough. At both ends of the main road that ran thru the town, the people posted signs in their yards...lighted signs that said "Speed Trap". :)
