LAKE JACKSON — Lilian Klaiber didn’t cry when Congressman Ron Paul walked into her kitchen with her late husband’s military medals, but she wanted to.
“Oh, my Lord, have mercy,” the 82-year-old Lake Jackson resident said when Paul entered, smiling.

So... Is Dr. Paul a Mason??? I saw that Mason magazine bit in the article. Just wondering because my grandfather is a devout Southern Babtist Deacon of our church and a Mason for many many years. In fact he helped build the sanctuary about 5O years ago. I have never figured out why he is so dead set on being a Democrat though? I tend to choke it up to just being decieved by the two party sham. He is a wonderfull person and also one reason why i came to like Dr. Paul so much. They remind me of each other in many ways...
oh yea, this reminds me... that Alex Jones guy is a creep when it comes to Free Masons. My grandfather would NEVER be a part of anything like that guy claims the masons are. People, be carefull what you believe on that site. The poor guy tries, but hes such a joke sometimes. GEESH!!!

Better if he had seen his medals before death
It pisses me off. LOOK at all the medals this man had coming to him!!! SILVER STAR!!!! He never got his silver star!!!!!!?
How about paying his family back taxes for all those years he didn't have his medals? NOW THAT would really be something!!!! How about giving this man compensation for his children, they can't use those medals, but he COULD have. Wouldn't that have been pretty on a resume?
My Dad spends allot of his spare time helping vets get their medals. So this is no isolated incident, and while it was nice of RP to make a production out of it, the truth is, presenting the deceased medals is a insult to the deceased hero.
Lil gets to look at the medals now and think, He never saw them, every time she looks at those medals. What's the lesson? RP is a nice man. I know that. I wish this was a heartwarming story for me, but it is a shameful story about our military. We're not talking purple hearts collected to go home... Well... Yes, it was nice of Dr. Paul and the Klaibers are deserving people... they deserve more. Breaks my heart this man never saw his medals...

I get your point and technically you're right.
But I give a little play for military medals.
Not presidential medals for all the other jokes they give.
But military medals may be justified because even tho we pay the military members to serve---sometimes they have to give the ultimate sacrifice.
I only wish all the wars were justified and LEGAL.
But I don't have much of a problem with what Dr. Paul did here.
