What Would Ron Paul say......

So I have been wanting to do this for a while now. I am always educating myself when it comes to politics, and I think we can all help each other in this area. Periodically I think of a law, amendment, a political topic, etc., and I say to myself, " What would the Ron Paul frame of mind be on this topic." So I think in light of my curiosity my fellow Daily Paulers can have a healthy discussion on this. Now I am not talking about your personal beliefs or religious beliefs, and in fact please don't post with either those. I am looking for a healthy discussion that contains pure fact and constitutional beliefs. My first question which I just thought up at random was this.........

Most if not all states have some sort of laws that would make it a crime to commit suicide, (if unsuccessful of course). Is having these laws taking away a freedom or a right to take our own lives?

State laws.

I'm pretty sure Ron Paul would say suicide is not covered in the U.S. Constitution, therefore it would be up to each state to decide if it was legal.

As an example, some states are allowed to use the death penalty for certain crimes committed, while other states are not allowed to execute prisoners.

States have the right to make their own laws as long as it doesn't nullify Constitutional law.

My opinions only.

LOL, I don't know what Ron Paul would say

but in my book it's your right, and as long as you succeed, there is precisely shit they can do about it, other than clean up the mess you left them.
