As of Feb. 10, it's illegal to sell kids' motorcycles in the U.S.

I can't hardly believe it, but it's true. My husband called around to local dealers and found out that indeed they were unable to sell anything 100cc and smaller. Apparently, part of the new legislation regarding lead content in kids' items.
One salesman said we could pay cash for one of the kids motorcycles he had bought just prior to the ban. :) Smart guy!

Is this for real???
Are the kids going to lick the paint on the motorcycles or something?
I'm just a few days from buying a used 80 for my 10 yr. old - I had no idea...
This is ridiculous.
Unfortunately, it's for real. Nanny State has come to save us!
At least you can continue with your plans since the ban is on the sale of new motorcycles. But... you can't buy parts for a kids' motorcycle anymore -- unless it's a part that a child cannot possibly touch.
Actually, my child prefers to chew the handlebars!
