Any thoughts on Jindal's "official response" to Obama's speech to Congress?
He is also one of the Republican governors who said he would reject the stimulus money for Louisiana because it would hurt in the long run. Any thoughts on him from you all?
WASHINGTON (AP) - Republican leaders are calling President Barack Obama's handling of the economy irresponsible and wrongheaded, saying it will increase taxes and government debt.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who may challenge Obama in 2012, said Tuesday that the Obama-backed stimulus package will "grow the government, increase our taxes down the line, and saddle future generations with debt."Although he said Republicans are willing to work with Obama and congressional Democrats, his remarks continued the generally harsh GOP reactions to Obama's bid to boost the economy with billions of dollars in spending. The Republican Party chose Jindal to give its official response to the president's speech to Congress on Tuesday night.
In excerpts released early, Jindal suggested that Obama would raise taxes, although the Democratic-backed stimulus bill includes hefty tax cuts.
"The way to lead is not to raise taxes and put more money and power in hands of Washington politicians," Jindal said. The plan will "grow the government, increase our taxes down the line, and saddle future generations with debt."
"It's irresponsible," Jindal said.
Taking advantage of his moment in the national spotlight, Jindal publicized a Web link Tuesday (http://www.bobbyjindal.com/sotu/) allowing respondents to receive early excerpts of his planned response, and to donate to his political organization. Jindal also collected their e-mail and postal addresses, which could prove handy in a presidential race.
Other Republicans also criticized Obama and congressional Democrats' response to the economic crisis.
In light of the $787 billion stimulus bill and Congress's plans to vote on a large budget bill this week, struggling families and small businesses wonder if Obama's calls for fiscal responsibility is "all talk and no action," said House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio.

The line they've drawn
I honestly think they drew their own lines....the line being...how close do they get to what Ron Paul and others are saying.....and now they are starting to walk closer to that line..close enough..they hope..to fool the people...but refusing to cross it because they are scared of what might be done to them...Its a game for fools...they..and those who believe them..are the fools.
Freedom is another way to God...A corrupt government is a straight way to hell.
I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change

Jindal is a RINO and a Neocon
Freedom is not FREE!!
Being from and living in Louisiana I can tell you there is absolutely NO difference between Bush and Jindal. He has accomplished Nothing in this State but superficial BS. Ethics reform (what a joke) Has already expanded spending just like Obambam.
Unlike the 60% that voted for this neocon I opted for Lee Horn the libertarian candidate even though I am registered R.
Freedom is not FREE!!
can you say playing the race
can you say playing the race card republicans? ... lets go grab a different color foreigner and make him our representative ... they will burn in flames if they try it
they obviously still don't get the damn message .. although i am having huge success at the local lever
After the past 20 or so
After the past 20 or so years of criminal corruption in DC who in their right mind would believe anything whatsoever that comes out of DC? It seems to me the only place we can get real traction from our efforts is on the local levels which are corrupt in themselves but at least we can attend their public show meetings and maybe even chit-chat with them around town.
Already they have started.
I guess Jindal will be shoved down our faces by Foux and other news networks. Meet the next President of the United States.
If they want MY vote, they need to tell me why they are better than the other guy, not why the other guy is worse than they are.
Pass the stupid pills.
I just want to pretend like the government actually cares about individuals. Individual freedom is under attack from every side, every angle, and every moment. There's nothing, NOTHING to be optimistic about. If the politicians are right, then we get more of the same. If the politicians are wrong, then we get more of the same. I don't think the red pill is sitting well with me. Where's the blue pill? Can I change my mind or is it too late to go back to the matrix? Tra-la-la-la and a bucket of excrement.
I agree w/ BigT

...He received a master's degree in political science from New College, Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar. -- another beneficiary of a Cecil Rhodes Round Table more than likely. He may help LA but he will not go against the Anglo-American Establishment just like Clinton.
He said the right things...
He said the right things...
But i don't believe him. Lets see what his platform is in 2012 .
The slogan press on has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.

i love these comments
i didnt get a chance to watch his entire response but i'm under the strict impression that he's merely being betted for 2012 when people find out again how important it is to be a conservative,
it was pathetically fake.
He was horrible. I echo those who said it like a kindergarten teacher.
But maybe it wasn't so bad and we are just holding him to high standards?...We are, after all, used to hearing from the most honest and sincere politician in Washington.
Sara
He made Sara look like a genius.
I like Sara.
Neither need to lead the party.
Don't fall for Jindal..
I am from Louisiana and yes, he is just another puppet. The GOP gave him that speech tonight because they are getting him ready for 2012. He has already been campaigning around the country.
That guy
Is another Obama. Another puppet placed in positions of power. These idiots just line them up for the POTUS position and knock em down.
Their MO is so easy to spot now its not even funny.
I will say it
"ehhem...F*&K Bobby Jindal".
Thank you and Hail Obama!
Right on! Well said.
Ron Paul is my President.
Ron Paul is my President.
I like his response
He pointed out his mother was 4 months pregnant with him when they came to America. When his parents tried to get insurance to help pay for delivery, the insurance companies told them "he" was a pre-existing condition and that didn't qualify. :) Sounds very insurance y. So his father made a deal with the doctor to make payments and his father never missed a payment.
Politically, he appears to be a Conservative Republican. I like what he said but that will not our current situation.

Jindal is dangerous
First of all, there ain't no 1st generation Indian with a deep-fried southern accent speaking with that inflection/accent without him teaching himself (or his folks pushing this on him as a child) how to speak like that. I grew up all over the south and I don't have any accent at all. I knew a Korean kid in high school back in TN who had an obviously self-taught southern accent and he always hung around the rich-redneck kids. He was a total faker. And you know good and damn well his parents - and Jindal's - didn't sound like that... I'm just sayin'....
Also, he was extremely adamant in his support of the death penalty for child molesters thing last year. That just means to me that he's of the same authoritarian, moral right ilk that has made the Republican party completely irrelevant.
Look America - the Republicans are diverse too! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
not
I think at the very end he said, "thank you, come again"

Jindal's eligibility to be VPOTUS or POTUS
His bio on Wikipedia indicates that he was born in 1971 in Louisiana after his parents became naturalized citizens in late 1970. If correct, he is eligible. I'm sure that he'll be happy to provide vital documents as well as documentation of his parents' naturalization. Unlike Obama who refuses to disclose anything and has sealed everything.

That comes from watching TV.
That comes from watching TV. Just ask Alec Baldwin!
Heh, heh
I actually like those Hulu ads. Alec Baldwin is a funny guy, no matter what his politics are.

And he sounded so condescending. This was insulting.
He wont turn any heads!

Weeeeeeak!
And uninspiring. Yes he came across as very hollow. If he is the newface for the Republican party in 2012, we are in trouble. He is not powerful or passionate. They are even reporting that on Fox NEWS and they are supposed to be on his side. Oh by the way.....In Orlando FL March 21, is the Bailoutpalooza and the Orlando Tea Party. Dissent is growing! Tonight we had a special OCREC meeting and voted for a new chairman without the current chairman there. Our regular OCREC meeting should be real interesting and exciting, next week :)
