I Was Actually Inspired By President Obama's Congressional Address
At least he can deliver a coherent rousing speech.
At least he's not an embarrassment to the nation like the last actor.
It's a starting point.
He made some pretty big commitments... he put his ass on the line.
Let's hold him accountable to his promises AND THE RESLUTS.
Now before the flamer's come out, I need to couch what I just said against the background of the facts...
We are in Phase II of the self destruction of big, incompetent government. George Bush was Phase I.
The Republicans have been neutralized. They've blown all credibility. Their power is dwindling. And every event like tonight's is a shame-fest for them.
Phase II is where the Democrat's blow it in spades. And they will.
They are positioned to self-destruct even more spectacularly and out in plain sight than the Republicans.
Obama is popular.
He's also (potentially) capable of turning like a mad dog on those who put him in power.
Time will tell...and it will very certainly provide him the opportunity to either get real or be destroyed with his party.
Obama's delivery has brought millions of Americans to actually get interested in politics, in many cases for the first time of their lives.
He has focused the attention of America and the world.
Yes I agree, that this has enormous probability for setting-up a new "Hitler" environment.
But some here forget that we have lightening fast communication that connects the entire globe. TV and the internet are powerful tools that were not available durng Hitler's time.
My God, Look at Glenn Beck. I actually turn the guy on when I'm in the car. ONE YEAR AGO HE SINCERELY THOUGHT THE RON PAUL REVOLUTION WAS A THREAT TO AMERICA! NOW HE'S GOT RON PAUL ON WEEKLY!
My point is Obama is accelerating the conditions that cause Americans to pay attention -- both the racists who think the color of the President's skin will make any good difference and those who never watched a presidential address to Congress on a week night.
Our biggest weapon in the fight for freedom is the massive number of newly interested citizens.
It's going to take time. Step one is to get people to at least look and listen. Obama has done that. Now as they watch and listen, they'll see it's all bullshit. That is going to take time.

The little I watched was very telling to the scripting and staging of the speech. Biden and Pelosi seemed to here a key phase to prepare to stand up and applause. At the same time they would sit up a little and pay closer attention then a few moments later when the phrase was complete they would jump up and applause. Otherwise they were distracted and not paying too much attention.

I agree with him to a large degree. It isn't about Obama's "great speech," it is about the effect of Obama's popularity.
Before Obama, many Americans couldn't have cared less about politics. They didn't watch, didn't listen, and didn't concern themselves with it.
At least now, these people are beginning to pay attention to politics, taking their first step. (Unfortunately as it is right now, in support of Obama and socialism), but in time, many of those same people will become fed up with the lies they were told, when they see that "change" didn't mean "the kind of change they wanted, expected, or were promised."
The positive effect is, by that time, many of them will have automatically become accustomed to paying attention to politics as a routine due to this newly discovered interest in it. Learning and lesson will come to them later.

Anything that is inside of your digestive system will immediately run for the nearest exit. Speeches are just words, empty rhetoric- - - UNLESS
the words are sincerely meant and the promises are kept. Why do we concentrate on the words, and the masterful delivery, when it means less than nothing?
I saw a bimbo tv anchor say this morning "I liked the "Hope" in his speech"! Aaagh!! What Hope? It is all lies and empty promises and anyone should be smart enough to recognize that.
I don't trust anything I
see or hear. I think the ultimate goal is to get the people to a point where they think they have actually had a hand in changing things for the better and then the boom will be dropped (via some National or Global catastrophe) that will cease all efforts up to that point. The focus will be on survival, security, etc. which will precipitate laws further removing our civil liberties.
The hero will be hoisted up on grateful shoulders.
We are seeing the emotional ramp up in these present days. When the big one happens - the people will be emotionally spent and glad to have any solution to end the fear and terror.

In this case it's a lot like rubbernecking as you drive by a fatal car accident. You shouldn't look, but you have to look. Except in this case it's more like the accident hasn't happened yet, but you know with a high degree of certainty that a horrible accident is about to happen. You are yelling for people to get out of the path of the disaster but they don't see it and they don't react.

The constitution was ruined
The constitution was ruined over 70 years ago. Lincoln also ripped it to shreds. We have had social security and handouts for how many decades? So, we have not been a capitalist country for decades. Why is it that so many people are now worried about socialism and communism when we have had it for years and years.
RP wants us to take over local government. I have done that. The problem is that other local idiotic boroughs are corrupt, and the state bails them out. The state is corrupt and the Fed gov bails them out. So, until the bailing out stops, our message doesn't mean a thing.
Sorry to be so cynical, but until all hell breaks loose, we don't have a chance to get anyone to follow the constitution. The best we can do is to continue to get our people elected to office and prepare ourselves for the worst.

I watched the first 2 episodes of the Beverly Hillbillys. But, I have a strong hunch that it wasn't obama's speaking that inspired anyone, it was his READING.
He sure can read what other folks have written really pretty, but just like our last decider, he can't speak his own thoughts, because he doesn't know what his own thoughts are. Please don't get caught up him the hype.
