**Serve America ACT (S. 3487)

I am disturbed by part of B.O.’s speech last night concerning education and service. He mentioned making higher education affordable to all. But at what price?

”I know that the price of tuition is higher than ever, which is why if you are willing to volunteer in your neighborhood or give back to your community or serve your country, we will make sure that you can afford a higher education. And to encourage a renewed spirit of national service for this and future generations, I ask this Congress to send me the bipartisan legislation that bears the name of Sen. Orrin Hatch as well as an American who has never stopped asking what he can do for his country — Sen. Edward Kennedy. ”

Is this the ol’ carrot dangling in front of the donkey trick? We’ll give you “this” if you give us “that”. What kind of civilian/zombie force is he trying to invoke here? That is my question.

Just one more way

To make more people dependant on government handouts.

That is the whole Democratic strategy there in a nutshell!

See the markets lately? Where is the PPT? They want to destroy the markets as they represent private wealth. Destruction of private wealth will make even more people dependant on government handouts.

"The consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of the ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it."

Updated - Has anyone been following, or heard of this senate bill before?

My response

I wrote some response to Obama's speech:

My liberty-minded home base of thought:

Freedom - Peace - Prosperity

I agree with the points you bring up...but is that the whole Speech?

About education

If everyone had a college degree, the value of a college degree would be ZERO. And oh by the way, you'll be thousands of dollars in debt after you obtain it. This is one of the many illustrations as to why socialism DOES NOT WORK.

a lot of this stuff is

a lot of this stuff is disturbing.

ever since waking up, i've been reading between the lines of every speech, conference, etc.

The slogan press on has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.
