When the Depression/Revolution hits later this year
All of our military will be overseas and they are the only ones that can protect us from Blackwater which has bases all over America. Do you think this is coincidence?

This has happened before. Read history. However, Troops never had the internet. When they hear what is happening here, all hell will break loose. The elites have no idea what they are doing.

If we collapse like USSR then the military will be unemployed as well. However, it may be in everyones best interest to offer a home and food to a vet. They have had great training on self defense and may offer valuable protection.

Just asking the obvious...
So please don't turn on me for pointing this out.
There are different degrees to "will turn on the American people". One being the obvious "commission" of discharging firearms in our direction with intent to control, terrorize, harm and/or kill.
The other is "omission" where they stand aside as others to it to us.
So examining all this with some critical thinking we learn that We The People pay the military's salary, training, family benefits, medical and dental, retirement, room and board and the usual pay check. In return we are to get protection from all threats foreign and domestic. So, while there are an estimated 5-20,000,000 illegal and unwanted foreigners running amuck around our country raping and killing us our military does nothing? While our state and federal capital and governments have been overrun by foreign lobbyists who've effectively seized control of our government the military still does nothing?
When you ask about will 'our' military turn on us it is very debatable whether or not they have already "turned on us".....
I've always scratched my head and wondered
how it was that the Germans accepted Hitler's ideas re the war, and the jews, and the others that were put to death. What was it that convinced them to think like him? It's not above humanity to follow that path again. I'm not talking about jews or non jews, etc., just about humanity in general.
The death camps were mostly secret.
Hitler never actually informed the German people about the holocaust; there was an official cover story that claimed that the Jews were all just being deported, and anyone saying otherwise was quickly arrested and usually killed, too.
The Germans were culpable for not objecting to the Nuremburg laws of course, but they never actually had a national referendum and decided to murder millions of their own citizens.

When hyperinflation comes....
the SHTF. When only the wealthy and those with government protected occupations can afford food and shelter, there will be civil unrest. The military will be used against the have-nots. There will be immediate division in the military and the population. It's class warfare. The tools of disinformation will continue to confuse people about who the enemy is.

I'm not sure where people
I'm not sure where people get the wealth and government fair well during a hyper-inflationary event, but normally governments crumble and social unrest sweeps the remainder away. Governments rapidly become helpless during a hyper-inflationary event and those who depend on the government find themselves in no better shape as those who don't. Hyper-inflation occurs when confidence is completely lost in the currency, the government and the central banking system. Basically, there quickly arises a feeling that removes all the belief that the government, including its issuing authority, will remain solvent or able to repair the damage.
For a while, the wealth and politically connected are able to funnel their funds into other stores of value, that is an advantage they have over the poor and middle class, but that only last for a short while as the purchase value of their wealth vaporizes before their eyes. Due to the fact that hyper-inflation makes it impossible for the consumer to consume, the entire capital structure of the economy is destoryed. The system shuts down.
In the past, there were always other countries that were able to come to the "rescue" of a country suffering from hyper-inflation. I have a feeling that the hyper-inflationary depression this time around will be global and will leave few governments standing and no central banks with enough credibility to every issue another fiat currency.

I wouldn't say they become helpless.
If we look at the example of Zimbabwe, their government isn't helpless so much as useless. Mugabe's still in charge of the country and he's looting them at a furious pace as always.

I always agree with you...
The worse the inflation, the faster the ranks of the have-nots will grow. The government will be able to give cost of living raises when others cannot. There will be resentment or worse directed at these people. I agree it won't last long. When we reach critical mass of discomfort there be will change.

Here is my question or vision. If we look at countries who have experienced hyperinflation the military seems to stay intact. How is this done if the currency is worthless? If the IMF proposes a new currency don't you think these governments will JUMP at the chance. Isn't Iceland and others looking to the IMF to save their rears. Won't this whole fiasco just lead us down the global path.

A viable concern I suppose.
But some of my dearest friends have been and currently are law enforcement and military personnel. Many people people who post on this site tend spook themselves and others regarding police men/women, security guards, and military people.
Being mentally prepared for anything is a good exercise in common sense (with a presumably dishonorable foreign national in the white house, we can easily face positively anything in the very near future.
History has definitely shown that even the most friendly, receptive soldier can be made into the hardest, meanest military machine you ever saw.
But I personally won’t even think about it too much unless masses of soldiers actually do turn against the general population.

Boot training attempts to instill an educated idiot mentality (the robot mindset) into the brain of each recruit. When my brother was at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, he called me crying (he couldn’t stand the training). Ironically he got an honorable discharge because he injured his knee—he slipped on a freshly waxed floor while running to chow hall. He used benefits to take police science. He’s now a cop in Sioux Falls. He and his family love that town.

Look at what they did in New Orleans. One soldier interviewed said he didn't like taking guns away from citizens "It just felt wrong"--but he did it!
My husband's barber is a talker. It drives my husband crazy but I'm always interested in what the barber talked about because it is usually politics and I figure barbers get to interface with a lot of different people and get a lot of good gossip. Well, this week the subject was underground prisons because a prison guard customer was telling the barber about three underground prisons in my area, York, PA. He was told the prisons are for 'illegal immigrants'- LOL

Ask yourself if it's really any different than killing anyone
without reason , The government is very good at justifying it's actions and commands. If the servicemen are told that they are doing the right thing or doing their "duty" I think they will follow orders. I'm sure that there will be a lot of dissension but they will be quickly reminded of what happens when you fail to obey orders.
Hard to say what will happen but when the economy is this bad these men and women will be forced to do whatever they have to do to keep their jobs right ?

A lot of soldiers take that oath seriously.
Hell, when Romania was overthrowing Ceaucescu, the army was ordered to open fire on civilian protestors and they refused. That was a communist-trained army who were taught from birth that the state was more important than individuals. If they wouldn't do it, why should we be afraid of American soldiers doing it?

It's not true only dead fish go with the flow.

As an experienced surfer; your anology doesn't make much sense. We never take rip tides out to sea to fish. We just laugh at the hype surrounding them. Surfing actually requires fighting the tide or flow as much or more then going with it depending on the size of the waves. You're actually only going with the flow of a wave for a short period then you kick out and paddle back out against the waves coming in to wait for another.
It's a sort of toying with the flow as you please not just mindlessly going with it.

I think they will
maybe not all, but I think some will. A story will be thought up first to tell them why it needs to be done. A crisis will be created, lies will be told, and patriots will be said to be trying to destroy this country by rebelling.
They won't fire on their friends and families. They will rely on others to target their family, or even better yet they will operate under the belief that they are the law, therefor their families will not be touched. Their families aren't against the govt so they will be fine.
I don't think there will be an all out initial assault on civilians. It will be against those who have already been made to look crazy by the media. Those who they already have support in the publics eye for getting rid of. If they were to assault everyone to begin with, people would wake up. They've got to take out the bad seeds and then if that doesn't straighten everyone else up, they will move on to other groups.
