In 2012

He'd be 76 years old for crying out loud. He is more effective in the role of Moses than in the role of Pharoah.

Q. Who thinks we should select a VP candidate for a person who's probably NOT going to run for president again?

@ O @ -----> PEOPLE

THANK YOU RON PAUL

If you run, I'll be behind you.

If you don't run, I'll carry the torch on, in my own small way....which I believe was the entire point anyway.

This country has lost it's way not because the politicians have lost their way, or our government has lost it's way.

It's because the people have lost their way.

And it will take each and every one of us to re-educate the others. And it's going to take a long time. It took us decades to reach this level of broken-ness. It will take decades for us to forge a new breed of american...incorporating the great parts of our early individualistic spirit, combining that with the wisdom gained from our mistakes.

It may never come to pass. But we will "try".

I'm not surprised and I

I'm not surprised and I think he's doing the right thing. At the next elections the MSM will ignore him and make him look bad again. You must undestand the fact that you live in a country where the majority of the people are pure imbeciles...MSM will manipulate them again.

I mean look at Obama, he got 50 mil votes by simnply saying "change" over and over, without even bothering to be specific...at the same time most of the people will laugh at one of the most honest politicans in the whole word, who wanted to give us freedom and get rid of the income tax.

I talked recently to a guy who voted Obama and he laugh at the idea of not having income tax...he said "we need bridges"...I tried to explain him what Ron Paul said about reducing the size og the Gov. but the guy didn't care...he said "I don't mind paying taxes, except property taxes, but I don't mind paying taxes, the goverement can take all my money as long as they give me a car, a vacation in Mexico, food, etc"

The guy sounds like an imbecile but he's not, he is succesful in life...but for some reason his views about politics are screwed. Now cause Omaba will bring some troops home makes him even more fanatic about the kenyan.

“The more corrupt the state, the more laws.”

Obama only won the election

Obama only won the election by a very small margin, it was maybe 5% or so. Obama only had a few million more votes than McCain. Ron Paul would have very likely crushed Obama simply because Obama's ranks swelled with many Paul supporters after Dr. Paul officially dropped out.

...

Why are you surprised?

He was already an unwilling candidate in 2007/2008. Given his age and the poor support he is getting by the political establishment he would be silly to commit himself for the 2012 campaign. I highly respect the man but the important thing is the message and the experience we all have gained by supporting him and following his campaign.

Fellowship of the White Rose

Ron Paul was right

Look at what he has started!!!!

God Bless Dr Paul....he has done more for this country as a failed pres candidade then ANYONE I know.

If the answer is NO

then he needs to put his huge influence behind a strong contender who can WIN. If the answer is YES, then he needs to not be so discouraging about probably not.

I thought for absolutely sure that he would run third party after he was totally finished in the GOP. I never knew he was forbidden to do it by our idiot government or by the GOP as the case may be. So now I am skeptical that he has plans that are not on the table. I always thought he was holding something back. That he would throw the ball to someone strong if he didn't run with it. That didn't happen, so I am not second guessing any more. More than once in my life I have thought someone was still going to fulfill MY agenda when I was hearing otherwise.

I'm taking it for granted that Ron Paul is running again

You all seem to have forgotten that right after Ron Paul dropped out in June and started the Campaign for Liberty, the RonPaul2008.com website showed a thank you message from Ron Paul saying that Ron Paul would continue to spread the liberty message until his last breath and that was a promise.

So RP would have to break his promise by not running in 2012 since there is no better way to continue spreading the liberty message than running for president....no better way to raise millions for liberty than running for president.

I don't know about you all but I am taking it for granted that he's running since Ron Paul keeps his promises.

You cannot

take someone else for granted, only yourself, maybe.

christopher x if you leave

christopher x if you leave yy and bugman will have the last word! lol. Say your sorrycome back to the dailypaul and we can tell those guys how they brought you back.

reply

I will probably NOT drive my car with my eyes closed again, don't read anything into that statement because the freight train is a coming in 2010-2012

I would be lying if I didn't

I would be lying if I didn't say I was disappointed...but to those who are leaving this site, this is *not* a sinking ship! This is only the beginning of the fight. We need a lot of smart, articulate, passionate people involved in this cause...and the best will rise to the top. If we can't persuade Dr. Paul to change his mind, it will be up to us to find someone else. Don't give up hope!

Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
Thomas Jefferson

Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietam servitutem. ("I prefer the tumult of liberty to the quiet of servitude"). Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, 30 January 1787.

Bull shit! He will run.

For Freedom!

For Freedom!
STUGOTS! To the high and felutent establishment!
Paultian Powerhouse!

It's ironic.

That the truth about the nature of government, economics, and freedom should come from our conservative roots, yet (imo) most of the intelligent free-thinking creative people seem to be completely brainwashed by liberal media like NPR and Democracy Now (how about 'Constitutional Republic Now'?). I will try to illustrate my point. You could take any IQ, intelligence, or creativity test and apply them to the listening base of say Rush Limbaugh and compare them to the listeners of Democracy Now, and I believe you would find drastic disparities with the highest scores being from the Democracy now group. The problem is that we have people like Noam Chomsky who comes off as sounding very intelligent, and educated, yet he is full of **it, as compared to Ron Paul, who is right 99.9% of the time, but just doesn't have the speaking skills or the temperament to command everyone's attention (or the airtime).

I've been listing to Democracy Now and NPR daily for over a year now, and Ron Paul's name was mentioned maybe a few times in a passing statement over the course of that time. No details ever. Where as Dennis Cusenich has been interviewed and mentioned more times than I can count. As well as Ralph Nader. I would count Ron Paul and the r3volution as at least as news worthy as Cusenich and Nader if not very much more so
(6 mill. in one day?).

Evey day these two news sources have talking heads discussing the economy, and never is the true conservative position represented. Never is Austrian economics compared to Keynesian. Never talk of ending the fed. Never mentioned is the term 'fiat money'. No honest critique of socialism. Nothing. No where. All the things I've come to learn about the creation of money, economics, and individualism vs. collectivism since I first listened to the good Dr., never mentioned. Of course there is always someone on there who is supposed to represent the conservative perspective, but they don't. For example, we have the conservative politician arguing with the liberal economist about the best way to nationalize the banks and spend the bailout money.

I love Ron Paul. I really do. He is so obviously honest, integral, and respectable in my eyes. He would make the perfect reluctant leader, but sadly, I don't think he has the right personality and speaking skills that would enable him to capture people's interest like Obama did. Especially with the MSM against him. I think he could win hands down if our media was fair and included in the debate a real discussion of fiat money, fractional reserve banking, and the pitfalls of socialism, but as it stands, it's up to us.

I would vote for Chris Martenson

Agreed

If Dr Paul does not decide to run in 2012 hope is not lost. It is up to us as Americans to set things straight. I have been asked by many in our C4L group to run for congress in 2010. This is what needs to be done. Let us take back congress. The one point I would not enjoy would be to sit in the big hall of lies and cheer whenever 'jack in the box' pelosi stands up and cheers behind a lying president. The Doctor did not attend. I like that option, I did not think it was available.
Come on Americans it is up to all of us
Get to work
or get out of the way with the negativity
Peace

Thank God! Ron is forcing us to grow up and fend for ourselves

He will no longer be our crutch to lean on. Ron is not Jesus Christ, but pretty close.

Everybody in the Campaign for Liberty (100,000) and that includes the campaign volunteers mostly, plus every single Daily Pauler, plus every person in a third party like Libertarians or America First would ALL HAVE TO RUN FOR OFFICE. Yes, every one of us, to make a difference. Every single one of us will need to change their careers temporarily, and every body running would need to win, to make a difference.

Florida for example, is the most corrupt State in the Union, 834 convictions of elected officials, plus several on the way, including today's paper. See the Northwest Florida Daily News at www.nwfdailynews.com

The number of elected officials in Florida is about 6000 or 85 for each county. The whole united states has 513,000 elected officials. We only had 100,000 volunteers, which is not enough to run for even half the offices to get a majority.

I think the Daily Paul should start educating and stop being just a Ron Paul worship site, waiting every day for what others, or just he will do for you.

Stop being freeloaders. Grow up. Run For office and kick but.

There will be a Sheriff's office open soon in a special election in Okaloosa county soon... If you live there, then run for office, do not run for the hills.

FloridaPanhandle

1,000,000 voters for Ron Paul

That would be one to run for office for 513,000 offices and one to vote for you.

Ideas like the free state project are looking better all the time.

I like the idea of seceding like west Virginia did from Virginia. The panhandle should secede from Florida.

Will This Be On Sunday?

What is this interview from? Will it be broadcast Sunday on Scheiffer's show?

You have my support Ron!

I will support Ron Paul in whatever decision he makes because I know he is a man deserving of my trust. I don't think that Ron's age should be a factor, as I have read a lot of comments about his age. For me his age is a bonus. With age comes wisdom and we have all witnessed the wisdom Ron has brought to us, and to our country. I, for one, feel I am more wise than I was in high school and can't imagine how much more I will know when I am his age. I trust that Ron will make the correct decision, he has never failed us yet. If he decides not to run or to run for president, he will be making the best possible decision. I see a lot of people giving up and leaving just because you heard something you didn't want to hear. Things won't always be easy, and Ron can't always give you the easiest pill to swallow, but you should trust Ron to always provide the best medicine for the problem. I guess the few folks that are leaving are culling the DP herd of the sick and the weak, which will make us stronger in the fight for liberty. Ron....you have my support! And, yes, Ron Paul is my president!!!!!

and i don't blame you one

and i don't blame you one bit ron. the people had their chance, they blew it. now they must suffer the consequences.

for all these people that claim to support you and believe in liberty, i've noticed a few things:

1) you didn't win the primary. many many many people supported you, but weren't willing to switch to GOP to secure your victory. for whatever reasons, i guess "what other people think of them" or "laziness" or "stupidity" was more important than freedom.

2) most people didn't bother spreading the word. "oh that's for those other people to do."

3) most people secretly agreed with you, but didn't have the BALLS to stand up and proclaim it publicly! maybe they would be seen as "conspiracy theorists" or "kooks". awwwwww!

4) how many people bothered bringing a PEN along to the polls to write you in?

they deserve exactly what they got. i, for one, am seriously considering switching to the other side.

so who wants to join the obama 2012, obama 2016 and obama 2020 campaign?

This is the kind of stuff that I hate about Ron Paul

Unless it's a definite NO or a YES he needs to keep his mouth shut about these things instead of constantly destroying his base.

Can someone who can get in touch with Ron Paul clue him in on how things work in the world?

You poke a hole in someone's hope like that and they are going to 'PROBABLY NOT' send you money or help you out either.

No more wishy-washy/Foot-in-Mouth Syndrome Paul.

You either are or you aren't.

Otherwise say, "We'll see in 2012."

You think he would have learned not to do this from his last campaign, but apparently not.

This is the kind of stuff I hate about supposed

Ron Paul supporters... or I would *assume* they were supporters if they were on the Daily Paul. You don't sound particularly fond of Ron Paul, so what do you care if he said he's "probably not" going to run again?

Does he have a crystal ball? He's not allowed to be honest and say he's not sure yet but the idea doesn't sound too enticing, especially after all the crap he had to go through just to get on debates or on ballots and all the rigging going on?

What's your problem, you can't just be grateful he's finally being allowed to get his message out? Why don't *you* go run for President since you're so knowledgeable about how things work in the world.

Or maybe you should just stick your own foot in your mouth Openrevolt. If Ron Paul needs your advise he'll ask you for it.

We will change this country when we STOP looking for

a hero. WE must do this not Ron Paul, he has done enough. NOW it is our turn.

Hillarious response since I said the same thing to you

On the Zeitgeist Addendum posts and your hope in miracle machines.

Absolutely

I agree

It is up to us. What he has been doing is hard work. We need to join him in educating the sheeple. Maybe someday we will be heard.

I dare say he knows better than most how things work

in the world and especially in Washington.
His powerful message is still spreading.

Ron Paul has more achieved and is becoming a familiar face right across America, his exposure since the elections has increased exponentially. Mention one presidential candidate who is in the news as much as Dr. Ron Paul who I can see now as representing the Republican Party. Never mind Jindall..

It wouldnt surprise me if

It wouldnt surprise me if hes getting the airtime because the republican party knows ron paul is the best face they have. Like him or not. . It is up to us though. We have to run for office in droves... any office.
