Teen catches fire while trying to kill head lice with gasoline.

The mother looks to me like the typical dumb american, she also look and act like a regular marijuana user...I wonder if she's not the one starting the fire when she went in to the bathroom smoking a joint.

I'm sorry to say but I saw cats more worried for their kittens then this mother is about her daughter, is something wrong with the american families today, to me american families are and act more like they are roommates...no love, no respect, no understanding, no helping each other, no standing united, etc.

What I find amazing is the fact that the girl was not alone, her boyfriend was also there...so at least three persons knew about her conditions and nobody was able to come with a better solution or $10 to buy something to kill the bugs...absolutely amazing !

I hope she will make a full recovery...and who the (profanity) was the imbecile giving pictures with her to the Media ?

Why does this remind me of the methodology behind the cure for the economic crisis?

I lived in north Texas, and red ants were a problem. The accepted cure for red ants was to pour gasoline into/onto the ant hill & light it. One of my good friends who lived in another community burned himself bad doing this (we were 11 or 12) - He really wasn't expected to live. He did, but the scares were incredible (whole torso, both arms face & neck), and he didn't / couldn't sweat. From that day forward, I have had a very healthy respect for gasoline-I never use it for a solvent or an accelerant, let alone a pesticede! Yea, our parents knew we were doing this and their parental guidance was "be careful & don't get your clothes dirty & don't get any gas on your gun". Thank god, CPS didn't exist then!

I saw something like this at the Darwin Awards. After some woman treated herself with gasoline for head lice she went outside to "light up" (have a smoke).

I'm not sure if there's gasoline in it or not.

I have long hair and so does my daughter.

She is grown now, but when she was in school and with babysitters, I was always concerned about that.

Lice. What a nightmare that would be for anyone. I have heard it is difficult to get rid of, even with the treatments formulated for it.

I have heard of some "home remedies", but never gasoline.

A coworker suggested oil...cooking oil. Said it smothers them. I hope I never have to find out.

I blame the parents on this one - in the video the mom admits the daughter was struggling to get rid of them. Why didn't the mom & dad do more to help with the medical issue?

Back in the 50s when I was growing up parents used Kerosene to get rid of head lice. Did it outside and had enough sense to stay away from fire. One application did the trick. Cost about 10 cents.
