Paul Craig Roberts: A Banana Republic By 2012? Change for the Worse

President Obama has presented the most irresponsible budget in US history. His fiscal year 2010 budget projects federal spending of $3.5 trillion and a federal deficit of $1.75 trillion. In other words, 50 percent of the government’s budget consists of red ink.

Obama’s bhttp://www.dailypaul.com/node/add/forumudget deficit for 2010 alone exceeds the totality of “Reagan Deficits” for Reagan’s two terms of office.

And Americans are angry that sub-prime borrowers took mortgages they couldn’t afford.

The bald fact is that the US government is going to have to borrow–or print–half of the money it intends to spend in Obama’s first budget. This fact has fallen through the cracks as New York Times headlines proclaim “A Bold Plan Sweeps Away Reagan Ideas.” It certainly does sweep away Reagan ideas. No Reagan budget ever presumed that the federal government could borrow half of its annual expenditures. Indeed, Obama’s budget deficit for 2010 alone exceeds the totality of “Reagan Deficits” for Reagan’s two terms of office.

All of it? Do you dismiss Paul Craig Roberts because his article gets posted at InfoWars? My goodness! The point is less the website and more the writer and his well-known contributions, yes?

You give yourself away when you weasel way into a taunt about 9/11 in the guise of "concern" about this particular website. This article paints the most stark, startling portrait of our current circumstances and yet you see fit to start a "fight". Shame on you.

You HAVE made great improvements on your patience with these types. But the credit is all yours. I need to practice the same level of patience when confronted with idiocy, such as this.
I am obviously easily provoked. Whino knows this, and that is part of the reason why he did it.

I don't even know why such a sight would garner front page news.

I know that there are quite a few moderators that are inside jobbers, tolerate or love AJ, and read this link, but I can't even thirst up a need to hit on this link to see if the info is worth anything or not. Quite sad, if you ask me, because I usually have an open mind.

I probably would have hit the link if this sour taste in my mouth wasn't there. The taste created by the early bad decisions by Mr. Nystrom to put inside jobbers in charge of this site. A choice that he is slowly rectifying, but not quite there yet. A choice that, to this very day, still causes some posts to disappear and others to stay, purely on an ideological perspective.

Even I, am starting to close my mind. And if you can close my mind, you can not open the minds that count, the ones that will create change relatively quickly.

I apologize for the rant, but I felt it was needed.

I wish I had done half as much in exposing the truth as Alex has though. Thanks for the complement.

I never go there and if I hadn't found the article at any other site I wouldn't have sent it to many of the ppl in my IM contact list.....and I don't even believe the official story of 9/11 haha!!!

I don't know why you feel the need to cast aspersions on the moderators and Michael Nystrom simultaneously. I have found the other moderators to be very lenient, almost excessively so, and I never moderate anyone's post based on what they think of conspiracy theories, or their political philosophy.
