Ron Paul's First Hundred Days!
I know it will be all conjecture, but with the snail's pace of the Obama camp (some say 'reverse pace') I started thinking of all the things that Dr. Paul would have accomplished(IMHO) in his first hundred days in office.
What would the landscape look like by now? Who would be happy? Who would be sad? How close would we be to what we wanted and how would it be received?
Here's a short list of my thoughts. Feel free to add your own but try to be realistic.
1) First and foremost, all aggression in the gulf would have been ceased.
2) Troops would already be rotating out, Nat'l Guard first.
3) Gitmo would be closed, not almost closed. Not closed real soon. Closed.
4) I believe a federal income tax holiday would be in place while the dissolution to the IRS was contemplated.
5) None of the bail-outs would have been approved.
6) Large, overextended businesses would be in chapter 11 right now, trimming their own fat and paring down rather than waiting for gov't money.
7) A moratorium would have been granted shielding new businesses from government regulations during their first 5 years. That would allow for the regulations to be done away with before the sunset on the moratorium.
8) All incentives for business to off-shore American jobs would be repealed.
9) All farm subsidies would be abolished.
10) There would have been a laundry list of executive orders and signing statements that would have been overturned instead of added to.
There. That alone would have gotten the country moving in the right direction. It wouldn't be pretty, not for a while. Massive unemployment would shrink as the newly formed companies started hiring staff. The hemorrhage of war debt would come to a close as the violence subsided. Troops would return home and be sent home with the thanks of a grateful nation.
The simple fact that the war was over, new business was snapping up the unemployed and people were actually getting to keep the fruits of their labor would go a long way toward making Ron Paul the greatest American president ever known.
And I didn't even mention the Federal Reserve...did you notice that???
I left that for you guys.
What else could he have done in one hundred days?

Happiness would return!
No need for "hope" we'd all be happy!
That's a great post. Man, we sure do wish it would've happened!
Sadly, I think on day 2 of his Presidency he would've "had a heart attack" and his VP would've died in a plane crash.
I'd Add.
DHS would be eliminated, and most of the un-necessary federal agencies not mentioned in the Constitution.
No more war on drugs.
The department of DEQ would be cut by 90% or more, allowing natural resources to once again be turned into useful products right here in the USA!
Competing honest currencies would spring up overnight.
The state militias would form again, protecting Ron Paul and the rest of us.
Amendment XVI would be getting abolished. {Tax law }
Health care cost would plummet with insurance companies not dictating medical and medicine prices.
All 10 Bill of Rights Amendments would be in full affect once again.
Justice would once again be served with speedy trials.
The United Nations, IMF, and all foreign owned companies would be under Constitutional law.

Your lips to God's ears...
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
Thought I'd go resurrect this thread...
In light of Capt. Sh*thead's first hundred days.
Actually, Obama's first 100 days can also be referred to as "GW Bush's extension by proxy" since it's just a continuation of the failed policies of the previous administration(s) and, in some cases, the players didn't even change.
Just imagine what would have happened if RP was in that office.
We'd be America again...
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
"GW Bush's extension by proxy"
Getting closer...
Actually I think of Obama's day 100 more as
George HW Bush's day 7405.
Nothing of substance has changed since the initial Bush betrayal. Ronald Reagan, for all his wholesome rhetoric, is not much better than George Herbert Walker Blithe Jefferson Walker Hussein Obama, but at least he substantially slowed the growth before "Read My Lips" overturned the fragile "Reagan Revolution."

How about just making the banking institutions
what their essence should really be, a safe haven for savings? People and businesses earn and want a safe place to place their savings until they choose another use. People who actually produce something or earn a legitimate income accumulate savings. As they do, they can reinvest in their communities and create jobs, but it will all be without leverage and speculation. Banks would become just a safe storage house for savings. Perhaps small fees to banks to pay staff to protect and staff the facilities.
Eliminate all gambling. No derivatives, credit default swaps, etc. And for businesses to expand they must use cash reserves for capital. No lending and no raising of capital through stocks, thus no skewed asset values and inflated cap space on corporations. It would bring back small efficient businesses.
Then just concentrate on growing good local food and we would have an entirely different world. Lots of free time to spend enjoying your life, family, friends...
Barter is better and small is beautiful.

None of these things would have happened.....
because Ron Paul would never have been "allowed" to take office.... if you get my drift. The forces we are up against are more than ONE man can thwart. It will take the entire society changing their thinking and demanding real change in Washington. I would prefer Dr. Paul ALIVE and working day by day in Congress and almost daily on national TV, educating, educating, educating.
After 30 years of plodding along, he is finally seeing results. It is up to us to show him continued vigor for the cause of freedom. He deserves this!

do you think he would excercise executive power?
being as it is unconstitutional?
There is a web
Of executive BS he could untangle starting with the "wars".

Look what he has accomplished in this first 65 days! Not bad!
Some of Paul’s most recently sponsored bills include:
H.Res. 216: Amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to ensure that Members have a reasonable amount of time to read legislation that will be voted upon.
H.R. 1348: Federal Reserve Sunshine Act
H.R. 1311: Unemployment Assistance Act of 2009
H.R. 1312: Unemployed Tax Relief Act of 2009
H.R. 1654: Cures Can Be Found Act of 2009
And overall only 2 bills out of 344 ever made it out of committee. That angers me!
Ronald Paul has sponsored 344 bills since Jan 7, 1997. of which 342 haven't made it out of committee and 0 were successfully enacted. Paul has co-sponsored 1910 bills during the same time period. (Starting Sept 17, 2008, these numbers do not include resolutions. In addition, the count of enacted bills considers only bills actually sponsored by Paul and companion bills identified by CRS that were themselves enacted, but not if they were incorporated into other bills, as that information is not readily available.)

Make Hemp Legal
Just think of all the jobs hemp alone could give people!!!!
Also I think anyone that got a mortgage through or with the help of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should be allowed to keep their homes..and no more payments made.
Freedom is another way to God...A corrupt government is a straight way to hell.
I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change

Think of all the ancilary buisinesses that would spring up...

Mercury Dollars
Would be issued by US Treasury, made of silver alloy, net wt 1 gram, same diameter as the Dime. Also retromonetize all pre-1965 US & Canadian silver coinage at ten times face value. Throwing a bone to Democrats and modern liberals, Jack Kennedy could come back to circulating coinage on a new Five Dollar coin (and retromonetize the 40% Kennedy halves from the 1960s to five dollars as well.)
