HR 45 - this will destroy the 2nd amendment if it passes

Did I miss a previous post about HR 45? This bill was introduced on January 6th of this year and has yet to be voted on, so people really need to hammer their representatives with the appropriate level of outrage that they'll have to deal with if they vote for this appalling piece of political trickery.

If you've not heard of it, it requires every gun owner to apply and pay for a gun license, complete with photo ID, multiple written tests and thumprint. There's no restriction placed on what this license will cost and they're given full power to refuse it arbitrarily if they wish.

It requires a federal firearms register that you're responsible for keeping up to date with details of your firearms. So the government will have a full list of every gun owner in America and what guns they own, who they've sold on to etc etc.

It gives the AG's office the authority to search your person or property during normal business hours without a warrant if you own a gun. Not just if you sell them, which would be bad enough, if you own one. They don't need a reason, they can just do it.

Perhaps most sinister of all, it gives the AG's office the authority to ban any type of firearm they like. With no exceptions.

It's the first big step down the road to the complete annihilation of the 2nd amendment. And that's a very hard road to turn around on once you're on it.
