GIVE ME 10% POLLING IN NEW HAMPSHIRE RON PAUL!!!
Submitted by davidg11 on Tue, 11/20/2007 - 22:20I donated on November 5. I was proud to do so. However I wasn't exactly thrilled we were only polling at 4-5% in New Hampshire at the time.
When I heard the idea of the Tea party, I said to myself I would only donate again if Ron Paul's campaign could use what we donated to raise awareness to 10% polling in New Hampshire.
Today we get a letter stating they need the money quicker than they originally asked it. I have no problem with that if Ron Paul hits 10% in the next two weeks. But if not, nothing more from me until he reaches that polling milestone.
I tell you this because at some point the campaign has to assume responsbility for getting the message out and selling that message with our donations. I was pleased to see Ron recently uptick in 3 polls up to 7%. Today I saw another poll place him at 8%, So the trend is there.
I wish him and his campaign good luck and I wouldn't discourage anyone from donating to him early, I just think if they want the right to ask for money when they like, then they should perform accordingly.

I guess some people just don't "get it"
Please let this damaging thread scroll of the front page of DP. This one fair weathered friend is NOT WORTH THE EFFORT.. and certainly not worth the damage this thread is doing. I beg you all not to respond to this damaging thread.
get to NH anyway you can to
get to NH anyway you can to knock on some doors, or write some letters... that's how to help reaching whatever percentage. What's this funny "they" and "we" mentallity?
Please, please please..let this thread die the death it so
richly deserves.. This thread is an embarrassment. I watched it scroll of the list praying that no one would post here before it did. Someone had to dig back in the archives and yank it back up here. Please see my post a couple of messages down as to why this thread deserves no further comment.
Paul.
We will be closer to 15% in New Hampshire
Too many independents in New Hampshire to have any less.
Give me 10% -- or else?
You've got the cart before the horse. You want the campaign to build results -- in a measurement it does NOT control -- before you donate.
You cannot tell a builder to build you a house, and then, IF you like it,
you'll pay for it.
The campaign can only control what it spends, where, and when. The WHEN depends on how much money it has at any given time. Campaign advertising is NOT run on credit cards with payments later;
it is strictly cash in advance. IF you truly want to see 10%, donate NOW to help make that happen.
Getting the result you want is like baking a cake: you have to have all the ingredients together, you have to use the money wisely, and you have to wait. Without any one of the ingredients -- in this case, money -- you will not get the result you want.
Get your credit card and/or checkbook out today.
Our Campaign, not the Ron Paul Campaign
davidg11. This is our campaign, we remaining free people who are aware enough to do something about keeping our freedom. Ron Paul has just given us the opportunity to do something about it. If your not "trilled" about the 4-5% polling in New Hampshire, do something about it. This is our campaign for our freedom. From your post, if Ron Paul doesn't get some arbitrary % you have set in NH, you're going to take you marbles and go home. Maybe you should reconsider, OUR CAMPAIGN for freedom needs all the help it can get!
Why waste all the bandwidth.
This thread is stupid. If this guy wants to take turn tail and run, let him. By responding to this guy, you are keeping this very damaging thread visible. He's just one person. He seems to be a fair weathered friend. Where's he gonna go and who will he give his money to? Nowhere that's worthwhile that's where. If he can't see the writing on the wall and realize that Ron is our last best hope, then that's his problem and not ours.
Even though he has been here long enough to not be called a troll, his actions emulate one. Drop this moronic thread please and let sleeping dogs lie. If he leaves, he leaves, so what... this fight is much bigger than 1 fair weathered friend. Sometimes I wonder why so many here have so much trouble seeing the forest for the trees, holy cow...

Negative
I fire negative people. Your last post was this:" 61% of New Hampshire Republicans would NOT VOTE for Ron Paul"
Posted November 21st, 2007 by davidg11
Seems you dwell on the negative, and like to post the same. I think the Red states . com would appreciate your comments, so why don't you post them there.

pat buchanan
Pat Buchanan was polling 1-2% in NH before he upset the establishment and won that primary. Polls are not votes and it is not over until it is over. Watch some games this weekend. Have you never hear of upsets before?
whine much?
seriously, why don't you keep this stuff to yourself. because you are wasting my time making me point out that you are being silly.
MAN!!! THE POLLS THEY ARE
MAN!!! THE POLLS THEY ARE DOING
1.) ALL ON LANDLINE TELEPHONES.....NOW IN THIS DAY AND AGE ONLY OLD PEOPLE HAVE A LANDLINE....I MEAN, NEITHER OF MY PARENTS EVEN HAVE ONE.....
2.) THEY ARE POLLING TO REGISTERED REPUBLICANS, MAINLY PEOPLE THAT WERE REGISTERED REPUBLICAN THE SECOND TIME BUSH WAS ELECTED.....SO BASICALLY A BUNCH OF OLD-BUSHIE TYPES
3.) EVEN AMONG THESE TYPES OF PEOPLE HE STILL DOUBLES HIS PERCENTAGE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE.....!!!
WHEN VOTING TIME COMES AND HE WINS NEW HAMPSHIRE...THEN PEOPLE WILL SEE THAT THE POLLS HAVE BEEN BS THE WHOLE TIME!!!!
T.
Stop this BS, PLEASE!
Its a proven fact that Ron Paul's name is mentioned 1 time for every 10 times Rudy, Mitt, Huck, Fred and McCain and Thompson
That equates to 50 mentions of other Republican for every uteranvce of "RON PAUL"
It is amazing to me that PAUL is even polling 5%.
This is success folks in the face of Mitt Romney giveing his own campaign 30 MILLION of his own personal wealth.
Stop bitching and give Dr. Paul some cash!

That's what the money is for
Well that's what all the money is for. To bypass the mainstream media and to get the word out to New Hampshire voters.
There are only 500,000 households in New Hampshire.
So $14 million dollars should be MORE than enough to reach them all.
Assuming 20% are democrats, that's 400,000 households to reach.
Ron Paul could send a nice DVD to every single house for $2 a pop and spend less than $1 million in New Hampshire. That's the power of money.
You have a point, davidg
If 500,000 households is correct, then you are completely right, it's actually possible to send out a DVD to every single household.
My God.
That MUST be a better way to spend the money than $400,000 on radio ads running for two weeks on some channel.
Polls don't reflect..
the actual support for Ron Paul. I've said it before and I'll say it again! In my meetup, we had 50 people attend. Out of 50 people, FIVE raised their hands when asked who was a registered republican and voted so in the last primary. Lots of the polls are only counting those that voted republican in the last primary. Just think, the last primary was W running unopposed. That's kind of a small group of people that were determined enough to vote in such a primary, nationwide. So 45 people at our meetup did not vote last primary, are not registered republican, but ARE going to be voting for Ron Paul this primary.
The question to me is not "why isn't he doing better in the polls?", the question to me is when are the archaic polls going to get up to speed with what is happening today in our society.
And don't forget the whole cell phone vs land line factor.
We stand up on overpasses with banners and get a 12-25% positive response from cars (honking, lights flashing and enthusiastic waving are counted as positive responses).
The polls are dinosaurs, in their current execution.
Polls are dinosaurs?
You realize we are all theorizing that the polls are inaccurate. And maybe they are. However polls claim to skew results in order to factor in the cell phone user. How this is done, I haven't a clue. Most likely by age, I'd assume.
The simple fact is this.
Ron Paul does need votes from disgruntled landline moderate or liberal republicans on the war, and I really don't think 10% landline polling in that area is such a impossible feat to accomplish when you have $14 million in the bank to get the word out.
Let's face it. If you want to win the Republican primary, you need republicans to do so!
Bush won in 2004 with 50,000 votes in the NH primary.
McCain won in 2000 with 115,000 votes in the NH primary.
Those are the numbers to work with. Fortunately the race is so splintered this time around, that should work into Ron Paul's favor.
real poll
The real poll is the primary. Don't give up now, we're almost there! This is the home stretch. Don't you remember John Kerry was polling third or fourth in Iowa, and he won to everyone's surprise? You can tell me I am wrong after the primaries, but if you give up now, you'll never know what could have been. Have some turkey and sleep on it.
1% was a bummer, but 8% is awesome
Each one of the 8% supporting Ron Paul needs to convince 92 people in 45 days. Definitely not that difficult. Oh, and that is not for a majority or even a landslide but for unanimous. At 1% it did seem overwhelming but 8%? And to have gone from 1% or 2% to 8% having almost zero media coverage (until Nov 5th, anyway)? Amazing. Any of those 8% will reconsider and decide to switch support back to Guiliani? Don't think so. Only if they completely give up hope, maybe. So polling, the worst indicator of Ron Paul support, shows him up another 4% in a month. Something is going very, very well. If 500,000 people voted for him in 1988, where are they? Are there 1 million Libertarians? They need to throw at least $10 to Ron's campaign. What are they waiting for? Some friends told me about a constitutionalist who hadn't heard about Ron Paul. A constitutionalist???? Enough waiting ... Give December 16th, give now, too if you can. Talk to people as you go. Anybody got a recommendation for the best portable mp3 player to use to spread the message? Looking for inexpensive. Go Ron Paul!!!!
From 3-4% to 8%
I think people need to look at it this way too. The media doesn't care about Ron Paul unless he breaks 10% in any poll. Look what happened to Huckabee in Iowa. He was relatively low on the totem pole and then one poll jumped him up to the 20% range last week.
What happened after that? A media blitz and buzz about Huckabee ensued. Interviews everywhere.
It's great that Ron Paul gets free press coverage for raising money, however its always followed by the question "why are you so low in the polls?"
I think it would be nice to raise a significant amount of money and point to a poll showing that Ron is in the teens polling in New Hampshire. THEN the media buzz will really take off because poll numbers will start to match donation power.
actually....
great point. except that for unanimous, each of the 8% only needs to convert 11.5 people. (92 people divided among 8).
; )
Good catch
But I'm still going for 92. : )
Our own poll shows...
84% of US households have landlines. 40% of Paulites have landlines, judging from responses from dailypaul members.
http://dailypaul.com/node/8499
It's therefore possible that only half of the Paulites that should be polled are actually being polled.
If this campaign hasn't
If this campaign hasn't taught every one of us that the MSM "data" is not valid and cannot be trusted, I don't know what will teach us.
Do you really expect that the "annointed" will get anything less than the proper coverage in the big-business-controlled media?
How naive, how foolish!
"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." -- George Washington
"In matters of style, swim with the current. In matters of principle, stand like a rock." - Thomas Jefferson
Sad...
This post saddens me. What a typically 'consumer' way of looking at things. Keep your money you coward.. this fight is for people with more conviction and more heart.
Polls are rigged
If you stop contributing then you are playing right into the hands of the people who manipulate the polls.
Polls are BULLSHIT dont pay attention to them, do what you have to do.
The way I look at it is...
Look, the campaign had $5 million as of October and another $9 million now. That's $14 million since October.
The whole point of raising money is to get Ron Paul awareness out to New Hampshirians and selling the message.
Let me make it clear: I have already donated to the campaign on Nov 5.
I am simply saying I will not donate again until the campaign gets awareness of Ron Paul to New Hampshire folk from the 7-8% now to the 10% level. Yes, that includes all the biases in the polls. He still needs 10% of landline republicans to vote for him.
Now with 10% polling in New Hampshire, I would personally add 4% for cell phone only users, another 4-10% for independents and 2% for voter turnout in Ron Paul's favor. (Just because people choose someone like Romney doesn't mean they are passionate enough about him to go out to the NH primary to vote for him...that could play big in Ron's favor).
That would place Ron Paul at 20-26% in my book vs. Romney's 32%, or a second place finish.
However all of this means nothing if Ron Paul still ranks at 7% in New Hampshire.
How to get the message out
Today on the bus I brought the video of Mark Molaro-Naomi Wolf interview on my laptop and asked someone to listen to it. She got half-way through and then I neared my stop and needed to go. She wants to buy the book. I don't hear Naomi Wolf saying much about Ron Paul but I explained that Ron Paul supporters really connect with what Naomi Wolf is saying. I think if more people heard her they would realize the need to be alarmed and pay attention to what Ron Paul is saying. It woke her up a lot, in both senses of the word. I want to do the same thing with the Judge Napolitano speech where he breaks down how freedoms have been systematically broken down since 1975.
