To all those who've been AWAKE a long time
Submitted by Habit4ming on Fri, 03/06/2009 - 07:48
I would like to thank you for hanging in and not giving up; thank you for your patience...for 'waiting' for the rest of us. I can only imagine what you've gone through over the years. I've only been "awake" and am pretty sure there's much more I'm not privy to as yet...for a short time, and I get so disgusted, po'd, angry, worried, scared, et cetera. Going through that for years must have been very difficult, and I'd like to offer my appreciation.
Have a lovely weekend. I won't be around until Sunday evening...am headed south for a much-needed visit with family.
Love you guys...

been around a while
I got to vote for Dr. Paul in '88. It felt good then, it felt better last year because his following has grown significantly. And even more since last year.
I remember my first vote for prez was for Ed Clarke. As a teenager, registering to vote for the first time, someone approached me to register as a libertarian. I knew nothing about libertarians but liked what they said and went ahead and registered as libertarian. Later, I researched it and decided that was the party for me.
Been at this since mid 80's
!
yep sure could
and even though ive only been awake for 4 years it has seemed like 20
To all of you here
who are patting yourselves on the back about how "AWAKE" you are, and everyone else is a 'sheeple', or whatever.
If TODAY, you lost your electricity, and your phone, and your internet, could you survive for the next 2 years or so - with no help from anyone else ?
If not, maybe don't feel so smug !
Yes.
But I wouldn't enjoy it. Of course, it's always nice to have friends and help, too.
Life, Liberty, Property
we aren't being "smug" wake up ! it's all around man
stop being stubborn and look at the state of the world. People are starving and desperate but you won't see that on tv right ? do you believe TV ? thinkabout what you see before you believe what you are told. The truth is right in front of you on a bread line. but the media doesn't show you that do they ?

Stop the NWO....It's just illumi..Naughty !
Well, that's an issue of "awake" vs. "prepared".
You should be both.
I dislike the whole 'awake' thing myself. It smacks of superiority--or a religious cult, one of the two.

Can you be more specific? "Awake"?
Awake to what exactly?
Awake to libertarian philosophy or conspiracy theorism? I think most people here who have claimed they're "awake" are the conspiracy theorists - who I consider to be asleep. To them Dr. Paul would not be awake, because he thinks 9/11 was blowback rather than an inside job. And if you don't think contrails are chemtrails, they don't consider you "awake." And, so on. To them, being "awake" is ranting about crackpot theories that Dr. Paul never even talks about.
If you're talking about awake to the virtues of small government and laissez-faire capitalism, that's great.

9/11 was blowback! 9/11 was blowback! 9/11 was blowback! Not an inside job!

Not an uber fan of 'Awake' either, but...
I guess you could say you are "awake" if you know where things are headed further than 10 years out. The Ron Paul supporters, more than other candidates, take a multi-year view of what's happening. I don't think it's a conspiracy: it's just being able to trend well. Ron Paul can trend well. Some people, like Alex Jones, are ALSO able to trend well, but I take issue with him in that there's anything deliberate. I view it as a lot of people moving as a group in a predictable pattern:
- Political power is like gravity: the bigger it gets, the more mass it attracts to itself. So governments like to get bigger and more complicated, making it more difficult for the little guy to move on its surface or reach escape velocity. Or maybe you can describe it like surface tension: like two soap bubbles' surface tension will make them into one big soap bubble, but you never see a big soap bubble split into two little ones (it pops instead). The US, Canada, and Mexico are wanting to make a bigger soap bubble. It's not a sinister plan, but just the nature of politics. So we are headed in a regional, then global direction, but that doesn't mean the 'weight' that a US citizen feels is going to be any lighter: just the opposite. I think three layers of bureaucracy (local state federal) are enough. Some specific events agains that backdrop:
- Nixon takes us off Bretton Woods in 1971. Justifies it "As long as Americans keep buying Made in America, we'll be okay."
- As if on cue, both parties make it US policy to export factories in 1993 with NAFTA / GATT, in pursuit of cheaper labor. I guess they forgot the second part of what Nixon said, and we DE-Industrialized the USA.
- Floating Dollar + Outsourced Factories + National Debt + Baby Boom Retirement + regulations preventing NEW factories = writing on the wall. And that's mathematical.
- Eventually Uncle Sam will either default or print its way out of a crisis. Sufficient inflation and you've got to rebase your own currency.
- That can go one of three ways: Rebase Up with other countries (globalism), Rebase yourself, or Rebase down at the State Level. State Level is the direction I'd like to see it head: Use Article I Sec 10 to justify running the State Budget on a gold standard, and that decouples the state from being held hostage to a (chinese owned) T-Bill backed dollar. So we are already setting up the chess pieces several years from now if we need to go that route, and that's what these "Constitutional Tender" bills like Georgia's HB 430 are. (that actually HELPS Uncle Sam because it gives the US Treasury Dept a safety valve.) The international banking community is looking in the direction of a global currency, which will be a mistake because then the United States won't even control our own money anymore.
- No matter which way you rebase, China (who now has our factories) isn't going to like the prospect of holding a bag of devalued T-Bills. I personally see a conflict with the Chinese over it eventually, as they try to supplant us as a major power.
There are other things that factor in, like (in my case) the Strauss & Howe Generational Theory (google it), Thomas Friedman's "Flat Earth" (a mistake), and other stuff, but I still view that as just being able to trend well.

Awake
The insiders that were a part of 9/11 were awake, as are those, like yourself, that conspire to protect them troll.
MrTom
9-11 is not an "either / or" situation
But you know that, don't you my trollish little friend?
I DO believe Ron Paul is either still asleep, or more likely, has been threatened. One does not have to pick "inside job" or "blowback." One can stick with "That was NOT an investigation." Unless of course, one is a shill for those who want us to stop seeking truth.
And when folks say "awake" it is TRUTH they are talking about.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
So why to be "awake"
one has to talk about and believe in things Dr. Paul doesn't even mention?
Why isn't being "awake" being awake to the things Dr. Paul ACTUALLY TALKS ABOUT?
Dr. Paul has been threatened to not say 9/11 was an inside job but rather attribute it to blowback? LOL. Too much. So you think he lied, when he claimed in his famous debate with Giuliani that 9/11 was blowback.
The "TRUTH" is definitely not what you're talking about.

Again, you pretend there are only 2 positions on the matter
Truth is bigger than Dr. Paul. I am not a Dr. Paul zombie, I consider him a good man, with great spots, but a miserable failure in other spots. So I won't be hopping on the "whatever Dr. Paul says and does is good enough for me" bandwagon.
And you kind of out yourself with this stuff, most of us know Dr. Paul has been threatened.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
"most of us know Dr. Paul has been threatened."
Is this another "TRUTH"?
You just know things without evidence? Or do you have evidence for the claim Dr. Paul has been threatened?

yeah he was 'talked to'
there was an interview last year... can't remember what it was called ... its in the archives around here somewhere...
someone from the nwo ... said they'd have 'so and so' talk to dr. paul'. right after that he pulled out of the race.
the nwo ain't nice.
dr.paul has kids and grandkids. i don't blame him one bit.
more specific?
Your kind will be put to sleep first...when the time come Warbucks.
I am now 45. my grandfather
I am now 45. my grandfather introduced me to the cfr, bilderberg and trilateral commission stuff when I was 16 or 17. slowly he educated me. when I was majoring in football in college(lol)... He would send me conservative news letters and other reading material to keep me from getting brainwashed by the communist prophesors at the university.
I have had the privledge of watching this thing evolve now for 28 years..
I have been expecting some sort of collapse for a long time. and now I can see it. This is why I sometimes get frustrated and mad at other people on the daily paul.. most of them are young and do not have a clue. some are just anti conspiracy dolt trolls who spout their opinion with no facts.
It is not fun seeing things progeress as far as they have. I have told people to buy food, silver, gold, weapons etc. and especailly a small farm outside of the major cities. Just do the best you can. we are going to have a breakdown of the division of labor. You will have to be self suffiecient in growing your own food and security. now is the time to stockpile all the things that you buy at the store weekly.. and buy and store enough for your whole family for 2 years. For some of us that is not possible.. just do the best you can.. I will say this.. PURCHASE nonhybrid Seeds! those seeds will be worth more than gold! time is very short. you may only have a few weeks to a year to prepare..

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
Believe it or not the person
who opened my eyes was Bush. That was about six years ago.
I had a difficult time understanding his staunch stand on the war on terror and his equally staunch stand on illegal immigration and open borders. Sort of an oxy moron.
That's when I realized there was more to what was going on.
That's when I started doing some research and stumbled upon a news article not in a US paper, but a Mexican one. It talked about something called a Security Prosperity Partnership, it boosted about the progress being made between the US and Mexico.
Than my research led me to a report about Building a
North American Community and on and on it went. .
Once your eyes are open you start noticing all the lies and deception, not only in the present, but throughout history.
And your view of the world will never be the same again. The days of blissful ignorance are gone forever.
I had hoped the contradiction of the immigration/border issue...
...would be the "aha moment" for my brother.
He was all for Bush, except on that one thing.
No awakening, though.
But he does not like Obama, so I don't have to beat my head against the wall quite as hard now. :)
Maybe soon he will see that they are two sides of the same coin and hopefully that will make him rethink and look into all the other things, too.
P.S. Isn't if funny that an article about the SPP would be in a Mexican paper, but not here in the good ol' USA.
This was my eye opener
Notice how many times Public and Private are referred to in this release.
Isn't that corporatism, Isn't that someting Dr. Paul does not agree with.
Yet you have two governments advocating it. Sadly, one of those governments is...America.
Also notice Bush didn't waste any time in forging this agreement. According to the article it was 2001.

Mexico-US Prosperity Partnership: A Public-Private Bi-national Alliance
Friday, March 24, 2006
In 2001, by agreement between the presidents of Mexico and the United States, work formally began within this framework of bilateral cooperation known as the Mexico-United States Partnership for Prosperity.
Since then, the partnership has constituted a new mechanism for bilateral cooperation, the main objective of which is to forge public-private partnerships aimed at promoting new economic opportunities in both countries, particularly in regions whose economic development is lagging.
The results achieved by the partnership are proof of what can be achieved through joint efforts by government and the private sector. In this partnership, the governments of Mexico and the United States have served as facilitators, enhancing the experience and resources of the private sector in both countries to develop specific agendas within the sphere of competitiveness, financial services, housing, small and medium firms, human capital, rural development and infrastructure.
Theme-based working parties have been established with a four-part structure combining government offices and representatives of the private sector who are crucial to the development of common projects. This innovative arrangement has set an example for the whole hemisphere.
The first report by the Mexico-United States Partnership for Prosperity highlights the main achievements and results obtained in the course of this initiative, which have made a real difference to the lives of citizens in both countries:
• One of the partnership’s key priorities has been the reduction of the cost of the remittances sent by Mexicans living in the United States. Over the past five years, the costs of these remittances have been reduced by over 60% and they have largely been formalized due to the senders’ incorporation into the banking system.
• The signing and implementation of an investment agreement between the Mexican government and the US Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) which in 2005 alone facilitated the attraction of $600 million dollars of US investment in projects in the private sector.
• Closer links between new sectors with commercial opportunities which had previously not been utilized, by establishing formal mechanisms to initiate formal negotiations, such as the agreement signed between the most representative associations in the housing sector in Mexico and the United States, the US National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the National Chamber of the Industry of Housing Development and Promotion.
• The establishment of over 27 cooperation agreements between the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT), and US universities and research centers. Within the framework of the TIES program, the US Agency for International Development, the US Agency for International Development (US AID) has established 45 agreements to finance educational alliances between Mexico and the United States.
• In order to promote social responsibility in the business sector, the governments of both countries established the “Recognition of Responsibility for Prosperity,” or “Good Partner Award.” This recognition honors the exemplary efforts of Mexican and US firms and institutions, both large and small, to achieve social development in Mexico. The first awards were delivered in 2004 and the winners of the 2005 prize will be announced in May.
As a result of the above, within a short time, the Mexico-US Partnership for Prosperity has become a forum for bilateral cooperation, with an agenda of positive issues in which the public and private sectors of both countries will be able to establish a frank, constructive dialog for the development of projects of mutual interest.
The results constitute proof of what can be achieved through this unique model of cooperation that has served as an example for the entire hemisphere.

Just look at how well the joining of the public and private sectors have worked out especially in the areas of housing and finance.

Thank you for posting that article.
Yes, I thought the
same thing about the article. That's what peaked my interest and kept me digging.
Thanks for the post
It has been a long, strange and lonely experience for me.
My dad just told me I was starting to sound "Un-American"
He said he had to give Obama credit for trying to fix the economy. I said he's not trying to fix anything and he's trying to get us into a worse situation. I guess I'll be racist soon.
