The video worked for me !!!

Good Lord..

Did I just witness a dictatorship in action? Baker should be hung on a lamp post along with the rest of the usurpers.

Baker

Baker deserves to be tried for treason, and lynched.

I cant believe this fascist

I cant believe this fascist was in the Reagan Administration...probably hand picked by Bush.

Ventura 2012

Baker: In a Dictatorship Congress is Irrelevant.

Proposal: Cut Congress out. A small group of not-elected people can start a war without Congress and Congress can come in after the fact and try to undo what the handful of select people did, under threat of veto by the President.

Dr. Paul: "... very clearly stated in the Constitution, you cannot go to war unless the war is declared..." "...what we should worry about is our oath of office... as Congress people... the ominous responsibility we have..."

Dr. Paul: Your proposal, Mr. Baker, is tilting MORE power to the president to start wars. Tell me why you think my understanding is wrong??

Howard Baker III: "You're wrong, Congressman, because if you don't do anything you have the situation you're talking about...Presidents are going to do what's necessary to protect the National Security of the country...and they have the power, they claim, under the Constitution to do that, and you're not going to be able to do anything about it...".

Translation: In a dictatorship a Congress is irrelevant. It is simply dissolved if it stridently disagrees with the president. This proposal is intended to make Congress essentially irrelevant. I, Mr. Baker, expect and demand that Congress believe and accept that it is utterly impotent under the Constitution of the United States "to do anything about it"

george bush junior: "If this was a dictatorship, being president would be a whole lot easier, just as long as I am the dictator."

THE SOB Baker DIDN'T ANSWER THE QUESTION!!

and a sack of nothing cut dr. paul off from finding the answer. All baker said was the congress has a right to vote, not whether 1/3 of congress and the president can bring the nation to war unconstitutionally. SOB BAKER!!!

Constitutional question

Isn't that nice, Constitutionality isn't their problem because that's the Court's job! Just imagine the kinds of evil legislation that could be (and has been) passed with that sort of reasoning.

I guess we should stop sending letters/e-mails to our Congressmen, and start petitioning SCOTUS to save us. You know, the people that think "interstate commerce" means "anything that happens anywhere, for any purpose".

James Baker aye?

Thought he was still hiding under HW's bed? We have a James Baker Institute on the Rice University campus. I find the man repugnant. I feel the same about his institute. It's like naming InterContinental Airport after George HW Bush ( a pedophile according to children abducted and raped during the Franklin Bank sex scandal in Omaha Neb) Watch "Conspiracy of Silence" it will make you want to hunt these bastards down believe me! Naming these parks, institutes, airports after criminals gives their names credibility. I'm ashamed of the construction board at Rice for allowing this to happen. They could probably give a damn as the money was there in abundance (essentially stolen FED money afterall, if it's free to print it can be given in abundance) titles are bought afterall. This is no different, nor are the airports or the parks. These people are lower than whale shit. I'm just hoping that the people will come to realize this as in the next few years, maybe months, things are going to become very tough indeed.
I hope that's all it takes to get people to pull their heads out!

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

There trying to take away

There trying to take away the power of congress to the hands of a few. Jim Baker is and has been a traitor for decades

"Government"

is nothing but a spoiled child.

And we should

Spank them and send them to bed witout their bailout

This issue will blow up in their faces just like every other

un-lawful violation of the Constitution they've committed.

And we know the list is long. But revolt will come when the masses come-to and realize what's going on.

SIERRAHPBT

Your statement sum's it up quit nicely!

Here's what Ron Paul is

Here's what Ron Paul is talking about here. The war powers resolution said that the President can go to war without a declaration of war or consent from congress for up to 60 days (congress must be notified in 48 hours), but the troops cannot stay without a congressional approval after that point. (Nevermind the fact that the original war powers act is unconstitutional and the power to declare war is that of the Congress alone.)

So this committee is coming up with a new law to replace the War Powers Act and the idea they came up with is that the president and a congressional joint committee meet and discuss whether or not to continue the war.

So under the proposed law:

  1. President wants to go to war.
  2. If war lasts more than a week, President consults with joint Congressional committee.
  3. Committee says war is ok and the President is allowed to continue the war! No vote from congress, just the committee makes this vote.
  4. After 30 days the congress must either declare war or authorize the war. If neither are done then there must be a vote of approval.
  5. For congress to stop the war they must vote down the vote of approval, then there will be a separate vote of disapproval.
  6. The vote of disapproval passes congress and senate.
  7. President vetos the vote of disapproval.
  8. Veto must be overriden, which requires 2/3 of the congress!
  9. Then according to the committee's report (of which Jim Baker is a co-chair) the president can still ignore the vote of disapproval because it is NON BINDING !

So therefore it really takes LESS than 1/3 of the congress to go to war, just the members of this joint committee and the president. The joint committee is made up of just twenty (20) people. Thats only 3.74% of the congress!

optiquest...

thank you for you explanation, but let me ask you this and anyone else who understands better than I do...

you say the President wants to go to war. You are saying if it lasts under a week he can legally do this without congress?

also, you say after 30 days he has to ask congress to authorize or declare war and if they don't do either it goes for a vote of approval....

isn't that what authorization or declaration of war is...APPROVAL?! im so confused.

Thx for the breakdown!

It's often hard to try to figure out what they mean. All I can say now is, "Whatta Crock of Sh*!"; that 's outrageous like everything else they do.

Boy, as I understand more and more, I gotta give it up to Dr. Paul; what a hero!! How does he do it, putting up day after day w/that cr@p??

Reason Vs. Confusion

To Believe That A Small Number Of Powerful Men In The US Congress Can Decide The Matters Of The People Is An Anethema To A Constitutional Form Of Government..We have Corrupted The Republic With Degenerate And Immoral Lawmakers..

Thomas Paine Said It Best, "The Constitution Was Made Solely For A Moral People. When The People Cease To Be Moral, The Constituion Is Of No Effect."

Ron Paul Is The Conscience Of The Republic..There Is No Other..

God Help This Once Great Nation...And I Fear The Wrath That He Will Unleash If We Don't Wake Up Soon..

Here's what Patrick Henry had to say....

"Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom. No free government, or the blessings of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue; and by a frequent recurrence to fundamental principles."

My sentiments exactly!

"Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom." Patrick Henry

We have fallen so far

I pray we can stand up to these powerful forces.

The Executive Is Operating Under The Authority Of Emergency

Necessity knows no law.

"A passing glance [of The Constitution Annotated] will suffice for the operation of the due process clause of Amendment V in the domain of foreign relations and the war power. The reader has only to consult in these pages [The Constitution Annotated] such holdings as those in Belmont v. United States, Yakus v. United States, Korematsu v. Unites States to be persuaded that even the Constitution is no exception to the maxim, inter arma silent leges."

and,

"What they [the case law regarding war powers] sum up to is this: that what was once vaunted as a Constitution of Rights, both State rights and private rights, has been replaced to a great extent by a Constitution of Powers. The Federal System has shifted base in the direction of a consolidated national power; within the National Government itself there has been an increased flow of power in the direction of the President; even judicial enforcement of the Bill of Rights has faltered at times, in the presence of national emergency."

These annotations were written back in 1964. Much has changed since 1964. Sadly, the changes are not in favor of personal liberty and the Executive is now a Dictatorship, cloaked in a romantic title called "President".

In short, (the research on this subject takes years of diligent reading dating back to George Washington) you are living in a country that has been conquered. Personal Liberty exists only by approval and grace of the executive. Your rights are gone and have been transformed into privileges that can be suspended or revoked at the whim of one man.

If you read Yick Wo v. Hopkins, you will find there is a discrepancy between the little known fact that we live under a state of national emergency and the Supreme Court decision that your rights are unalienable.

The sad fact is most all Attorneys know this, but take silent judicial notice. They want you to believe you are free.

Be well.

Larry
