RNC: Shortage of tech workers to build platforms, apps
The Republicans had big dreams of catching up to their Democratic counterparts when it came to the utilizing technology to advance their causes. Last summer, the Washington Post profiled the man that the Republican National Committee was counting on to take them to the next level, Microsoft and Yahoo veteran Cyrus Krohn.
The Post’s “44″ blog reports today that Krohn has resigned from his position as the RNC’s online director, calling it a “heavy blow - not just to the RNC but to the conservative blogosphere.” It was just two weeks ago, at a technology summit, that RNC Chairman Michael Steele said that leveraging the Internet to attract voters to the party was a top priority. And now, the RNC is without an online director.
......
Change comes quickly online and the tide will turn again in favor of the GOP, once we hone our message and harness emerging technologies. To do that, we must match Democrats, programmer-for-programmer. Regrettably, we’re in terribly short supply of professionals focused solely on building platforms and applications. This is where we got dot bombed in 2006 and 2008. Maybe we should start providing computer science scholarships in exchange for a commitment to serve our party?

Much too funny, maybe we can help them out... if they will get out of the way. ;-)

The GOP and Technology
From my perspective as a tech guy is the chance the GOP had for getting onto the internet and using it to the best of its ability died when the republican party shelved those in the Ron Paul movement.
They have told us in no uncertain terms that our money, our sweat and our toil are needed, but the idea's that we bring with us will not be tolerated.
I have found from my own personal experience that when the word "compromise" is used for working with the GOP elite, we are the ones that are required to compromise.
Those who are part of the Ron Paul Revolution should decline any involvement within the republican establishment unless they are willing to move more towards liberty.
The true measure will be as the high guard are removed from their positions of power and true conservatives start filling those positions, we will see a rush of the elite demanding 'We' compromise with them.
The trick will be to give them enough support work within the party to satisfy their lust for power without allowing them to take back over the party that true conservatives rebuilt.
For now, my tech skills will continue to be available to those that believe in freedom, liberty and true conservatism, not just a glossy veneer that reflects it while hiding the rotted core of Fascism and Globalism underneath.
this is really funny from my perspective...
