HQ email NOT cannabalizing Tea Party... Look at the ###

Guys... look at the numbers of Donors and Total raised since the email went out:

Donors: ~2,800
Money: ~$240,000

Thats not a whole lot compared to the Nov. 5th money bomb. On top of that, you have to take into account how many of those 2,800 even knew about the TEA PARTY. Then, how many of those 2,800 are no longer going to donate again for the Tea Party.

We have nothing to worry about. The Tea Party is not being cannabalized.

HQ just wanted to fire up the supporters and raise some cash, and Bydlak was probably a bit over-zealous in his email.

Ron Paul has mentioned the Tea Party in interviews, and it has been published in many newspapers. DO NOT CHANGE THE DATE.

NO NEED FOR CONFUSION.

The campaign will be fine, and the effect of the 16th will be IMMENSE.

What the campaign is trying

What the campaign is trying to say is that we should be donating all the time, if we are able too. We shouldn't wait a month and just have a big bomb, donate whenever possible. He'll still raise the same amount of money, it just won't be all in one day.

How about a DAILY money bomb from NEW supporters?

There are 14 million service sector workers out there waiting to hear about Ron Paul's TAX FREE TIP ACT.
14 Million!
And they take immediate personal and viral action.
I suggest we take a special day and refrain from posting negative posts (which never produce anything of value) and call just one restaurant - get an email address and forward the TAX FREE TIPS ACT email to them.

you guys are silly

getting all creative using the word 'cannibalizing' as if there's so great conflict. big deal, seriously!

True...

the other upside is that we BEAT the Huckster's money-bomb.

He was trying to raise 1,000,000 today. Or was it 1,000,000 BY today for this month.

There was a story on fox news about it.

Hopefully they correct it and say something like:

"And Mike Huckabee tried to pull off a Ron Paul and raise 1,000,000 in one day. He got a quarter of the way there. On a side note... the Paul campaign, through 1 email, raised more than the planned Huckabee event."

Nice Link! I'm Glad Fox Now Admits

that Ron Paul is the dark horse candidate! You gotta love Carl Cameron's last line though...Paul has not caught fire in the polls like Huckabee...

But hey! At least Carl (Fox) mentioned Paul!

Yeah!

I agree totally!!!!!!

i agree

today's email will not wreck the Dec 16th effort, even though by my reading and rereading of it, that's exactly what was intended by it.

i was pretty concerned, though, just after the email to see Dan over at ronpaulgraphs posting about Dec 16th being too late to make any difference and seeing numerous people hear making similar comments. i figured the campaign could easily, through emails like this one, really wreck the enthusiasm building for Dec 16th. then, rather than having a slow trickle now and a huge bang then, it will just be a slow trickle the whole way thru (with probably somewhat of a bump on the 16th).

i think cooler heads will prevail. people are giving now (myself included), which is good. and it seems just about everyone is still on board to make Dec 16th twice as big as Nov 5th. i just hope we don't get repeats of today's email. appeals for money today or even special "official" drives (like the radio ad drive just before Nov 5th) - fine. disparaging the Tea Party push - not so fine.

Well said, and I'm glad to

Well said, and I'm glad to hear this kind of talk here now. I don't like to see us divided. I think today's email was unfair and a mistake to include teaparty.com. We have a history of donating when asked, and he should not have asked us to not donate to the bomb, which will break the record for the biggest online fundraising day in history (previously broken by US just this month!)

The wording of the e-mail was curious.

I agree. This is a communication issue. The wording of the e-mail was curious and inappropriately set-off a pissing match which could have been avoided by just asking for donations and not mentioning anything about the money bomb. Supporters would still have given. The perception of those finding issue with the e-mail is that the request was poorly communicated. Work with each other, not hinder each other to benefit the cause.

We can do better. We can call HQ and offer our support and remind them how strongly we believe in Ron Paul, and how important we feel the Tea Party and the historic donations on that historic date are to the cause.

Don't tread on us. ;-)

the wording of the email was a blatant supposed NO-NO

I mean, here the campaign has been insisting that it cannot get involved with or influence grassroots movements (per an email I got when I tried to get them to endorse Nov 5th) I was told by the campaign headquarters that they cannot *endorse* Nov 5th by putting any mention of it on the website because it violates some law.
But then they mention Dec 16th is hurting them and not to contribute then but now.... SO THEY HAVE BLATANTLY LIED TO ME *OR* BROKEN SOME CAMPAIGN law by getting involved in Dec 16th in a negative way.
Not to mention slighting Mr. Lyman who is the second biggest supporter of Ron Paul.... its just not right and I think JON has got to go. This is the straw that broke the camels back... absolute stupidity....
