"Thanks" for "Giving"
Of course everyone in the "rank and file" of this campaign are to be commended for their generosity, motivated by their sense of patriotism. However, at this time of Thanksgiving, I think the efforts and contributions of two of our patriots outside of the official campaign staff are worthy of note and a specific "thread" of thanks for their giving.
1) Trevor Lyman- our November5th/TeaParty07 friend and hero
2) Lawrence Lepard - our USA Today full-page ad friend and hero
What these men have done of their own initiative and sense of concern for this country's course is nothing short of both inspiring and selfless. Though their contributions are different in their respective appeal (print vs. internet), their targets and end objectives are one and the same-- supporters for Ron Paul!
Yesterday we saw a bit of controversy and, in some cases, what appeared to be a differing of perspectives on these patriots' efforts. At least I (and I feel a LOT of YOU) would like to go on public record via this specific thread and say "THANKS" for "GIVING" at this time of "Thanksgiving" to both Mr. Lyman and Mr. Lepard.
For those who would wish to echo these sentiments and more, please feel free to use the comments section of this thread to do so.

Its really a pleasure to read Your posts (well most of them) and to meet such dedicated people online.

I watch the whole "event" from Austria and since I am a citizen of this country and not allowed to donate to Dr. Paul directly I have sent a donation to "chowda" to help keeping his website running.

.......to thank any one person or any subset of people. dont get me wrong it was a great idea. and indivudal effort should be acknowledged. but it was almost 40,000 people who made the idea into something.

It was never about recognition or glory for me. I passed up many opportunities to expose the person behind November 5th. The reason why is because November 5th belongs to us all, not just me. As I said to John Bydlak of the Ron Paul Campaign when he called to thank me. We as Ron Paul supporters are always coming up with ideas to get Ron Paul more coverage "I just got lucky".
I was recognized by the New York Times on November 10th for my achievement. As the creator and person who came up with video of Nov 5th for Ron Paul. This movement launched one of the most powerful grass roots movement in history. It was one of the defining moments in my life. That one simple article was all I wanted something I could look at and be proud of. November 5th was a testament to America and it's people. That we hold the power to change the world if only we believe we can.

M. Raborn There is another article on this site about someone tearing up when they read posts about people supporting Dr. Paul. That is certainly true for me also. The efforts of Mr. Lyman and Mr. Lepard bring tears, just thinking of their commitment. I also agree that Michael Nystrom deserves our heart felt thanks for providing this venue for us to gather as "family." Sometimes there maybe disagreement, what family hasn't had disagreements, but we still support one another. Indeed, it is the kind of thing we can (constructively) criticize one another, but no one else had better criticize any of us, or we will ALL be there for their defense.
I would like to name one other person that I believe deserves our heart felt appreciation and that is Linda Hunnicutt and the "Granny Warriors." Linda and Buddy (her monkey) have been on the road with her Freedom Wagon spreading the Freedom Message and introducinng people to why Dr. Paul should be the next President of the US, since Dr. Paul first announced he was a canidate. That personal one on one contact is so important. I have told Linda, after Dr. Paul's Presidency is over and they build his museum, they will need to have a spot for the Freedom Wagon. What we really need to remember, is that none of our Founders agreed on everything.
We'll all disagree. There will be times we'll fight.
Hold on, misplayed the tenses.
We've all disagreed, we've all had our fights.
But what matters here is that we all have the same goal. We're all patriots. We all know where our roots are. I've heard it said that in the case of Ron Paul, it's the only political campaign where the wagon is pulling the horse.
Sure we may take different paths through the woods, but we're all looking to come out on the other end victorious.
Leaders show us the path, pull us along, and try and keep some semblance of order to the screaming crowd of enthusiastic supporters. Sometimes things go wrong, sometime we'll disagree, but we're all comrades in arms here.
Thank you Trevor Lyman, for being a leader.
Thank you Lawrence Lepard, for your foresight and bravery.
Below me someone mentioned that none of these actions are selfless. He's absolutely right, it takes a selfish, selfish man to stare the world in the face and in one loud voice proclaim that there is no way we'll be kept down. That we're fed up with our liberties being stolen. That we've had enough lies, taxes, and happy promises to last 3 generations.
This year, we are actually having our generation's revolutionary war. It's not a war fought by destruction, but by building a new hope for everyone involved. They can ignore us, laugh at us, fight us; but only for so long. No amount of darkness can ever extinguish even a single candle of hope.
Thank you, not only the Mr. Lyman and Mr. Lepard, but to everyone who keeps that candle lit and uses it to light fires in the hearts of others.

According to Fox News we did not beat huckabee yesterday..They are claiming Huck took in over $1 million yesterday...I am curious as to why all the begging for money from the internet yet we can't seem to raise squat by any other means..The internet can only takes us so far !
It was a million in 20 days
Huckabee's goal was for "one million by November 20" with the start date being November 1. Paul out-raised Huckabee on November 20, which was Huckabee's "money-bomb day" (wonder where the Huckster's supporters came up with that? What a refreashing concept.)
So Huckabee hit one million in twenty days. Whoop-de-doo! Ron Paul raised around four times that amount in just 24 hours on November 5!

He started the day at around $800+ and ended up with over $1 million but $1M DID NOT come in during a 24-hour period! We watched the charts yesterday to prove it. The only way that could have happened is if they had a BUNCH of donations via mail that they were waiting to bank on "one" certain day, and even then I don't buy it.
His own website shows their November goal at $2M and they just crossed the $1M marker last night with their one-day event, but again, that was NOT $1M in that one, single day-- NO WAY!

You are correct..The headline on Fox stated Huck raised a mil by the midnight deadline, but when you read the article it say something else..Very deceiving headline by Fox, but nothing new for them !!
