What's the point of the Campaign for Liberty website?

I joined the campaign for liberty to get people to vote in new candidates for local elections. I just found out that I can't announce independent people from our local ron paul supporter group for local elections using the campaign for liberty website. My question is if this website isn't meant to promote other people to get elected, then how are we going to change leaders in our government with this campaign?

Trying to solve a Confusion.
I think the frustration of a couple of you, not the majority, is that you
have some idea that the Campaign for Liberty is something other than
what it actually is.
It is not a group that picks and promotes Candidates.
It is not there to raise money for someones political campaign.
It's an educational organization.
I think it would be a great idea to set up something like that, but
this is just not what I get at all from the mission statement.
Mission Statement:
"Our mission is to promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a noninterventionist foreign policy, by means of educational and political activity."
Our County is starting to get some action going. We have almost 80 members. Out of that only 10 are precinct leaders.
This is beginning to grow now. The site has been evolving and this is only in beginning stages. There are a lot of things to consider when putting
together a project of this magnitude. It is still being put together.
Ron Paul is out there consistently educating the public on the
concepts of Liberty, free Markets, non interventionism, and sound money.
The members are getting educated, educating others, and becoming
politically active.
Well this is exactly what it is designed to do. And it is just beginning!
Some prefer to do something else, and that is fine.
So my thinking is, if you don't like the mission of the group, then
ok, do something else,lol. But if you are trying to run the group into the
ground, or trying to change it into something other than what it is, maybe you have a confusion about it's purpose, or maybe something else.
So first try to understand what it actually is.
This week, enourmous amounts of letters were sent to reps nationwide
to get them to sign on to HR 1207 to Audit the Fed.
The bill has close to 30 Sponsers now and we have only just begun.
This is the type of activity that is happening.
To me, that is something worth backing up.
Could you imagine what could happen if every Ron Paul supporter
and every Liberty minded person got behind this???
This is what is needed. It is one way to promote our liberty and defend
it too.
It may not be the only way, but it is one way, and happens to be the way
that Ron Paul chose to do it.
Give things time to evolve. And if you are a part you can speed that up.
But please don't attack. Find some real enemies. Do something.
Put yourself in the drivers seat. Would you want someone undermining
your efforts?
If you think you have a better idea, then by all means do it.
But if you want to help, then become a member and help the
group grow.

I know that C4L can't put someone running on their front page, b
there are people everyday posting under the Recent Members Blog about running or be elected to some post. I think it's just how you go about it.
I think the C4L site is new and a lot of bugs have to be worked out. I emailed them yesterday about running an article on the front page for new members. We have 10 new members in our county and they have not logged back on or answered my email so I can't get anything going. I think these are new people that don't use computer a lot.
I think the best part of C4L will be the grassroots action like the meetups.You could meet your neighbor and it created a camaraderie. This takes effort from the precinct leaders. I am trying to contact one precinct leader now that hasn't logged in since Oct. and another that hasn't to date. C4L should have more affordable material for us. The signs should never cost $15.00

The question has been asked several times below in this thread. No one has come forward with an answer yet. All anyone is getting is a run around or quotes from a site where the blind do a good job of leading the blind. The owner of the site must still be sleeping (see below). And all those involved with said c-poor-l don’t have an answer? I won’t bother repeating the question again.

"Campaign for Liberty is a 501(c)4 lobbying organization which neither supports nor opposes candidates for public office " -- this is due to McCain-Feingold and other reporting laws. If they endorse candidates, they have to jump through hoops.
Additionally, they need to keep a tax-exempt status.

Since they built this organization using my donation to the Ron Paul campaign, I'm kinda glad they aren't helping the GOP directly. I am a dedicated Libertarian Party activist. I approve their stated mission 100%.
It also allows them to bring in Democrats. Freedom brings us together.

So now we must counter every Obama Admin move and every other liberty killing politician, bill, law, that attack our interests/freedoms.

Of every frn sent what portion goes to "leadership" and what portion into the operations? Why won't they 'open' the books LIKE RON PAUL DOES?
What I really want to find out is
If the C4L won't allow people to post about getting people elected to government, then how do we spread the word about getting people elected using the network already in place at the C4L? Do we just copy and paste the thousands of emails from your state, or hundreds from your county then mass email people personally? Isn't this counterproductive?

Easy
Go to your contact page and click on your state profile in the bluebox on the right. From here you can click on any county and/or district and see whos who in the area. Click on a individual profile and and then click on "add as contact." Done. You now can email this person. Add as many as you want and now you are networked. You can add your whole state. I've collected money for my Ron Paul Candidate this way. Just work it.

There are legal reasons they may not be able to get directly involved and why you may need to work outside their system.
Keep in mind that anyone who "coordinates" with a political campaign becomes a donor to the campaign. I'm sure C4L wants to be active 24/7/365, not just at election time, so that's the choice they had to make.

We don't need to go through the GOP BS rules to play. That's a lie and it's based on collective commiunist thinking. What we need to do is register DECLINE TO STATE PARTY and we need to refuse to fund PACS< and political organizations. What we need is a nation of individuals.. not parties. Because Ron Paul staying in the GOP
hurt the third parties. I turned down a well deserved job working with Nader. I appreciate Ron Paul opening the doors to the GOP for me to look inside, and since the GOP is smaller in registration than Decline to State Party, Indys, it's is less than a third party, and since Arnold runs CA... the GOP can FORGET IT. The GOP needs to die like auto companies.. I think Ron Paul for coming to my rEVOLution, but my rEVOLution is not about saving the GOP.

I hate to say it ...
But the C4L is starting to look ominously like a swing and a miss. Yes it has a lot of good resources and provides a lot of useful training and information, but I'm not keen on the way the precinct leader system if being run. I don't like that it's a dues-paying system. I don't like that they have a set of expectations of you that include specifically partisan requirements.
It's beginning to feel like another very worthy institution that's starting to move away from the grassroots principles that made it possible to a top-heavy, dictatorial type of system.
I hope I'm wrong but that's how it seems to me from overseas (currently in the UK, so I'm not enrolled in the PL program, so I'm hoping that someone who is will correct me on this).

But all the naysayer posts here regarding the C4L are not true supporters of Ron Paul and the liberty message.
However the C4L is organized and run, it still is the embodiment of everything Paul stands for and the strategy/choice taken to get back our Republic.
I say, if you abandon the C4L, then you abandon Ron Paul.
For those of you who cannot get over the party affiliation, GET OVER IT!
You are no better at this point than the people who wrongly vote their party every election. That sure has helped our country.

It is ran by the same people who failed so miserably during the campaign? Who knows?
It lost most of the grass roots effort by becoming a dues paying affront. This point is inexcusable.
When asked about the money (budget), I get told “they are hardly making anything…” Blah..Blah..Blah.. I hear everything except, “here are the book and records”.
I pulled my head out a long time ago. I will not follow a group that is not open from the grass roots up and all volunteer. Such is not the case with the campaign for (f)lippancy.

perfectly honest with you. I spent three days with the organization at C-PAC and I can tell you that they are a dedicated, well organized group that are in ther early stages of becoming a big force in the Liberty movement. I would assume there are good reasons for the exclusion of your needs but before you throw out the baby with the bathwater, speak to someone and get "the facts" on their rationale.
While you may not accept EVERYTHING they do or represent, I believe their hearts and actions are in the right place.
