Pollution? WWRP do?

Ive had a question posed to me by an Obama supporter and would like to get more opinions than just my own to give a more well rounded response.

"Okay, so let's take this as a test case for the New Ron Paul Order.

CO2 is being emitted into the air via the burning of fossil fuels. The CO2 levels are rising, and the CO2 doesn't stay confined to the property of the emitters.

Reasonable people can differ on what the consequences of this will be. BUT, I want to be compensated for this undesired increase the CO2 concentrations of the air over my property. I didn't ask for this extra CO2, and I don't want it.

Someone is getting something from me (a place to dump their CO2 emissions), without compensating me.

I believe that if I wait until the damage is obvious, then I've waited too long, and there will be no way to get compensated at that point. EVERYONE will want compensated, and the most responsible companies will just declare bankruptcy and go out of business.

I want compensated in advance, based on property rights, and the undeniable fact that CO2 is being added to my air without my permission. Exxon says the CO2 isn't a problem, I can find equally credible expert opinion that says otherwise.

What would Ron Paul do?"

Lessen the amount of

Lessen the amount of pollution the pentagon uses by bringing our troops home. The Pentagon is the largest non-nation group that adds to pollution.

but seriously...

Pollution is Trespass.

Pollution is Assault.

Pollution is Violence.

No one has the right to throw trash on his neighbor simply by virtue of living uphill, upstream, or upwind of him. Violators of the peace, and trespassers against persons or property must be vigorously prosecuted. Polluters must pay for their crimes – restitution for damages, at least, forfeiture of property if necessary, and for egregious and reckless disregard for human life and safety, hard time.

You have the right to operate a pig farm or refine to aluminum, but probably not next to my house or next to most anybody else’s house neither. You have the right to generate electricity, but perhaps not the right to flood the valley. Tough break if you can’t buy out the residents. You have a right to harvest timber, but you do not have the right to silt up the river, or clog the harbor. If you do, you’ll have to pay to have it dredged. We don’t want you going out of business and being unable to clean up after your own misbehavior and sticking us with the tab, so we’ll be keeping our eyes on you. Otherwise we’ll keep our hands off and let you run your business as you see fit. Just mind the fence is all.

The free rides must come to an end. No more corporate welfare in the form of logging subsidies, mining subsidies, ethanol or helium subsidies. For too long has the Interior Department maintained the access through which our trees and minerals have been extracted from our national treasury. Business interests must compete in a free market for access to federal resources. If they want in, they’ll have to pay top dollar for the privilege. To soften Man’s Tread on the Earth we must disconnect corporate junkies from the federal fix.

We can, just to illustrate an example, reduce the market demand for wood fiber. When we remove the subsidy that big timber enjoys, we make kenaf and wheatstraw more competitive, and when we deregulate the production of hemp we provide still more options. Hemp is particularly useful, growing faster and producing more fiber than trees. It is also a rich source of protein, fuel oil, and pharmaceuticals. Ultimately, with a greater variety of fibers on the market, in the finished form of paper, plywood, and textiles, none of which would enjoy federal subsidies, the resulting demand for any particular raw product would be lowered.

When it becomes less profitable to cut trees and foul rivers, fewer trees will be cut, fewer streams will be fouled, and fewer species will be threatened. Prudence alone dictates that we mustn’t extinguish any species if we can help it, as we never know where the next penicillin is coming from.

Pessimists will have you believe that there is NO hope, ever, and since they haven’t the means to make a difference, they have relieved themselves of the responsibility to make the effort. I’m not surrendering to their future, and I hope you won’t either. With a Secure Frontier, Hard Money, Respect for Property and Respect for all other Human Rights, we CAN make a difference, every day, with every vote, with every purchase, with every word and gesture and action. We are making the future now. It’s up to each of us.

This New Millennium Dawns with the promise of Life, Liberty, Prosperity, and Peace. A full belly for every hungry child. A good job for every able body. An ennobling challenge for every nimble mind. The Earth will be more fruitful, the seas richer, the air cleaner and sweeter. The future of industry is in the sky, where limitless energy awaits in the form of unfiltered sunshine, and limitless mineral resources revolve serenely about the Sun in wide elliptical orbits between Jupiter and Mars. Let the earth bloom as a garden, as a park, as a pasture, and as our own inviting back yard.

Just mind the fence is all.

Ron Paul would bring our troops and WMD home, and stop wasting resources on wars that cause massive destruction and pollution. Ron Paul would open the energy market to include products like industrial hemp, and he would allow the states to look at the natural resouces and make their own laws how to use those resources.. Alaskans would decide to drill ANWR, Californians, Floridians, and the Gulf states would decide how much oil to pump off their shores. Ron Paul would back US out of UN contracts like NAFTA that make us depend on long shipping routes, and he would work to influence congress and the senate to make those ships who pollute responsible. Ron Paul's open market would also give us more alternatives, like magnetic engines. Corporations would be held responsible and people would have the freedom and right to protect themselves, not corporations getting protection for their pollution crimes. Ron Paul would look into Chem trails and Codex and assure Americans that the US is going to protect them by not joining any global movement that employs genocide as a solution for global problems. Ron Paul would have hired Ralph Nader to run the EPA as it was designed, BY WE THE PEOPLE, not corporations and government. Ron Paul would have given we the people the opportunity to clean our acts up, not wait for troops working for corporations to do it for themselves with us as victims.

conned again!

Global warming is an AGENDA straight out of the United Nations.

Is oil a fosssil fuel? "BLACK GOLD STRANGLE HOLD" Jerome Corsi

The "scientists" pushing this GW theory are all paid by the UN through thousands of organization ... It is taught in public schools and has come about incrementally (baby steps) as with anything else.

Get Rid of the EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency sets acceptable pollution rates and prevents you from suing your neighbor for damages.

The continual irony of Big Government is that the agencies it creates to do things always end up doing the opposite by setting lower and lower standards in response to big lobbyists.

(Big lobbyists get big because government got big and that's what it takes--they would dissolve if the government stopped doing so much.)

With the EPA protecting polluters and no ability to sue your neighbor, you either have to try and lobby Congress to raise the standards for the whole country, or join some group and lobby the polluter directly.

Without the EPA and federal (and perhaps state) regulations, you could knock on their door and point out that they should change their ways before you go to court and sue for damages.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

It isnt the CO2

It is the benzine, mercury, and thousands of other chemicals that are released with the CO2. Every one of us is loaded with this toxic crap and die of diseases caused by them, such as cancer. And in our "old age" witch really isn't old we hardly live at all. Sick and feeble...

I'm sure a bunch of those who posted below drive big ass trucks that they probably have never used to haul a thing, drive way to much and in general don't think of the effect on the earth that their actions have.

They call themselves Christians and followers of Jesus while destroying the works of G-d's hands.

They ignore the teachings of the parable of the steward...

Well... they will hear "DEPART FROM ME I NEVER KNEW YOU."

The Bible says "God so loved the World".....

in the Greek that says God so loved the "cosmos"...
The earth.....

REad the end of the book........
REdemption for the earth...

Abolish the Fed

I think it's so hypocritical for Rockefellers and Rothschilds to claim that global warming is one of the two big problems we have today when they have gotten mega-rich from spewing pollution everywhere.

Getting rid of the Fed will take away their unlimited money supply, it will take away their ability to offshore production to countries with no environmental concerns, and take away their ability to suppress the much more environmentally friendly energy sources and technologies we know exist.

Isn't a big chunk ofeverything that is alive made out of carbon?

Thank you Dr. Paul for making me act on what I already knew was right.

*May the only ones to touch your junk, be the ones you want to touch your junk.*

Oh well in that case we got to get rid of this carbon stuff :)

It sounds dangerous

Thank you Dr. Paul for making me act on what I already knew was right.

Tell Him to Stop Breathing

His CO2 is invading your space.

First he needs to realize

Plants Love C02.

Secondly you need to realize it's methane that's a MUCH bigger problem in the long run.

Third ask this Obama supporter how man is causing globlal warming on the other planets in our solar system.

Fourth don't ask what Ron Paul would do.. Ask what you would do.. Real change starts with the Individual.

"ask what you would do"

Thanks so much. I groaned at the title... we do not need a saviour, we need humans who think critically.

How about, I would approach the neighbor and ask them what their favorite shrub was, and offer to plant a hedge of that bush to offset my CO2 emissions. There is no problem so small that getting the government involved won't turn it into a lose-lose fuster cluck.

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Plant a friggin tree and go to bed.

CO2 won't hurt you or the planet. Plants love the stuff and make oxygen from it. Pollution and the gas we exhale are very different matters.

GREAT question.

i don't know the answer to that.

is 'air' protected under property rights??

how do you make companies stop polluting 'my' air?

why is this even a problem??

if this occured in a residential neighborhood ... and your neighbor's activities was affecting your land ... something could be done. why is it so different with companies?

what is with that?

This sentence is important:
"is 'air' protected under property rights?"

Someone with senior water rights "owns" the water that falls on my roof and I'm not allowed to collect it in barrels to water my plants. If my roof has water damage is the water rights owner liable?

I like that.
