Love the guy, but again Ron's problem is a simple one. He needs to sharpen his arguments and focus like a laser on his core message. His word choices show him to be a Washington insider. Just slow it down a bit, use fewer words and always repeat the core message. (See how I did that?)

just saying "let the markets run everything" is NOT going to cut it. How about Executive Order 11110? He never gives a clear and concise answer to the question of who replaces the FED. None that I have heard. Just some very vague responses. He needs to bring it down a notch so that a layman can understand.

Now if only congress were smart enough to follow his prescription for the cure.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul
He answered it, twice. He said that the free markets would right themselves without the assistance of the FED. He later said that there was no FED before 1913 and the country was just fine.
Ron Paul has mentioned this hundreds of times already.
1. Abolish legal tender laws.
2. Let the U.S. Treasury under the control of congress handle government expenditures.
3. Encourage the use of commodity money or commodity backed money { Gold/Silver }
4. Abolish the IRS which would put more money into wage earners pockets.
5. He did answer that before 1913 there was no Fed. Didn't you hear him?
What he didn't add was; From 1865-1913 the USA's growth averaged 4% annually, starting the period producing about 1/2 as much as the British Empire and ending the period producing twice as much as the British Empire.
Under the FREE market Gold standard with ""NO"" income taxes.
Personally, I think the only people that would suffer under a Gold standard would be these multi-national banks that create derivatives and exchange/sell them to other banks.
"The free market. We didn't have a fed before 1913 and things went well enough. But since then we've had nothing but recessions a depression, and burst bubbles."
This interview demonstrates how a TV personality was not hired for her brains, her ability to think well or to ask questions that matter. She does not get it: she is a mouthpiece for Bloomberg and was assigned the interview. She did not do her homework; she does not know economics and lobbed dumb questions. Paul's responses just baffled her and she was in way over her head.
Shame on Bloomberg for hiring this woman. OK, she's cute and maybe she gives Michael Bloomberg a great massage. But that's about it.

My wife ran into someone we know at a town council meeting last night. She told me that this person said that "Ron Paul made a fool of himself on Bloomberg last night. He wants to get rid of the Fed." I found myself a bit perturbed and worried at the same time. We actually argued a bit. Afterward, I went online and found this interview. It was no different then a thousand others of his that I have seen. Same consistent coherent message.
I guess that the average person really has no idea what the Fed is and what it does. That is what I have reconciled myself to, perhaps as a defense mechanism.
They also think that We and Ron are nuts.
It is frustrating sometimes.

Maybe the answer is to direct people to other sources who oppose the Fed. I really wish someone would make this a top priority. I don't think the majority of the public is getting it yet and RP doesn't seem to be the best advocate for the cause. For instance, I've been turning people that I know are hard core religious right conservatives on to Rod Parsley's sermon on the Fed on YouTube. I think if we can make that video go viral again, we can do a lot for the End the Fed message. Hell, I'd even encourage someone from his home state to invite him to speak at the next End the Fed rally. I by no means endorse his views on the Islamic community however. You just have to know your target audience and pander.

ignorant and lacks any knowledge about the Fed. She needs to be educated.
I would have asked if she knew who owns the Fed? And she probably would have answered; the government, that would have been a great opportunity to start educating her.
You wouldn't need to beat her over the head with your knowledge. Just a few comments, then drop it.
You will have planted the seeds and there will come a moment when some event will trigger her memory of your conversation and then and only then will she want to learn more.

i encountered frustration because i would always talk about this stuff with certain people, and they just wouldn't seem to get it. they seemed to be interested in what is going on in politics, but just weren't ready to jump all the way into the ron paul boat.
now they talk to me about what is being posted on the dailypaul. curiosity eventually wins over, and true learning will only begin when someone is ready to start learning. we have to remember that losing out to emotions when debating our issues is not in our best interest.
more and more people are awakening each day. be patient.
But this woman is an airhead. "Should we pursue legal action to get back the AIG bonuses?"
Dr. Paul's answer: "The legal action should be against the people who voted for this."
There will never be another Ron Paul.

Michael, I am having a horrible day, and your site is the only thing that makes me feel better. Thanks.
In my meeting last night, I used ron's line "earmarks are like tax rebates" and it went over really well. People seem to understand that.
earmarks
a friend of mine used the "earmarks are like tax rebates" on me, but added "but only a select few in ron paul's district will get those rebates"
i said, "that's probably the best that can be done for a district" and left it at that.
I pledge, do you?
