Daily Paul has been blocked

My son has just informed me that he tried to show a school teacher this site and that the school has it blocked. Is this common every-where? Or is this just a fluke of the Dallas county, Missouri, goons, that run the system?

I'm a librarian, and

I'm a librarian, and sometimes do live reference chat with kids during school hours on their school computers in their media centers. Usually Google is blocked--in every permutation that you might know about. Google searches, Google images, even books.google.com is blocked. The latter really makes me mad, as books.google.com is an absolutely awesome site for primary resources (lots of scanned old books you will find nowhere else).

As I don't actually work at a school, I can't speculate on sites with political content. But as far as I'm concerned, they can block whitehouse.gov if they are also blocking the Daily Paul.

Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

Maybe your son could check to be

sure socialist sites are also blocked. If it were only liberty sites blocked, that would be an interesting issue for the school newspaper.

lots of websites are blocked

lots of websites are blocked at public schools...

websites for video games, pornography, even things like facebook, myspace and the like... basically, anything that they consider to be distracting...

When I was in high school (it's only been 3 years) it was the faculty member in charge of the school internet server/computer labs that determined what content was allowed, or sometimes someone in the school district...

I'm 43 and I had you pegged

I'm 43 and I had you pegged as my 'elder'. I have been way to busy with making $ for the past 30 years. I am way behind on my education (literally and figurative).

Thank you for your input. "In a multitude of council, there is sound wisdom"

Not a conspiracy

This is not a conspiracy. The school will block any and all 'right wing' websites that they don't think kids should be looking at. Anything the least bit controversial in their eyes, you see.

However, the nazis at the UN and their global warming bull is just fine.

The thing that really irked me is, they employed a company named 'BESS' to do the censoring and then BESS starting putting huge ads at the bottom of each website, making it slow to load and very annoying.

I complained and the ads were removed. How inappropriate is it to be censoring the internet but then targeting ads to kids in school? Shameful.

Just speaking from experience here...I got around it by coding my site so it would not show.

Is Google blocked?

Is YouTube blocked? Is Nibiru and NWO blocked?

As much as I love conspiracy theory, the crap that doesn't stop on YouTube and Google...gee, I should block them myself if I had better resources.

Granger, some day we are

Granger, some day we are going to meet. I am either going to knock your arss to the ground...or kiss you. Yes, you would like either the same. Just so you'll know, I'm in no physical condition to fight. No, I'm not 'gay', but with my wife's permission, I will keep this promise. Please, quit nagging at me. Your ears are just as big as my wife's. Peace.

my high school was similar.

We had a thick filter, and i think this site would fall under "chat" as it is an open forum. i remember my high school's internet was worthless because everything was restricted. that was a few years ago...

We wouldn't want kids at

We wouldn't want kids at school thinking for themselves, or getting an education, would we?

Sad, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Many government schools...

various hospitals, telecommunication firms etc. have filters to block out websites that contain information relative to "society and lifestyles".

It depends on the filter

It depends on the filter restrictions. I've dealt with filtering software before and the company we used had a specific category for 'politics' which could be used to block any site dealing with politics.

See if you can find out the reason for being blocked. The page that appears MAY provide the reason.

I just listened

to a caller to Jason Bermas who does the evening hours at Inforwars. This teenager rang about this same very issue, that his school has more or less shut down the access to the internet at their high school from around Christmas. I forget which state it was but Jason encouraged him to send in the information and they want to follow up that story and bring it out into the open.
Keep the kids dumb..only provide info that the school prescribes..

Please keep on top of this

Please keep on top of this and let us know how it goes. I would love to have someone go into every school in the country and check this out.

dunno

my parental control software on my pc is very unpredictable. just don't want my kids to see porn, but when its on there's a great many harmless sites they cannot visit

Wow, that

is weird. Why would they block us there's no porn or anything?

Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.

No worries, the "kids" have cellphones for porn

but we wouldn't want them learning anything about truth or liberty now, would we? You know a country is in trouble when you begin to see censorship.

The more I think about it,

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if this is happening in library's and other public computer places. BTW..my son is in high school. I would think that the DP would not be a blocked site. I won't bother bringing this up at a school board meeting as they wouldn't give me a response. You first have to get "permission" to speak and when you do they clear the room first so that it is just you faceing 12 of them.

Not blocked in my NC school system

I've been able to view DP from my classroom computer...who knows about the future ????

We controlled the gop

We controlled the gop meeting here during election time. I Know several of the brain dead members were coming to this site. They had used info only posted here to challenge our Delegate's. Their like little ghost that hide behind the fence when things are bad and come out thumping their chest when things are good. I guess they don't want future generations knowing about the Freedom Movement.
