Some contributers to this great forum have occasionaly posted their favorite excerts from the works of Rand.
In light of the recent news from Missouri, as we all feel the shadow of big brother at our back, I feel that it is time for me to share one of my favorite quotes from Atlas Shrugged. My goal here is not to excite or incite, only to point out to the fans of Rand the role she saw left for us. Names were removed for the benefit of those unfamiliar with the work.

Taken from Part III, Chapter II

"In a world that proclaims the non-existence of the mind, the moral righteousness of rule by brute force, the penalizing of the competent in favor of the incompetent, the sacrifice of the best to the worst - in such a world, the best have to turn against society and have to become its deadliest enemies. In such a world the man of incalculable intellectual power will remain an unskilled laborer, the miraculous producer of wealth will become a wastrel, and the man of enlightenment will become the man of violence. Society has achieved everything they advocated. What complaint do they now have to make?"
