Are we grossly underestimating the enemy before us?

One of the most common mistakes is to underestimate the resources and ruthlessness of the enemy before us. With teams of experts, data mining and advanced computers, it's very likely we are only in the early stages of a well crafted 100 year plan.

With two thirds of the world's economies now emerging, control over that block for the next 100 years is the grand prize for the greedy. The G20 on April 2 is the next big step. The questions are:

1. Have they applied enough bribery, coercion and sexual favors to the leaders of the emerging countries' to get them to agree to turning over control of their economies to the bankers.

2. Will the American people remain silent in their slumber and sleep through another chapter of their own demise.

How did this thread degenerate into a referendum on sabbath days

Good grief, people.

Yes, we underestimate the enemy in relation to ourselves, not because the enemy is so clever and powerful but because most of us are so easily led into dead end tunnels of pointless discussion and pointless effort.

They use bribery, coercion, sexual favors, controlled media, false posters on web forums, covert surveillance, and hundreds more tactics.

Mostly, they keep us always too busy, too distracted, too divided, and too ill-informed to work together against them. And they do it because we let them.

I'm screaming on the inside.

In order to enjoy the benefits of free speech you must

also be willing to grant it to others. You never know where a free wheeling discussion might take you but there is also a benefit sometimes in staying on topic.

The fact that people around the globe can get together at all is amazing but like most human affairs it requires both common sense, respect and tolerance!

I think it is respectful

We are all respectful of the diverse opinions and learning from each other. The topic is relevant because religion is definitely part of the end time equation. It is important to be aware of what others teach, whether you agree with it or not.

Can we do nothing right?

If one of us was to post something to discuss the Sabbath we would be critizied, if we bump something we find of interest, but happen to go off onto a discussion, we are critizied. For Christ's sake, let us be free to discuss how we will. All we are doing is exchanging ideas.

Well, since you asked..

We have ALWAYS grossly underestimated the power of their money.

There may be some political solutions, but all must be designed to make end runs around their money. If we take them on in areas where their money wields a lot of influence, we will always lose.

Masters expect payment for their secrets, keeping secrets from the student for a profit. Many referred to Christ as Master, but he did not keep secrets from us, he referred to himself as Son of Man and our brother, submitting to the will of the Father.

We are the beast out of the earth

we are the newest country on the earth. The last step will be for them to force people to rest and worship on Sunday, which was created by roman catholicism. The Sabbath day was meant to be Saturday, and the changing of that day can be seen in the Book of Daniel, which says they will change time and Law. The final days will be a war against true believers and true followers of Jesus Christ. There will be those who will hold the mark of the beast by choosing to follow the world, and be able to buy and sell because they hold the mark in their forhead and on their hand, which I believe translates to the work you do with your hands and the way you think in your mind. The mark will not be a physical one, what if they knocked you out and chipped you? You could not be condemned to the second death because of that. The mark will be the choice you make, because the world is going to get a whole lot harder to live in for believers eventually, that will be when you accept the mark, or you choose not to and suffer for the Truth.

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

Saturday and Sunday...

There is no commandment in the New Testament to worship God on a particular day of the week. We should be worshiping God every day. Every day is God's Day. The "Sabbath" was for Israel. Christians live by the New Testament, not the Old. Read Galatians 3. There is a difference between religion and faith.

As far as a day of "rest", that was taken care of by Jesus. Read Hebrews 4. The physical day of rest (Jewish Sabbath day) in the Old Testament was just a picture or foreshadow of the rest that we have in Jesus Christ.

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." (Dr. Seuss)

Were the 10 commandments done away with?

If the Sabbath was only for the Jews, then what do you do with Genesis 2 when it says that God blessed and hallowed the seventh day. He said that before there were ever any Jews. If you do away with the Sabbath commandment, which is the only one

God says to remember, then you have to do away with all of the 10 commandments. Can we, because we are under grace, dishonor God, worship idols, use His name in vain, covet, steal, murder, lie and commit adultery?

The Sabbath is a symbol in that we rest from our work and the cares of this world physically but we rest from our work and the cares of this world spiritually in Christ.

The Sabbath is the Sabbath of "the Lord, thy God," not the Sabbath of the Jews. The Sabbath was made for man.

Yes

You see there is the Old Covenant and there is the New Covenant. If you are a Christian, you are under the New Covenant. We are under Christ's law which is not only greater than the Old Covenant, but actually much stricter. For example, remember when it says who ever looks on a woman in lust commits adultery with her? Because he committed it in his heart. The New Covenant is a covenant of the heart, not of works. The Sabbath was fullfilled in Christ, just like all of the law. Christ kept all the law. Read the passage below. Reading Galatians 3 will help too.

Also, we all understand that there is no law that says we have to pay income tax. There is no verse in the New Covenant that says we are to only worship God on Sunday (or Saturday or Sabbath, etc.) Show me the verse!

2 Corinthians 3: 1-11:

Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?
Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." (Dr. Seuss)

The Sabbath, in my opinion...

Is a "Day of Rest" not only for worship of God, but to keep God above Mammon.

I don't think God minds if you do works with your hands on the Sabbath day--but you should not labor after money on the Sabbath. That's just my interpretation based on New Testament accounts.

Makes Sense

It is a great day to do things with family, get out in nature, play in the garden and do good works for others. Whatever keeps you away from the insanity in the world and helps you to rest in God is what the day was meant for.
I shut off the TV (unless it is nature programming or something spiritual), the computer and avoid talking about anything other than positive things. It helps me to keep sane in the insane world.

People here often get overwhelmed with all of the depressing stuff; me included. Having a day off to recharge my batteries helps keep me sane.

Good question.

Did God go back to work on the 8th day? Does He continue follow a 7 day work week, working 6 days and resting on the 7th? Does He submit to the cycles of this earth and go for a rest?
And one more question, is time divided into weeks in the Kingdom of God, with worship of Him only on the Sabbath?
I believe the 10 commandments pertain to the behavior of men in the material world and on this earth. They are for the benefit of human kind, not for God.
Worshipping God does not enrich Him, He gains nothing, it is for our benefit.
Not murdering someone is for our benefit, too. It is foolish to believe that we can actually eliminate someone from being; so why do it, can they not be restored by our Father if he so chooses? Was Christ not brought back to life when he was murdered? If our Creator restored Christ, and he arose again after being murdered, then it demonstrates that men are really powerless over life and death. Those who murdered Christ (those of the Roman and Jewish governments) were childish and self-centered to believe that they were in control.
Does this mean that it is OK to murder? Of course not, it is to our benefit to teach people not to murder, since murder empowers law enforcement and as a result leads to more and more killing. Doesn't sound like a lot of fun and I can think of a million better ways to spend my blessing of life given to me by my Creator.
In the end God decides whose soul will live and whose soul will die, as only He knows the true motivations behind our actions.
Christ taught that The Kingdom of God is not here on earth, that our flesh is not part of God's Kingdom, but a temple for where our soul resides and place for recieving the spirit of God. The Kingdom of God is within you.

Everything is for our example

Sabbath isn't just a day for worship. You can worship on any day of the week. But it is the day that God calls a Holy Convocation and the day to rest from all your labors. It's not supposed to be a burden. God gives us guidelines on eating, too. Not to be a burden but because He created us and knows what is best for us. And in no ways is our salvation or eternal life tied to whether we follow these guidelines or not. It does not depend on us. I, for one, am thankful for that. :)
My argument to the writer above is the complete disregard for the Old Testament. Paul referred to the Scriptures several times and their importance. He was talking about the Old Testament because there was no New Testament. They go together beautifully.
Shalom.

The Sabbath

is not on "Saturday" or "Sunday", but is based on celestial events, primarily moon phases.
The Sabbath can fall on any day of the week, and Sabbaths also occur on Feast Days or Holy Days.

The idea that it is one day of the week all the time is simply false.

The Sabbath of the 10 Commandments

Is very different from the sabbaths of the feast days, etc. The Sabbath of the 10 Commandments is the Seventh Day. It was to commemorate Creation. The Seventh Day is Saturday. Note how most of the calendars of the world are changing to make the Seventh Day Sunday. Why is that? Why do so many languages of the world use the word "Sabbath" as the name for Saturday?

It is not based on 365 days. It has nothing to do with the 365 day cycle. It is a weekly cycle. Ask a Jew who has been keeping track of Sabbaths since the beginning of time. The Seventh Day is the Sabbath and that is Saturday.

Well, since the beginning of time,

the calendar has changed several times, and there is absolutely no support for tying the Sabbath to a particular day of the week in the Julian calendar.

While I sympathize with the whole 7th day is the day of rest, as per the 10 Commandments, the modern day calendar has no connection to that, and is not always on one day.

Do some research on it. You'll see.
The issue is not that it's wrong to try to correct people to observe the 7th day of rest. The issue is that if you are going to "correct them", then correct them properly. The Julian calendar did not exist then, and was not created until 45 BC, and the Gregorian Calendar not until 1752. Moses was born around 1391 BC. He could not have used calendars that didn't exist. The Israelite?Hebrew calendar was vastly different.
The calendars of modern day are not even based on the same time references.

Saturday is not the "7th day of rest" every week, but it might be during some months, as would the other days of the week.

Don't Agree

You are mixing up days at dates. The days of the week are not tied to dates. The Jews have been very careful to keep the seventh day from the beginning. They don't need a calendar to tell them when the seventh day is. Actually, the seventh day was kept from creation so they knew when the seventh day was. It was no surprise. I know Jewish/Biblical history. The seventh day has been the seventh day regardless of how you change dates.

Human beings were created on the sixth day.

Jews did not keep track of the seventh day from the beginning, as they were not around from the beginning. Adam and Eve were the origins of all mankind, not just the Jewish people. The worshipping of the seventh day came about only with the law, established by Moses. Prior to this there was no special day of worship and Christ certainly did not come to enslave all mankind to a day of worship. That is the practice of priests who want to enslave people. The curtain was torn by Christ, so there is no need for priests as humans can communicate directly to the creator. As Christians it is done with Christ as the mediator. This can be done any time we chose, we don't have to wait until some astrologically measured day of a week.

grant

Sounds good

But the Sabbath is not the Sabbath of the Jews. The Sabbath is the Sabbath of the Lord. Genesis 2:2-3 "And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

The Sabbath was sanctified or set aside and made holy. It was to commemorate creation and the creator. In keeping the Sabbath you are remembering your Creator. The Sabbath was not to be a legalistic burden but a blessing. Our bodies actually respond to a seven-day cycle and require rest every seven days to have optimal health. It is an interesting physiological manifestation.

Now most have forgotten their creator and creation.
