I would like to know if this guy was locked up for drugs. They said he had a long rap sheet. How about we explore how violent prison can make a person, before we talk about guns? The feds make these animals, then turn them loose. That seems a lot more dangerous than a tool called a gun.

Where does any news report
say anything about "assault rifle"?
HI Gil, It's in this
HI Gil,
It's in this report

East Oakland is a breeding ground
for violence. No one has to end up in prison to become violent in that neighborhood. I would not want my husband to be an Oakland cop. It is an awful place. This is a terrible tragedy. I cry for the families of these men. It is no longer a major taboo to kill a cop; they are walking targets.
And this does show that gun control laws are a joke. Control the guns and only the criminals will have them. What makes me sick is these people in the streets are taunting the cops who are mourning over their comrades. East Oakland is a very evil place.

I'll bet it was not an assault rifle
I bet it was a semi auto.
The media loves the term "assault rifle".
Silver lining
This took place in California, which has some of the most stringent gun control laws in all of the country. It was also done by a drugged out criminal.
Not exactly a resounding affirmation of these great gun control laws.

This is so tragic
Reading this, the parole system should be under fire.
I wonder how many hamless potheads are doing mandatory sentences in the prison that cut that scumbag loose....
Yes, we need to support law enforcement
we do not have to accept abuse. I support police officers and I know the majority are very good people. They have a hard job and they are in constant danger. God Bless them and their families.
Dayum...
My heart goes out to the families of those police officers.
I think Oath Keepers is a wonderful organization..."we" need Police on our side, "we" need Policemen to know that "we" are not the enemy...that "we" are beside them...
Of course there are a few rogue messed-up Policemen, who abuse their authority, but "we" cannot let them skew our faith in the decency of most Police officers...(imo)
