Where is Naomi Wolf?
She wanted to be a part of a revolution? She reached out to us. She sent us letters. She started to agree with us. But where is she now? I think Naomi Wolf has lost most of her credibility as a freedom fighter as she has taken up her partisan silence in these first few months of the Obama Administration. Why isn't she speaking out against the continued wars, the token "change", and the outright lies of the Obama Administration?
Because in the end, she's just like the republicans who've lost all credibility in the eyes of the american people by being mute and blind to what the Bush Administration was doing. Now her tongue is tied and her eyes shut. As soon as her guy gets in, it's business as usual.
Not a word on any of her sites.
I guess we shouldn't be surprised. She felt that we could hold Obama more to his word than McCain. I never thought that was the case and think it is obviously playing out the be the case. The reason being, that maybe they COULD more easily hold him to his word, but no one in the democratic camp IS holding him to his word.
So where is Naomi Wolf? The Freedom Fighter. The upholder of the constitution. The Author. The Activist. The Human Rights Defender. If she appears at all it's just to beat the same old Bush Drum.
I for one would like to hear from her. See how she justifies her complacency. But silence is probably better for her media persona so she can pop out and rise again when things get really out of hand.

As an author with as much exposure as she had to the freedom movement, there is no way that she wouldn't have a good understanding of the two party fraud, etc. Her support of Obama speaks volumes.

Don't throw her under the bus too quickly. She is an author more than an activist. Wait until she says something new before making a judgment. She isn't perfect, none of us are, but among the "lefty" types she was one of the best. My guess is that she wants to be a fairly private person who is coming to grips with Obama and large parts of "the left" betraying their stated goals.

It is neither correct nor fair to call Naomi Wolf a fake.
I don't know what she is doing these days but she is not against us. Doug Wead writes some similarly saccharine articles about the presidents and their families, and Doug is certainly one of us.
Please consider that we have some among us who even dared to vote for John F. McCain, some even supported McCain. Lots of us voted for George W. Bush. Some voted for Bush both times.
Naomi has delivered a great service to the cause and she did so in truth, not as a poseur. She provided many insights into exactly what Obama would do, and we should continue to pay attention to Naomi's warnings and admonitions.
A close friend of mine who knows Naomi reassures me that Naomi Wolf is no Judas. Naomi comes from a different ideological background than many of us. She writes for a living and must write articles that will sell.
Consider that we are all evolving. Let's all hope it turns out well.

The denver post article is meaningless sweet fluff, and no harm is done to the movement.
She may not be much of a libertarian philosophically but I think she does appreciate liberty.
I think we should not pass judgment on her. She is still on the positive side of the balance sheet in my opinion, and she hasnt done anything to hurt us or any libertarian that I know of.

40+ co-sponsors now to HR 1207 including 7 democrats, and "Independent" Bernie Sanders has put the exact same companion bill in the senate! At least it gives us something to work with, since they are the extant guys in power. To just flat out oppose them is not going to be productive at this point.

I've read several of her books. I just finished reading her 'Give Me Liberty: A Handbook for American Revolutionaries' and here she is, slobbering and oozing sappy-sweetness for the very people who would DEVASTATE any REAL LIBERY movement in the country!

She said she would leave the country with her children, if she felt her life and lives of her children were in jeopardy. When she head reports of journalists being arrested and sent to jail, she was done speaking out. She's also been on "the list" (aka no-fly list, soon to be the cant own a gun list) for a while now and I'm sure that takes its toll.

There are a lot of good ways of judging the credibility of a new "convert" to the movement; but they all involve holding them accountable and watching their behavior at "crunch time".
Naomi is a prime example.
Others like Glenn Beck COULD be similar.
I don't believe in pre-judging converts; just remain skeptical and let their ACTIONS, over time, prove their worth.
