One of his better interviews
Even though they did try to smear him, I still think this was one of his better performances to date in front of the MSM cameras. He explained his position (AKA the correct position ;-D) in a clear and concise manner that I thought was simple enough for your average sheep to comprehend. Especially his explanation about the good assets of bankrupt corporations being bought up once they are allowed to fail. If he focuses on explaining why bailouts are lunacy and why letting the bad corporations fail makes far more sense because recovery will come quicker, sheeple might finally start to "get it". Want them to come to our side? Get them THINKING! Isn't that how YOU got here?
That was my one complaint about our man Ron during his campaign was that he didn't explain things well enough for the average Joe to understand. *SIGH* If only Mike Gravel was a Libertarian. Sorry Ron. I love ya, but Gravel can serve up one HELL of a verbal beat-down in those debates! You were just too nice for your own good I'm afraid.

I never condemned him and his campaign...
I knew all along he was the ONLY honest and truly econimically knowledgable candidate.
But the Federal Reserve would have killed him right away anyway.

Fox News is a master of propaganda and deception.
Think about how the above lead-off statement sounds to the average uninformed American that has been told their whole life that America is founded on the Free Market and Capitalism. Will they understand much more of what Ron Paul is saying, or will they immediately curse him and ignore the rest?

while i agree that Fox News sucks, i think Fox Business is decent (as Flame said). RP could have worded it a bit better, but i believe any thinking person can understand what was meant.
im not trying to attack you, cause believe me in my college classes i hear professors claiming that America is a capitalist, free-market country still - college educations are worthless.
the tide is turning, RP is gaining credibility with more and more people. im not worried as much about people trying to twist his words, im more worried about an attempt on his life. there is a history of killing influential, peace promoting truth spitters in this country.

there is a well-placed distrust of the media and Fox News. however, anytime the good doctor is treated fairly and with respect - i think we should be nothing but pleased.
i think discrediting him is out of the question at this point. as times get worse people (hopefully) will start looking for answers themselves, and there is too much RP material out there to twist his message.

That's Dr. Paul's words. What he meant was that the free market was prevented from working. For all we know, that's what she understood that he meant and what she meant as well. I don't see any deception there.

Yes, You Did Miss the Point:
For someone already aware that we have not had a free market, as apparently you believe, it appears to not be misstated.
However, for others, especially those that don't support Paul, or that believe we had a free market, it comes accross as exactly what it sounds like;
Ron Paul Declares the Freemarket and Capitalism Weren't Working.
The word "declares" is a good hint of the writer's intention.

I disagree
Clarity of speech is a highly prized ability in the press and in politicians, but nobody's perfect.
Certainly not Dr. Paul. If they wanted to smear him (why?), they'd have had her say that, and not let him on the show. All her other warm responses seemed completely genuine.
We should pick our battles, and this doesn't seem like one of them.

When Smearing is Obvious, it's Not Effective.
Neo-Conservatives have always been smearing Ron Paul, and Fox News is Mostly Neo-Conservative.
Now, that's not to say we should avoid Fox News, but we should always be aware of what they are doing so that we can turn the tables on such tactics and use them to our advantage.
For example, when the reporter announced that Ron Paul had said that the Free Market and Capitalism were not working, the very best thing he could have started off with is by saying the opposite -- that he completely believes in the Free Market and Capitalism, and then go on to say that we didn't have any.

Neoconservatives are not free marketers. Neoconservatives by definition are for a welfare state and government intervention to cure market failure. Fox Business is the most pro-free market channel ever in history.

has only changed their tune on the bailouts since a Democratic administration took the White House. OReilly and those guys were all for the bailouts and intervention when Bushy wanted them.

Think of it in terms of marketing.
In order to keep their jobs, they have to stay in tune with the viewing audience. They're not going to be supporting bailouts, because people are going to change the channel to view people venting about the bailouts.
For a news network to be successful, it can't be static holding the same views as the audience changes. The market drives the news and who is hired to report the news.

but you're right, Fox Business is a lot better that CNBC at least and they have been having Dr Paul on a lot. While CNBC has the seemingly more "intelligent"(used loosely) anchors, at least on Fox you get the guests point of view more than the anchor propaganda.

You Missed the Point.
It's not what you say, it's how you say it.
A fair report would have started off with stating a summary of exactly what Ron Paul had to say;
"Ron Paul says we HAVE NOT had a Free Market or Capitalism for Decades."
Afterall, a title is supposed to summarize the content. If it does not, then it is deceptive, as in this video.
