What exactly are chemtrails?

weather modification? global warming related? defense department testing? I'm not trying to stir up the hornet's nest on this I just would like to know people's opinions. I have noticed them. Today was clear all day and I'm sure there were planes flying, but around 5pm I saw three planes streaking almost in formation spraying white exhaust behind them. It is not normal. That much I agree on, but what the heck is it?

Chemtrails are ConTrails
Good Grief! Contrails are condensation fron the heated air flowing through jet engines. On very dry days the contrails evaproate very quickly. On humid days they linger and sometimes spread out. Contrails are not chemicals! You people should have learned this in 9th grade science.
Now can we stop posting this stupid chemtrail crap and move on to working to save our nation.
I don't want to offend anyone but really, Good Grief! Anyone coming here for the first time and seeing this post would think we are all a bunch of uneducated cavemen that can't figure out what those things flying across the sky are and why they leave bebind a string of white clouds.

contrails, contrails do not coninue grow in length. Contrails maintain a static length and quickly disipate momments after the plane passes. Contrails are caused by heated air in a cold atmosphere, the surounding cold air quickly cools the heated air.

Jet streams...
I have heard people present the argument that chem trials are just jet streams, but as far as I know, arent jet streams just wind tunnels? Ive never actually visibly seen the wind, so I don't understand this argument. Any takers?

They're probably using "jet streams" to literally mean streams of exhaust from jets (planes), instead of what it means in meteorology, possibly due to confusion of what a "jet stream" is.

This is everyone's first question. Very relevant.
The whole operation is totally hushed, so we have to deduce. They know what, when, where, why, and who is doing the spraying. That gives them a huge edge on taking care of themselves. I am sure their limos have super air filters, their homes have the best air purifiers. They have enough money to take care of their air. They are in and out of bad air so quickly, they are minimally exposed. They can detox, etc. They know what they are fighting.
The fact is that it is happening, so they must have addressed this issue.

If you don't believe in chemtrails why is it so important
to read and comment on this topic? Don't you have something better to do? Why try so hard to influence a couple hundred people reading a message board? Just skip the topic and move on to whatever it is you know about. There are thousands of pieces to the puzzle, chemtrails is just one. As another posted, you debunkers lose all credibility when you try to spread your doubt.

You're free to believe in whatever you want. Belief in God or creationism cannot be supported rationally. It requires your faith. The question was, why can't we leave "chemtrailers" alone. I gave the reason why. If you "believe" in chemtrails, rather than look for answers to your world, then you remain at the mercy of charlatans and idle hands.

Cause it's easier
To explain how contrails don't linger in the sky for hours. It's not that hard to understand once you get the basic knowledge of how cold it has to be and what atmospheric conditions it takes for contrails to form in the first place. When you have that established you can rule out accordingly.
