A controversial report from the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) is getting a lot of attention at the State Capitol and has prompted Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder (R-MO) to ask that Missouri Public Safety Director John Britt be placed on administrative leave. MIAC works with the Department of Homeland Security.
The February 20th report indicates supporters of such things as smaller government and crackdowns on illegal immigration, as well as backers of 2008 presidential candidates Ron Paul, Bob Barr, and Chuck Baldwin have tendencies to join militias.
Reaction throughout Missouri and parts of the country has prompted Britt to apologize to former White House candidates Paul, Barr, and Baldwin. In issuing that apology, Britt stated he had not read the report prior to it being issued.
Kinder is now calling for Britt to be placed on administrative leave until what Kinder calls allegations of profiling can be fully investigated. Kinder points out that while conservative and libertarian groups are targeted, liberal groups that include eco-terrorists who have killed and maimed, are given a pass.
The Lieutenant Governor would like to see the probe conducted by the General Assembly, with a legislative committee calling Britt to testify

Put him on leave, because he leaked out the info. They don't want us to know that we are being profiled like communist China. China hosted the Olympics. China has, shopping malls, grocery stores, television, internet, they can travel, but they also have dissident buses. They pick up activists and kill them inside the buses. The problem with mob rule is, it produces tyrants.

.....aren't words meaning these politicians are doing anything. Nothing has changed. The Lt. Governor is only "asking" and "calling" for Britt be placed on admin. leave.
It doesn't mean the governor has for the same thing.
Also, Ron Paul supporters, et al, haven't been apologized to.

What I want to know is...
I keep hearing MO officials defend the document on the grounds that "some officers have been killed by these people."
Really? Who, what, when, where, and how?
I've never heard of a "militia members" being "cop killers." Never. That is of course without first being attacked and shot at by rogue trigger happy federal agents with an intent to assassinate U.S. citizens they don't like.
And OKC aside - since there is ample evidence of undercover agent provocateurs that turned a small scare tactic into a mass murder.
One interview they were talking of
highway patrolmen being shot but they were giving dates in the 1980s.

Dugg. One thing that jumps out at me, though....
...is the obvious attempt to make militia look like something bad.

Journalism may save the day.
Whoever dug this info up is to be commended. This brought the light of day to the issue which maybe was never meant to be public knowledge.
It may have been a Missouri police officer who got this story out in which case he is a true patriot.

As for the MIAC agenda, this comment I found interesting:

Why would he need to read it if if it's a secret report and was never intended to be issued to the public anyway? Putting him on "administrative leave" is a token gesture. Glad to hear the LRP is keeping the pressure on.

Why are so many, so anxious to distance themselves
from the Militia? The Militia is a good thing and something we should all be proud of and active in. The Militia represents our ultimate defense against a tyrannical government. They're consumate patriots.
It's a wonderful thing that folks are fighting back... refusing to be categorized as "dangerous crazies" simply because they have principled convictions. To be put on a watch-list because you're vocally against illegal immigration or voted for a candidate from the Constitution-party is akin to Stalin-era government. That's un-American...
But amid all these "calls for retraction" and various statements of personal indignation, why is noone standing-up for the legitimacy and the importance of the Militia? Why, instead of running for cover or demanding apologies, are we not standing-up and declaring in a loud voice: "Damn Right I'm a Member of the Militia. And if you don't start abiding by and enforcing the Constitution, we'll be happy to do it for you".
THAT is its purpose. The Founders felt so strongly about this subject they explicitly singled it out in the Second Amendment (which has nothing to do with duck-hunting and everything to do with having the tools needed to control our government). This right was of such importance that it was second only to the guarantee of free speech itself.
It's time for Americans to once again embrace our Militia. They're the Good Guys.

militias are absolutely constitutional and are absolutely the right thing to do. if you are part of a militia, then you are only continuing the beginning of the founding of this country. one of the most important elements of this country should be the militia, the true civilian national security force.
