Say NO to Mexican Trucks on US Highways
Submitted by BrokenRepublic on Wed, 03/25/2009 - 14:43
Commercial trucks have a safe useful life span. When that time is up the vehicle is decertified for use; however, under a little known NAFTA rule, trucks that are decertified in the US are being sold to Mexico, turned around - with a Mexican driver - and being driven right back on to US highways!!!
The Wall Street journal has reported that the Obama Administration is trying to reinstate Mexican trucks in the US under a NAFTA trial provision:

Contact your reps in congress about this.

safety is one thing ... if
safety is one thing ... if they are foreign there is no problem
I don't care if Mexicans are driving trucks
in the USA nor do I care if Canadians are driving trucks in Mexico or Americans driving trucks in China, whatever. FREEDOM crosses borders. If the trucks are unsafe (the decertified thing sounds like a bunch of bureacratic bullshit) then that is a different issue and applies to all trucks no matter where they originate.
NAFTA? Get rid of every single bit of it and replace it with NOTHING.
FREE TRADE!
h-daddy
China is also expanding their empire into Mexico and US.
Perhaps the Chinese would prefer their trucks be driven by immigrant Chinese along the NAFTA highway, from Mexico to Canada.
After all, the NAFTA highway will be a geographical "Panama Canal" about 2,500 miles long and 25 miles wide in "lease" rights owned my China, amoung others. (distance from Mexico City to Calgary)
War on Drugs is the excuse that covers "Hillary's" paranoia with Mexico's government, and the mexicans in the US as a flip side potential threat and a pawn in the international scene that envolves the destabilization of individual soveriegnty around the world.
Want to end strife everywhere in the world?
Decriminalize. Decriminalize. Decriminalize.
End the global war on drugs.
Leave the farmers to grow wholesome foods and great cannabis. It's the only "trust worthy" currency they have.
Message to Hillary: "If you want to use Agent Orange, use it on your own house plants, not in Mexico.

I agree ...... say NO....... but my reasons are different....
From what I have heard the embarrassing thing about this issue is that they have, in fact, discovered since this program started that many of the Mexican trucks are SAFER than their U.S. counterparts.
The reason I encourage saying NO is that this BREAKS the NAFTA agreement. Once NAFTA is broken it is the beginning of the breaking of other illegal treaties signed without Congressional approval and without knowledge of the people of EITHER country (or any countries). Mexican farmers have been KILLED by NAFTA, so without it maybe they can make a living again. LETS KILL NAFTA..... SAY NO TO MEXICAN TRUCKS ON US HIGHWAYS! This may lead the way to the killing of other trade agreements..... ALL of which are harmful to the countries that sign.

Here's my earlier post: on March 20,
Today's News in South Texas:
Six Valley residents were killed when their sight-seeing bus was struck by an out-of-control 18-wheeler Monday. Mexican authorities say the truck's driver was drunk, and is facing charges of involuntary homicide.
Update: The driver was not insured and the trucking company is insolvent.

I call and raise:
if we do such a poor job of regulating our trucking industry on this side, you think we will do a better job regulating their trucks and drivers on our roads? The corruption over here is bad, over there its worse.

I used to say about Mexico,
that I loved the romance and rural atmosphere of Mexico.
Your right, the NAFT group is oppressing even killing the mexicans.
It just makes sense. The narco-trafficante problem is the same up here, in fact, aren't there more gang related murders up here?
This is just creating a villification of the entire Mexican population.
