The idea for the fax bomb started over at the Ron Paul Forums
I designed the first flier with all of your help, and Jive Dadson was the inspiration and wrote the copy for the second version. Here is an excellent sample letter here to go along with the fliers: HR 1207 Lobby Pack.

Find out whether your representatives in Congress & the Senate are cosponsoring the bill. We're up to 44 cosponsors in the House - I don't believe there are any in the Senate. Only fax them if they're not a cosponsor yet!
If you don't have a fax machine, you can send at least 2 faxes for free per day with www.faxzero.com. And even though this is a fax bomb, you are free to email and call as well! I also recommend following up by sending your letter & flier via snailmail to all of your representatives.

HR 1207: The Point is "AUDIT"
We will know once and for all whether the Federal Reserve is "Private Sector", "Public Sector" or some kind of bizarre hybrid --- As long as its SECRETIVE though, that's where the real problem is.

The bill # S.513 is not the "Audit the Fed" companion
bill in the Senate. Bernie Sanders entered 2 bills on the Fed: S.513 is called the "Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009" and is the one that requires the Fed to publish on their site the names of the institutions they've loaned money to, the amounts and all of the particulars. S.604 is called the "Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009" and is the companion bill to Ron Paul's HR 1207 "Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009" (the "Audit the Fed" bill). They're both good, but the titles made it a little confusing These can be found on www.thomas.gov .

I think you may be right. Apparently govtrack has the titles of the Senate bills reversed. Boo hiss. Maybe Bernie Sanders got them reversed. Well, they are both good bills authored by the Good Doctor.

I've been working on Rep. Dina Titus, too. She used to be my state senator before going to D.C., and I even once took a class at UNLV from her husband; he's a nice guy. It's irritating that she hasn't signed on as a co-sponsor. Keep up the pressure. Hopefully she hasn't been bought out yet.

We might be able to keep it on the honors page another day if everyone will rate it five stars. Right now it has about 2700 views, but only 75 ratings. I figure that's because people are watching in an embedded viewer rather than going to the youtube page.
I did the video without a lot of emphasis on "Faxbomb day," in the hope that it would circulate to friends and family and pick up views for weeks rather than one day.

It's on the top rated, most viewed, and most favorited pages in News and Politics. (It's just hanging on in Most Viewed. Could slip off at any time.) Keep up the good work folks. I'm hoping this one will have some legs that go beyond FaxBomb day. I'm afraid I might be preaching to the choir though. I've only picked up a small handful of new subscribers. Let's hope it goes mainstream. That happened once before. I don't remember which one it was, but I had people say to me, "Hey, you're the guy in that video," or words to that effect. I didn't know which video.
It's a small thing, but it's something I can do, so I do it.

Letter to media?
Does anyone have a good letter to send to media sources? I've already sent over 200 faxes to Congress (I won't stop there), but I don't have any letter to fax/email-bomb media sources with.
As important as it is to get our Reps aware of this bill, we need to get the general public in the loop. The more people who know about it, the more pressure will be applied on politicians to act on it.
So if anyone have a good letter to send to newspapers/tv stations, please post!!!!

I urge you to add your name as a co-sponsor to HR 1207, the legislation to require an audit of the Federal Reserve.
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is the audit arm of Congress and is specifically prohibited from examining four key areas of the private central bank, the Federal Reserve. Even without an economic crisis, Congress should have full transparency as they are the stewards of America's purse strings. HR 1207 provides that and currently has 44 co-sponsors, one of them being *blank*
As my *blank* District representative, I expect you to add your name to this sensible resolution to get America back on track.

What is a waste of time is useless drivel like this. People need to feel empowered. If sending 1000s of faxes to DC makes people feel empowered then do it. There is a huge effect to seeing these faxes come across your machine. It let’s them know people are not asleep. I would suggest you go back to sleep if you have nothing constructive to add.

I don't think HR 1207 and S 604 are the same... Now HR 1207 and S 513 are the same, and it has 2 cosponsors.

Of my 8 reps in congress I faxed 4 of the 6 who are not already on board at their home offices and in D.C.
The other two didn't have published faxed numbers.
